The ‘Vortex Edition’ Fifteenth Doctor Set featuring Mr Ring-a-Ding and Dugga Doo Figures will be available imminently, exclusively online via Character-Online.

This limited-edition Doctor Who Collect & Build “Vortex” set is the second of five launches this year. Each pack includes one or more ‘Vortex’ figures, plus a crucial part of the Collect & Build ‘Yeti’ figure. This second set will add the torso of the phenomenal Abominable Snowman figure that can be constructed once all five sets have been collected.

About the set

This six-piece set includes the Fifteenth Doctor, as seen in the 2025 episode Joy to the World, This is a rerelease of the original Gen 3 sculpted Vortex edition figure but with a revised hip component for better leg articulation. Thie decoration levels on this figure have been pushed to the limit to create what is possibly the finest iteration of this figure to date. The Trousers feature incredible high quality decoration to create that woven tweed effect. The shirt and jewellery details have been updated to the bright yellow version seen in the Episode, and the jacket wash wipe and face details are perfect. As expected, it comes complete with the appropriate colour Sonic Screwdriver accessory.

Joining The Doctor this time is Mr Ring-a-Ding or rather Lux, the God of Light, manifested this time in (bendy) action figure form. The bendy body with clear stand accessory allows for many hundreds of different poses and gestures. He comes with an alternative pop on, pop off ‘grumpy’ face head to add even more character.

Complete in the set fresh from representing the planet Grimbald in the 803rd Interstellar Song Contestant with the catchiest tune ever, is little Dugga Doo. With a poseable head and trumpet-like mouth, spikey space mullet and fluffy striped body it’s the perfect finishing touch.

About the episodes that inspired the set

In the recent Doctor Who adventure, Joy to the World (2025), the Fifteenth Doctor arrives at the Time Hotel, which combines both time travel and tourism in the 43rd century. This unique hotel is a prized destination as each room opens to a different place and era in the earth’s history.

Here, the Doctor meets Joy, who becomes caught up in events involving a friendly Silurian and a mystery briefcase containing an unlimited energy source (the seed star), created by the warmongering corporation Villengard. To stop the threat, the Doctor must jump multiple timelines and, while doing so, uncovers a side of Joy she was previously too scared to show.

Mr Ring-a-Ding was encountered in another Fifteenth Doctor episode, Lux (2025). Here, the Doctor and his companion Belinda travel to 1952 Miami and meet a cartoon brought to life called Lux – the God of Light. Lux uses the appearance of Mr Ring-a-Ding to escape the screen and kidnap the audience; the Doctor and Belinda overwhelm the God’s appetite for light, and he dissipates, fading beyond the universe.

Finally, Dugga Doo is a quirky character and star of the 2025 episode, The Interstellar Song Contest. Here, the Fifteenth Doctor encounters Dugga Doo, a contestant of the 803rd competition. Dugga Doo is the representative of the planet Grimbald and performs an incredibly catchy song from his flexible trumpet-like mouth.

About the Abominable Snowman figure

This pack also comes with the second key part of the ‘Collect & Build’ ‘Abominable Snowman’ (1967) figure: the Yeti’s upper chest. This can be assembled with the head from the first set, while each of the three subsequent sets will be issued with additional parts of the mighty ‘Yeti’ for fans to collect.

Al Dewar, Creative Director, Character Options, said: ‘Reaction to the Dark Water Cyberman set release has been fantastic, and we must thank the collectors for coming with us on this Collect & Build first step. At this point it’s hard to know whether the excitement we’ve seen is just about The Cybermen or Yeti’s or both … my moneys on the latter.

The Fifteenth Doctor set I have spoken about several times and arguably it’s the best of the best. Out of the three Fifteenth Doctors we have now done, the deco and styling of this one is peak, and that coupled with the improved articulation on the brand new (que the Elvis clips!) hip joints, well I don’t think its beatable.

This set also includes a ‘bendy’ … yessss! BENDY! …Mr Ring-a-Ding figure for the first time and it works so, so well. He has a pop on and off interchangeable head a wee clear base, and again just superb poseability. Lastly, we have yet another figure ‘and I can’t believe I’m saying this … but its Dugga Doo with his own poseable head and base. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever foresee that one coming!’

This Collect & Build set will be available to purchasers of Set One on August 3rd 2026* and then go on general release on August 4th and costs just £44.99 .

Got my set today and it is great. Good to have them all added to my display.

Definitely be careful with Mr Ringading. I prefer the normal head but a few on Facebook have snapped the neck joint putting the 2nd one on.

And although Duggadoo does look like a Kinder Egg toy it is great to have it on display.

I hope next years Collect and Build has a unique set for the 12th Doctor as we are still lacking figures from his era (although I don’t need another 12 as I have 5 already).

I still can’t see any real difference between the two heads….
But, noting several comments on this site, I’m not going to mess about trying to remove the head….
      Thanks for the heads up….!

