Robert Harrop Doctor Who Range on the Way

Robert Harrop Doctor Who Range on the Way

Robert Harrop, known for high quality figurines and models have recently taken on what looks like an initial 3 year licence to produce Doctor Who products.

Needless to say this offers huge potential for the serious collector with endless possibilities.

You can see their work at www.robertharrop.com

You can also follow them on twitter or facebook (we believe they are going to set up a separate Doctor Who page soon).

We await more news with interest…

With thank to Robert Harrop Designs LTD

These will be of extremely high quality & limited to runs of around 150-200 each, hence the price tags of £40-£80 per figurine. They are delicate figurines & will really be for serious collector’s only ~ The type that can drop £1,000 on a Sonic replica & laugh about it. Price is way out of my league, but if I REALLY see something I like I may splash out on 1 or 2…

    Wirrn please, Alpha Centuri

If we have classic Daleks can we have more unusual variants not just the standard grey stuff that’s all been done before.

Harrops replied to me on twitter asking about a classic console saying:
“We’ll do the obvious characters, but we’ll also do the untouched or lesser known stuff, the classic console has come up a lot”

bit of a dilemma for them here

I think a lot of people would like a classic console in scale with 5″ figures

But they are aiming for a slightly larger format from what i read

      what to do eh

I hope whovever has been doing the work on the gerry anderson vehices gets let loose of some who space craft…. Id love a model of the Minnow from Space Pirates or that superb Vardan ship which opens invasion of time….make up for CO never touching classic spacecraft….

Great, if thats what you want. But theres been so many ranges come and go recently, I,ll stick with the character/heritage range and the FP exclusives till i see what they bring out and how far it goes before making a decision. They did the sculpted busts and biff, bang pow things and they quickly run their course.

I just looked at the Robert harrop website and the figurines they make will be very similar to the eaglemoss collection.

The only difference is they’ll probably be bigger and cost more but they’ll be painted better and have less quality control issues than eaglemoss.

I can’t wait to see what they have in mind.

I can really see them doing inhuman shape monsters such as yeti and wirrn maybe stretching to the likes of monoids or an azal

I have a feeling they will do their market research and get a good feel for what people are looking for

personally I wouldn’t want to see endless streams of standard Daleks and Cybermen, all the stuff we have had before

I cant understand why CO never did a wirrn set with the grub, a mutating noah and the imago wirrn…Im hoping Harrops will do stuff like that…..

I used to collect their Clangers, Bagpuss, Paddington Bear and Wallace And Gromit figures when I was younger and I can confirm that they do make really nice very highly detailed figures. The only thing I’m unsure of is how well they’ll do Doctor Who becuase (as far as I know) they’ve never done figures of ‘real people’ before.

I wouldn’t mind if they did props like tardis consoles and spaceships. Monsters like the Yeti would be fairly straight forward.

    • VespiformsSting

      March 13th, 2014 - 9:46pm

Harrops did a great range of bears – the yeti would be easy…add to the fact they recently produced Virgil in the London Underground on his hoverbike from Thunderbirds and you can see how all their previous work will come together in Doctor Who…

Figures expected this year…Dont care about full runs of anything as long as we get some classic monsters to compensate for Eaglemoss complete lack of classic stuff No company has ever completed a range of Doctors not since I collected fine art castings stuff… Harrop’s haven’t made promises unlike some…so fingers crossed for some good stuff….At the moment I’m just looked forward to some quality merchandise at last….And if it costs well I dont care as from what Ive seen Harrops items only increase in value.

I was always seeing their Wallace & Gromit Figurines in Boots a few years back – Unfortunately they all seemed to be placed on the shelves smashed to pieces. I don’t know what Boots was doing with them ~ But I’m sure any intact ones from a Limited Run of 200 are probably worth a bit, due to the damages on the rest…

Wow..their stuff is very expensive…for the serious collector only me thinks.

I wonder if this will be yet another company that dont complete the collection of Doctors….spend tonnes of money for yet another incomplete collection….I’m still annoyed that CO/UT never got aound to releasing an 8th Doctor blister pack…I still have the space on the shelf 😉

    • booboo

      March 13th, 2014 - 4:56pm

all we know is what everyone else knows, its supposed to be still going but at a much slower rate
      2-3 figures a year maybe

    • JaffaCakes

      March 14th, 2014 - 7:20am

Oh right thanks – It’s just a relief to know it’s still going, it would be awful for it to stop with such a small amount of ground covered – maybe that means they’ll put more thought into each set, who knows
