The ‘Vortex Edition’ Fifteenth Doctor Set featuring Mr Ring-a-Ding and Dugga Doo Figures will be available imminently, exclusively online via Character-Online.
This limited-edition Doctor Who Collect & Build “Vortex” set is the second of five launches this year. Each pack includes one or more ‘Vortex’ figures, plus a crucial part of the Collect & Build ‘Yeti’ figure. This second set will add the torso of the phenomenal Abominable Snowman figure that can be constructed once all five sets have been collected.
About the set
This six-piece set includes the Fifteenth Doctor, as seen in the 2025 episode Joy to the World, This is a rerelease of the original Gen 3 sculpted Vortex edition figure but with a revised hip component for better leg articulation. Thie decoration levels on this figure have been pushed to the limit to create what is possibly the finest iteration of this figure to date. The Trousers feature incredible high quality decoration to create that woven tweed effect. The shirt and jewellery details have been updated to the bright yellow version seen in the Episode, and the jacket wash wipe and face details are perfect. As expected, it comes complete with the appropriate colour Sonic Screwdriver accessory.
Joining The Doctor this time is Mr Ring-a-Ding or rather Lux, the God of Light, manifested this time in (bendy) action figure form. The bendy body with clear stand accessory allows for many hundreds of different poses and gestures. He comes with an alternative pop on, pop off ‘grumpy’ face head to add even more character.
Complete in the set fresh from representing the planet Grimbald in the 803rd Interstellar Song Contestant with the catchiest tune ever, is little Dugga Doo. With a poseable head and trumpet-like mouth, spikey space mullet and fluffy striped body it’s the perfect finishing touch.
About the episodes that inspired the set
In the recent Doctor Who adventure, Joy to the World (2025), the Fifteenth Doctor arrives at the Time Hotel, which combines both time travel and tourism in the 43rd century. This unique hotel is a prized destination as each room opens to a different place and era in the earth’s history.
Here, the Doctor meets Joy, who becomes caught up in events involving a friendly Silurian and a mystery briefcase containing an unlimited energy source (the seed star), created by the warmongering corporation Villengard. To stop the threat, the Doctor must jump multiple timelines and, while doing so, uncovers a side of Joy she was previously too scared to show.
Mr Ring-a-Ding was encountered in another Fifteenth Doctor episode, Lux (2025). Here, the Doctor and his companion Belinda travel to 1952 Miami and meet a cartoon brought to life called Lux – the God of Light. Lux uses the appearance of Mr Ring-a-Ding to escape the screen and kidnap the audience; the Doctor and Belinda overwhelm the God’s appetite for light, and he dissipates, fading beyond the universe.
Finally, Dugga Doo is a quirky character and star of the 2025 episode, The Interstellar Song Contest. Here, the Fifteenth Doctor encounters Dugga Doo, a contestant of the 803rd competition. Dugga Doo is the representative of the planet Grimbald and performs an incredibly catchy song from his flexible trumpet-like mouth.
About the Abominable Snowman figure
This pack also comes with the second key part of the ‘Collect & Build’ ‘Abominable Snowman’ (1967) figure: the Yeti’s upper chest. This can be assembled with the head from the first set, while each of the three subsequent sets will be issued with additional parts of the mighty ‘Yeti’ for fans to collect.
Al Dewar, Creative Director, Character Options, said: ‘Reaction to the Dark Water Cyberman set release has been fantastic, and we must thank the collectors for coming with us on this Collect & Build first step. At this point it’s hard to know whether the excitement we’ve seen is just about The Cybermen or Yeti’s or both … my moneys on the latter.
The Fifteenth Doctor set I have spoken about several times and arguably it’s the best of the best. Out of the three Fifteenth Doctors we have now done, the deco and styling of this one is peak, and that coupled with the improved articulation on the brand new (que the Elvis clips!) hip joints, well I don’t think its beatable.
This set also includes a ‘bendy’ … yessss! BENDY! …Mr Ring-a-Ding figure for the first time and it works so, so well. He has a pop on and off interchangeable head a wee clear base, and again just superb poseability. Lastly, we have yet another figure ‘and I can’t believe I’m saying this … but its Dugga Doo with his own poseable head and base. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever foresee that one coming!’
This Collect & Build set will be available to purchasers of Set One on August 3rd 2026* and then go on general release on August 4th and costs just £44.99 .

July 31st, 2026 - 2:03pmOut of curiosity I had a look on ebay and someone has already listed this for sale ( I know they can use pictures from sites like this one to put a sale item on) It’s only £64.14 plus postage think I’ll wait to Monday and buy it for £45 including postage
booboo
July 31st, 2026 - 2:12pmNothing new in this people chancing their arm, you would be surprised how many people buy at that price as well although some maybe overseas, USA maybe, happens with B&M stuff as well, also images are not from here, we have never used any of those on the ebay listing on this site.