Actually, just noticed the other head does look more malevolent….and his antennae or whatever they are, are pointing the other way….
Still nervous about changing the heads though…!

If you have two sets then take a risk at least then you know one will be intact and if it works you have two versions

For the first time in ages mine has arrived without a damaged box but my doctor figure has a strange chunk missing out of his coat on the right hand side. Like it hasn’t come out of the mold properly.

Agree with other fans, this set feels a little bizzare in hand due to the eclectic mix of contents. That’s no bad thing, and I’m very excited to add the vibrancy of Dugga Doo and Mr Ring-a-Ding to my shelf. Would like to point out I have really struggled to swap the head on Mr Ring-a-Ding and have had to boil and pop to avoid breaking the small and brittle neck joint. I’m not fully happy with the result, as turning the head slightly twists the neck, it makes me avoid touching it to prevent damage. Part of the reason I love action figures is their possibility and tactile textures so that’s a shame. Also of note, my Yeti torso seems a slightly different colour than the head. The sides and back of the head are much fairer than their counterparts on the torso. Wonder if anyone else’s is like this? These could be viewed as nit picks, but the high price point raises my expectations of quality.

Nice one. Should have said they replaced my 13th Doctor from the Regeneration set which is why i suggested it.

They’ll also feed it back to the factory as a quality control issue.

Mine arrived this afternoon, was pleasantly surprised at how good the likeness is for Ncuti as its the first figure of his I’ve got. One of the better head sculpts I’d say.

Also, having just the head and torso off the yeti is quite amusing, sliding it around the table like it’s Cousin It from Addams family!

Received mine today. Paintwork not up to par, splodge of white paint on The Doctors face and shirt/top coming away at the top. Also the Dugga Doo looks like it had a chipped tooth and pimple on its lip. Hopefully this isn’t a widespread problem.

Mine came this morning. Just one Question for those who have the set in hand is the Front panel of the Yeti Removable. I only ask as there is a clear Joint on the front but I’m reluctant to force it incase it’s glued in a not meant to be removed. I wondered if it was made to remove and have a space inside for one of those Control Spheres? Help me out Guys.

    • Fh

      August 7th, 2026 - 1:01pm

I don’t have it yet but I’ve watched a couple reviews and not a single one has mentioned this as a feature. I was also under the impression that the sculpt was simply designed to give the impression of the panel but not actually be a panel. I’m hoping it actually is a panel as some kind of suprise but as I don’t have it yet, I cant say with any certainty haha.

    • War Chief

      August 7th, 2026 - 1:05pm

I didn’t notice a removable front panel, Coleman…..gosh, maybe a control sphere will in in a future part….?
Irritatingly, i’m off to work now, so won’t be able to scrutinise my Yeti torso till this evening….!

    • Coleman

      August 7th, 2026 - 1:09pm

Yeah, Thanks FH, I hope it was going to be a Surprise and that’s why it’s not been mentioned. Would be Great to open it and find a Sphere inside. I won’t risk prising it though incase it’s Glued in. I’ll wait and see incase someone else mentions it is a special Feature.

    • Coleman

      August 7th, 2026 - 1:13pm

Yes, Let me know War Chief if you find out anything. It definitely looks like a Seperate front piece, but I wonder if it’s Glued in and not just clipped into place.

    • War Chief

      August 7th, 2026 - 1:22pm

I don’t think a control cavity is likely, alas…..certainly nothing popped open at me when i was (forcibly..!) trying to remove it from the plastic….
Even with just the Yeti head and torso, i like to move it across my chessboard….like Padmasambhava…..!

    • RobW

      August 7th, 2026 - 1:25pm

I think it’s designed to be for the web yeti when it’s released, as that has a different front

    • War Chief

      August 7th, 2026 - 1:34pm

A Web of Fear Yeti is certainly something to look forward to…..! No flies on that….or cobwebs, ha ha….

    • UK Viewer

      August 7th, 2026 - 1:41pm

No the chest panel is not removable. As others have mentioned it might be to allow CO to make the Yeti MKII.

    • RobW

      August 7th, 2026 - 2:15pm

I can’t see why a Web Yeti wouldn’t happen in the future and include a sphere for it to hold, but i can’t see being the next set as I think everyone will want something different and to collect

    • Fh

      August 7th, 2026 - 3:00pm

Tbh it does surprise me that they didn’t (assuming they haven’t) make a flap for a sphere in the Yeti’s chest. It seems like a simple mechanic but then again maybe not considering the Build-A-Figure nature of it. I feel like it would’ve had it been sold as one complete figure.

    • Coleman

      August 7th, 2026 - 3:01pm

UK Viewer, Do you think it’s possible then that the Mark II Yeti front might be able to open to contain a sphere inside?

    • Scotel

      August 7th, 2026 - 6:33pm

No it is not removable and nothing has been said about it being used for a later figure.

