Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.

He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.

This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

I’m assuming it follows standard articulation, with ball jointed shoulders?

The best part about the articulation is that it’s a little more hidden. Most figures have leg rotation half way up the thigh, the War Doctor figure has this at the top of his boots, that’s how you rotate the angle of his feet!

,pull off the lid and pull the plastic tray out
and the only thing holding the John hurt in is the
paper string thing on the legs
so you just un-tie that 🙂

Just shows they can produce a figure in a matter of months , unless of course its a yeti , a zarbi, a war machine , a quark or a kroton or most any other classic monster from anyone other than the fourth doctors era…expect I’ll still be waiting in another ten years for them…

    • JaffaCakes

      February 26th, 2014 - 4:09pm

      >claps< I think the slowing down of the classics line is an outrage, with so many fans and so much opportunity to create out there

    • VespiformsSting

      February 26th, 2014 - 6:09pm

The last time I really got excited about figures were when those stunning Mechonoids were released since then the classic range has dried to a trickle and stopped with the sets dominated by tedious reissues of figures .. it really is a pain in the backside to have so many classics untouched and the classic dalek and cybermen ranges incomplete…meanwhile the ‘kids’ keep whining on wanting the most trifling , dull and obscure new figures going while we cant even get a major classic monster like the Yeti…….

    • JaffaCakes

      February 26th, 2014 - 8:57pm

I agree entirely – what would really be great would be a few more of those ‘adventure sets’ like with the fourth Doctor, only with monsters from other eras; Ice Lords, Autons, Krotons, Yeti, Zarbi, The Kandyman… the list of opportunities is almost endless.

    • VespiformsSting

      February 26th, 2014 - 10:20pm

A true fifty year celebration would have seen them release a set from each Doctor’s era plus a few of the classic consoles… Instead we got too many sets duplicating figures…..

    • JaffaCakes

      February 27th, 2014 - 4:04pm

And a heap of 3.75 inch new series figures too, which, while still figures, can’t be of quite the same quality or relevance. I mean, I like the Daleks, but some new classics would have been nice

Peter Capaldi didn’t wear Matt’s bow tie. Before Matt regenerated he dropped his bow tie on the floor so that figure wouldn’t work.

    • The other doctor figure

      February 23rd, 2014 - 7:09pm

well I for one sent a complaint to FP, if stocks are arriving early in other countries that usually get them later, then why cant they arrive on time in Britain? I know its probably a very simple error, but i dont think its one that the customer should have to deal with.

    • Wholords2

      February 22nd, 2014 - 12:45pm

It doesn’t work with the war doctor figure
I have hollowed the neck on my 9th doc
And glued a neck peg thing in the torso
Ready for when I get my war doctor figure

    • Likethisdayofthedoctor

      February 22nd, 2014 - 1:20pm

So, Wholords2, are you saying that it can’t come off? Ok, so if it can’t, how did you hollow the neck?

    • Wholords2

      February 22nd, 2014 - 1:40pm

It has a peg on it but its a part of the actual head mould
I had to cut the peg off to modify it
But the peg is not removable on it
      Without cutting it

    • Likethisdayofthedoctor

      February 22nd, 2014 - 1:51pm

Yeah, but Wholords2, I’ve seen it on various 4th Doctor figures that when you take the head off, it has a special mould on the bottom of the neck. You can’t really have a flat neck glued on a moulded body, as

      A) it would be messy,

      B) it wouldn’t fit on the neck.

So I think you’ll have to wait and see what the mould is like on the War Doctors body to put the Ninth doctors head on it.

    • Wholords2

      February 22nd, 2014 - 5:59pm

yeah that special mould is what I glued into the 9th doctors torso
      that i cracked open

to crack a figure open you just heat it up and try and open the seams
      it only works sometimes

    • Likethisdayofthedoctor

      February 22nd, 2014 - 11:59pm

      Sometimes, oh that’s great

    • Wholords2

      February 23rd, 2014 - 7:40am

well it will work if your super careful and use a craft knife in
the gap of the seam and move down the seam it should split in half where
the seam is, i put it in hot water to loosen the seam

    • Anonymous

      February 23rd, 2014 - 8:45am

Yeah, but you have to try extremely hard to keep 9th head in VERY good condition.

I just don’t understand why people can’t except an added bonus, instead of pointing out that it’s wrong.