The Maelstrom
July 27th, 2026 - 8:47pmJust curious to know if anyone is going to be buying this for the Gatwa stuff and selling the Yeti piece on ebay – as I’d much rather just get the Yeti part on its own.
Snowman
July 27th, 2026 - 9:14pmThere’s a load of Yeti Heads for sale on Ebay Maelstrom, so I should imagine the Torso part will be on there soon. There all going for crazy prices though so you might as well buy the Full set for about the same price.
You can always sell the rest of the set yourself once youve took the Yeti part out and get some money back.
Snowman
July 27th, 2026 - 9:19pmThe cheapest Yeti head at the moment on Ebay for Buy it now is £46. There’s a couple more cheaper but people are bidding on them still so they could finish at any price? The Torso will probably be a similar price.
The Maelstrom
July 27th, 2026 - 9:22pmThanks for the info guys….. If we’re almost hitting the fifty quid mark on ebay i may as mell buy the set and sell the items I dont want and recoup some funds.
War Chief.
July 27th, 2026 - 10:27pmYeah, thought of just getting a Yeti torso on ebay….but as people have pointed out, price wise it doesn’t make any difference, so might as well buy the full set…
I could always use a Mr Ring a Ding…
The Maelstrom
July 28th, 2026 - 11:30amWar Chief I wont ask what for 😀
Mark Belsom
July 29th, 2026 - 2:39pmMight be cheaper buying the part you need in one of the many Character Options Facebook groups.
War Chief.
July 29th, 2026 - 3:04pmToo bad there’s not a Sunshine Sally to go with….
JcW1410
July 27th, 2026 - 3:08pmI bought the first set via shopify, I got the email saying I get the early access to the second set, when I login I can see the first set in my past orders, but when I refresh the product page on set 2, it still doesn’t unlock the option to purchase with early access. Anyone else had this problem? I’ve emailed Character customer services. Thanks
JcW1410
July 27th, 2026 - 3:10pmJust realised I’m a week early! Sorry, my bad…
The Dr
July 27th, 2026 - 3:54pmYeah Guy, it’s on Sale Next Month in August.
The Werewolf
July 25th, 2026 - 1:25amThey should have done that with the Cybermen set as I don’t see any of the other 4 sets selling out like that anyway. Will still order this on Monday though because I can, but not untill the evening.
FH
July 25th, 2026 - 4:05pmI thought that at first too but then I realised it was actually clever marketing. By having the set most likely to sell out first they rope in more people into having Yeti heads which tempts them further into buying more of the rest of the sets, especially when they receive the early access.
War Chief
July 24th, 2026 - 1:27pmI can’t see a Mr Ring a Ding ‘grumpy head’ in the picture above…..just, curiously, two smiley heads….
booboo
July 24th, 2026 - 1:31pmThere is a difference but not that obvious in the box pics (the video shows it better)
The Dr
July 25th, 2026 - 2:56pmYeah, I wouldn’t say either face is particularly Grumpy,
Just Two Smiling Faces although one has a bigger Smile than the other. I really like the Mr Ring a Ding Character and it’s Excellent to have a Figure of him at last. I wasnt sure with the State of Dr Who merchandising that we would ever get one, but it’s a Nice Surprise. He will go nicely next to my Pin Badge i acquired awhile ago now.
Missyislive
July 24th, 2026 - 9:27amI have to say that I really really really love this set. Mr Ring a Ding looks great and so does Dugga Doo. 15 would be better without his long coat on but I can live with it.
vladnag
July 23rd, 2026 - 12:07pmThis might be my least wanted set but I’m still happy to get it, it’ll be good to have more 15th Doctor Representation on the shelf!
I wish they’d done a jacktless version just to have a costume variant outside of colour, and I seem to remember seeing they’d modelled the undershirt already so it’d just need new arms
War Chief.
July 23rd, 2026 - 1:16pmWell it’s not really ‘more’ because it’s the same figure as before….
But Mr Ring a Ding is growing on me….its pretty naff that nearly 3 years on, he’s the only 15th Doctor villain that’s been released….
Jamie
July 23rd, 2026 - 6:34pmYeah it will be nice to have another 15th Doctor. Really like the colours on this one.
Badwolfy
July 23rd, 2026 - 11:26amDoes anyone know, do early access emails come with having an account or the subscribe to emails option? Because I have their emails flying into 3 accounts but never early access!
Scotel
July 23rd, 2026 - 12:00pmThis is the first time they’ve ever done it and the system doesn’t go public until the 3rd. None of us will know until then.
Mark Belsom
July 24th, 2026 - 11:25amIf you’ve subscribed and purchased the first set you will receive an email, you’ll be able to buy the second set on the 3rd, everyone else from the 4th.
daz
July 24th, 2026 - 1:19pmYou don’t even need an email link.
The product page is already live.
So on the 3rd you sign into Character Options with the email address you used when purchasing set 1.
