Has anyone heard anything about the recently returned episodes getting a DVD release?

Nothing. Its unlikely to happen anytime soon. Look how long it took for underwater menace 2 to get a release. It was found in 2011 and not released on dvd until 2015. If we get an animation such as myth makers say they might put them on that as an extra but an individual release is an awkward one. Many fans will be unhappy if it is just a reconstruction (which is the only way to do it quickly) and if we wait for an animation then even if they only did the seven missing episodes you are still talking 18 months for the animation to be completed. Double that plus or minus a few months for the full animation. I’ve got an unofficial recon that has them in and that will do until an official release comes along.

I was thinking more of a release with just the existing 5 episodes which could be released fully at a later date.

Don’t think they would do that, not greatly commercial outside fans plus I imagine a lot of fans would not be happy with an incomplete story being released.

I’d watch a dvd with the existing 5 episodes….it’d be like The Reign of Terror video…..get some actor (Peter Purves…?) to do voice overs between episodes….
Mind you, Reign of Terror was all new episodes to us, back then….
So, I dunno….maybe wait for the other missing 7 to turn up first….?

If the BBC are animating DMP, then yes I could see this happening as they would be put on the discs, however as a standalone release I cannot as too many episodes are missing.

Animations are happening, we just have to be patient

The reality is that it’s 2026 and the episodes are already not only widely available but available for free. People aren’t going to be happy with a Web of Fear situation where you re-release it three times. The episodes are available for people to view through the iPlayer and we know there will eventually be a physical release when the Season 3 set releases at some point in the next few years.

I presume the two Circuit Breaker Comics (Adversary/Dawn) are being released as a Graphic Novel Paperback in December? New James Goss book listed on Amazon for October. No details but its £25 and 400 pages which indicates a novel. The interesting bit is that below the authors are listed as James Goss, Robert shearman and David Fisher. An adaptation of of unmade story perhaps…?

      May 22nd, 2026 - 9:06pm

Ah, the mysterious James Goss novel….
Hang on, I thought that was put back till next year….?
During the winter months we speculated on anything from Billie Piper to David Tennant being in it….
400 pages though….? More like a Stephen King than a Dr Who book…
And where does David Fisher come into it….?
      Questions, questions…..

    • Bookcollector

      May 22nd, 2026 - 10:02pm

This is a different one to the target book. That is now April next year. This is a 400 page book. I’m thinking it might be like his adaptation of krikkitmen, a novel based on an unmade script. Fisher is listed as an author as is shearman but that could easily be an error. Hopefully they will make some kind of announcement soon. If it’s a new adaptation of a script I’ll get the hardcover simply as the paperbacks are not guaranteed. Evil never got a full release in paperback.

    • War Chief.

      May 22nd, 2026 - 10:33pm

Oh….I’m really more interested in the target book….
Next April, huh….? C’est la intrigue….Who will be the New Doctor….?

    • Golden Pineapple

      May 23rd, 2026 - 4:41pm

The listing is titled DW K2T, which could suggest something Key to Time related. James Goss did The Pirate Planet novelisation, and David Fisher did Stones of Blood and Androids of Tara audiobooks (later published as Target books). Could it be a compilation of those and something new (by Shearman)? Would that fit 400 pages? It’s probably something completely different.

    • Bookcollector

      May 23rd, 2026 - 5:20pm

Its difficult to infer anything from the codes as past target books have shown. I’d guess some kind of novel, like i say possibly an unmade story. The fisher and shearman references on amazon may mean nothing. I’ve ordered it but if it’s something I’m not interested in I’ll cancel it.

    • War Chief.

      May 23rd, 2026 - 6:49pm

Golden Pineapple, that’s very clever….! Key to Time, of course…..That would explain David Fisher….
Having watched them on tv in 1978, or whenever, I would be most interested in anything new in that line….

    • Bookcollector

      May 23rd, 2026 - 8:45pm

Unlikely to be key to time as Fisher never had unmade scripts from that season. Season 17 had a gamble with time which became city of death and there are two unmade season 18 stories he submitted but how detailed they were I don’t know. Again though just because Amazon has included him as an author on this book doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

    • Bookcollector

      May 23rd, 2026 - 8:53pm

There is no mention of Fisher or shearman on the penguin listing for this. If this is an original novel, perhaps set during the key to time season then fine, but I’ve stopped getting original fiction now so I would cancel it. If it’s an adaptation then I’ll get it. Hopefully they will release more info soon.

    • Bookcollector

      May 23rd, 2026 - 8:55pm

Its actually 500 pages so definitely a novel of some kind.

    • War Chief.

      May 23rd, 2026 - 9:24pm

I had the crazy idea, that 400 (or 500) pages, might be some crazy new novelisation of ALL the Key to Time stories…..!
Somehow….if they trim some bits off….?

    • Amypondfan

      May 23rd, 2026 - 9:30pm

Don’t see the point of that. Might as well just reprint the original books as an omnibus. Interested to see what this is.

    • War Chief.

      May 23rd, 2026 - 9:42pm

      But K2T…..(unless that’s a new type of robot dog….)
      And 500 pages…..
This is my suspicion now anyway…. James Goss and David Fisher thing, what else…?