The original Web of Fear Yeti prototype had space for a sphere (and a removable front) but that prototype was no longer suitable after years of wear and tear. My own personal speculation would be that it is sculpted like that to imply there is a space for the sphere (as there would be on the Yeti being represented) rather than some sort of conspiracy about secret future figures.

Whatever has been proposed as next years Collect and Build has been described by Al Dewar as “different” so I’m safely ruling out another Yeti.

    • Spacewarp

      August 8th, 2026 - 1:08am

I think the Yeti torso may have been designed with a removable chest flap, but they decided not to use it . However, it is still part of the mold so they just glue it down, in a similar fashion to how the non-electronic TARDISes still have the battery panel but glued down.

    • Coleman

      August 9th, 2026 - 4:41pm

It has been mentioned above that a Guy on another Site as managed to removed the Chest panel on the Yeti, and there is indeed a space for the Sphere.

    • War Chief.

      August 9th, 2026 - 7:40pm

      My one refuses to open….
I would be happy (like Altered Images) if we just had a control sphere or two with one of the remaining Yeti parts…
It doesn’t absolutely have to go inside the Yeti…

    • Coleman

      August 10th, 2026 - 12:33pm

Hello War Chief, Yes the Front panel on my Yeti is very Tight Fitting so even though it should come off I’m reluctant to prise it too much incase it Breaks.

    • War Chief.

      August 10th, 2026 - 12:49pm

My sentiments exactly, Coleman….its too damned expensive to risk breaking bits of it off…

In Australia I’ve just got my order in without any probs. I forgot about last month’s Cybers release until a week later, so had to pay ebay AU$285 if I ever wanted to own it. It ‘aint gonna become easier to get anytime soon, so lesson learned…
With Character’s new checkout, they switch currencies to whatever country your address is in, making it cost a bit more than previous releases.
If UK£45 converts to about AU$86, plus Australian 10% GST tax ~$94, how come Character’s site sells at AU$115 each! Then our shipping goes on top of that, so why the extra 20 bucks?

Put one in my basket for £44.99, entered my shipping address in Australia and Character immediately converted that price to AUD115, plus AUD35 for shipping. GST is 10% in Australia.
The Tegan set cost a total of £61.48 shipped.

According to a post on x/twitter only 650 left.

Is it just me but the Tom Baker/4th Doctor head of the October release looks bad, I know it’s probably a mock or prototype.

Rob you can see more of it on the new whocave youtube video. Although it doesn’t look fully painted. Scarf colour definitely pops.

It’s curious hearing that people have been having an easy time with the early access as that’s not been the case with me, every time I’ve tried to log in throughout the day I get ‘Couldn’t sign you in, retry or check your connection’. Not too bothered though as I’d be surprised if it sells out within the next 10 hours anyway haha. Plus I haven’t decided whether I want to buy it yet but was still curious to take a look.

Got my order in asap this morning. Very excited to receive it. That’s the two sets I was most excited for already done!

That’s the two sets I was dithering about the most…
It was only the allure of Yeti parts that made me buy the Cybermen one…
As far as I’m concerned, the further down the list we go, the better the sets get…

@War Chief. I feel the same. Apart from the Cybermen (I’m a sucker for Cybermen) I’m more interested in the forthcoming classic sets too. The 15th Doctor is probably my least important purchase, not because I don’t like him (I thought he made a great Doctor and I’m gutted that his tenure was cut short), but because I’m not interested in the Dugga Doo and Mr Ring a Ding, and I’ve already got two 15’s. He was a bit like classic Doctors in that he didn’t really change his outfit much. Can’t wait for Liz Shaw though, cos that’s the era I really grew up with.

I had real problems with the Tegan figure constantly falling over….her legs were too thin (sorry, Tegan…) and the Liz Shaw figure looks to be built on the same slender lines…
Even the 4th Doctor I’m really going to buy for the Yeti feet….
But Primords and Wirrin (and the Yeti…!) are a whole different kettle of fish…

@War Chief I had the same problem with the Tegan figure at first. I watched a review someone did of it who said that ‘surprisingly it actually stands up really well’. I thought ‘are you having a laugh?’ but it prompted me to fiddle around with her more and I discovered that it’s her ankles that need to be moved to balance her right. After a minute or so of messing with the ankles she stood up on her own pretty well.

That used to annoy me, FH, other people saying their Tegan figure stood up no problem….
Thanks for the ankle tip…I’ll remember it for when the Liz figure arrives (Sept or Oct)…..

That was complicated! Had to go to CO, log in with previous email used which then sent me through two verifications for Shopify. Chucked me into Shopify where I had to find the CO tab and manually type in Dr Who and scroll through loads of sets. It then did recognise me! So if anyones not used to Shopify it is there!!!

Yeah I recommend going through all the Shopify authentication about half an hour before 10, then leave the CO page open and refresh it every 10 mins or so.