    • Amypondfan

      May 23rd, 2026 - 9:46pm

As bookcollector says though the codes in the past haven’t really been specific. Wish they would either hold back until they can say what things are or just announce things straightaway!

I remember when the Tenth Doctor Collector Set came out, I pointed out that the videos of it showing the packaging outright stated that the set had the ‘ball-joined shoulders Tenth Doctor’ that was originally meant to be in the set and I wondered whether that could be classed as false advertisement or something like that. Someone said ‘well these are just the sample copies being handed out to reviewers’. However, unless I’m mistaken, all the sets say this. So, I wonder again, could that have been considered false advertisement or something like that?

    • Scotel

      May 12th, 2026 - 3:55pm

We have no idea what’s coming to B&M other than there’s no new tooling in the figures. Personally I would doubt it if their focus is more on improving old figures. A TARDIS set was given as a possible example for the “every set a different price point” idea that’s being floated for the 2027 Vortex line but that’s obviously a long way off and the budget is up in the air for that.

    • Mrs Croot

      May 12th, 2026 - 3:58pm

Apparently we’re not getting TARDISes again. Classic mould is almost worn out from use, the 15th Doctor’s TARDIS was the last use they could squeeze out (although Al did say there’s a small chance it could have one last set in it). 9 &10’s TARDIS was permanently altered for 11 and 12’s, and 11/ 12’s apparently can’t be released again because of the St John Ambulance symbol.

So unfortunately I’d say the next time we see a TARDIS is when we get a new exterior and if CO have the budget to make it

    • ..

      May 13th, 2026 - 8:01pm

I guess it just seemed odd to me that we got doctors 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 with tardises, but we never got 7, another 6th and tardis would also be amazing, just seemed strange they didn’t complete the classic line, even the war doctor with a 9/10th tardis mould, not a complaint as such because b and m do a wonderful job but really hoped for a couple more tardis sets

      We are getting

Dalek 2 pack for £26.99 – No idea which Daleks
11th Doctor & Amy for £21.99 – Again, not sure what designs
Dr Who Death in Heaven for £21.99

Screenshots have been posted online by someone who works for B&M and snapped info off the system. Rumour is the figures are two in box and not three.

This is disappointing as I am a classic fan, and would have liked repaints of some of the more popular figures that are in demand such as Tom season 18.

    • Scotel

      May 15th, 2026 - 12:28pm

When I first heard about them redoing paint jobs to a much higher standard the first two figures that popped into my mind were Amy and Clara (knowing my luck it will be 12 and Missy). They were really badly let down back in the day with the paint work. The Season 18 Tom Baker could definitely do with an update too, but at least that figure actually looked like Tom Baker.

@War Chief They are the same size as the Character Options figures. They even explicitly say they’re 5″ on the front of the packaging. They’d only be 6″ if you used the stand they come with.

Oh…..the Captain Jack with the green shirt and braces….5 inches….?
Still, my favourite figure of him is in the grey coat, with the Doctor’s hand in the jar….

New graphic novel announced by panini. The first collection of the adventures comic strip. Not sure if I’ll get them as the stories were aimed at a very young audience but nice to see them coming out. I may get them as I’m not getting much who this year.

Exciting! I don’t think it’ll be the screwdrivers since they’re already up for preorder, I appreciate a tease for a new release whilst not giving people enough time to grow unrealistic expectations, seems like the perfect way to build hype

To be honest Snowman, prime numbers mean nothing to me…..I just read about number 31 last evening in a Stephen King book….!

You shouldn’t be getting upset if random people on the internet criticise something you like (unless it’s, I don’t know, your partner or your mother). Just roll your eyes and move on, knowing that they’re wrong.

Rex right and wrong don’t even come into it. If you like something or don’t like something people can’t expect or demand everyone to agree with them. I haven’t listened to big finish for 14 years but I don’t have any issues with others enjoying them. If you like stuff that’s fine, other people won’t like it and that’s fine too. It’s how those two groups interact that is the issue and unfortunately the cesspit that is the Internet these days makes it very hard to keep things polite in the face of irrational aggression.

I can’t remember how long you’ve been running this site now boo boo but I feel behaviour has definitely got worse in the last ten years. Yes, there has always been issues with a section of fandom but the internet has given them a way to be instantly aggressive whereas back in my day they had to write a letter and send it through the post! I dont know whether you feel its changed or is roughly the same as when you started boo boo. The other side is of course that most positive fans (be that who or anything) tend not to post comments. The warrior typists on the other hand type quickly and constantly and unpleasantly. It’s the world we live in. I recommend no social media. You live in ignorance (thanks to this site I’ve found out about so much merchandise I would not have know about otherwise) but at least its peaceful ignorance!
Keep up the good work boo boo. It’s appreciated

      April 15th, 2026 - 3:21pm

Its not got worse, its just seems that way what has happened is that many users have been driven away or as you say dont comment now for fear of them been shot down in flames by the naysayers, they wont see it that way of course they want their say buts that’s the realty of it.

The plus side is that i really believe the DVD/Blu-ray post here are amongst the most civil and helpful on the web. Its a real pleasure to see that believe me.

The one with the coat which every collector would have wanted was an SDCC exclusive and was only available in the UK via Forbidden Planet international who had stopped selling online putting it out of reach for most UK collectors