This will allow you to buy up to 3 of set 2 on that day so if you have the need to army build dugadoo’s you can
Badwolfy
July 26th, 2026 - 7:00pmAh! Cheers peeps!
Will T
July 23rd, 2026 - 11:15amWatching the announcement video i am getting worried about the yeti , why does it look like the torso piece now isn’t as wide as i first thought ?
To me it looks more curvy and not as bulky as it was originally .
Missyrules
July 23rd, 2026 - 11:46amYeti looks fine to me.
vladnag
July 23rd, 2026 - 12:04pmIt looks like they’ve made the top of the arms/legs very bulky, you can see how large the gaps for the ball joints are, if the body was too wide it would limit articulation and make the arms stick out at a weird angle so adding the bulk to the limbs is a good idea. I do think they should show the entire Yeti rather than just a rotating Torso
Will T
July 23rd, 2026 - 12:59pmMy problem is when seeing the video showing it to me it doesn’t look as big or clunky as it should , to me it should be chunky and stiff and not fully articulated, yes maybe some bits should move but when looking at the set photos i am worried that what we’re getting isn’t what was shown on screen .
Don’t get me wrong i am happy were getting it but looking back to the videos of the prototype al showed in a podcast it looks different to what were actually going to get , if guess that’s the reality of prototypes but I decided to fully do the collect and build because i liked the version showed off at the beginning.
John
July 23rd, 2026 - 10:24amSo here’s a thing – I’ve got an email for early access which says sign in with the account you purchased set 1 with ……..but I checked out as guest. So how does that work? Any ideas? Anyone else the same?
Pandoricus
July 25th, 2026 - 5:25pmSame!
daz
July 25th, 2026 - 6:46pmSurely you both put an email address in with your order even if you check out as a guest?
Otherwise, how did you get an email saying you buy set 2 on day 1.
You sign in with that email.
Davidhhh
July 23rd, 2026 - 9:43amInterestingly, even though most items on their site currently say “unavailable for shipping to the US”, they have updated the pricing in US dollars, and basically doubled them. This set – and pretty much all of them are now listed as $95 US. The current exchange rate is 1 UK pound = 1.34 USD. Even when you add the stupid political football 10% tariffs and any possible customs fees, that’s still a massive markup.
And the only one that’s available to buy in the US is the Wrarth Warrior set on sale for half off at $48. Wild.
More then 2 alphabets
July 23rd, 2026 - 2:45amSo have people had emails for early access? Ive not had anything?

July 22nd, 2026 - 8:20pmjoy to the world was 24 not 25. it’s funny how there’s always really basic errors like that in these press releases
Radburn
July 22nd, 2026 - 8:05pmIs there a problem with Character’s Website? I can’t seem to load the images properly to view. Some just load the previous image & one look’s like it could be a Video. It just come’s across as a fuzzy Dr Who Logo?
Scotel
July 22nd, 2026 - 10:15pmThe video works if you download it but curiously doesn’t play on the site itself.
Doctor Stu
July 22nd, 2026 - 7:38pmYehhh I think I’ll wait for the next one
mick
July 22nd, 2026 - 6:01pmNot a big fan of bendy figures I’m always frightened that the wires inside will break after a while.
The Dr
July 22nd, 2026 - 11:21pmYes, They do usually Break. I remember Years ago I had Figures with the Wire inside (Not Dr Who Related) and if you do pose your Figures alot they do eventually break.
Kettlewell
July 22nd, 2026 - 5:30pmWasn’t to keen originally but looks great

July 22nd, 2026 - 4:35pmScalpers will love how they also get early access.
New golden age for Scalpers Bay
booboo
July 22nd, 2026 - 5:06pmVisitors to this site should not have had to worry, ample warning to order was given which is exactly what we are here for and have been for nearly 20 years.
Andrew
July 22nd, 2026 - 5:32pmTotally agree, would have missed out on loads over the years had it not been for this site
axc
July 22nd, 2026 - 7:58pmLast one took 6 days to sell out. Won’t be a problem. And even then, Character are holding units back for post-sale anyway.
bryan
July 22nd, 2026 - 9:39pmaxc. the important bit of your post is.Sold out.
so everybody who bought the cybermen, will be able to but the 15th Doctor friends and foes set.
I assume some bought more than one Cyberman set. So they may not buy two. But many may not have bought the previous Vortex edition,so might buy this. but I imagine Character would be so impressed to sell out on the Monday. If it sells out,why would they hold stock back? selling is what they hope to do.
John
July 23rd, 2026 - 8:20amBryan, it sold out over a week. The second set isn’t going to sell out on day 1 if the Cybermen one didn’t. The same people will be the buyers! (more or less).
I also doubt that many will sell, people bought loads of sets of Cybermen, they won’t buy that many of these.
Fh
July 23rd, 2026 - 3:50pmIt’s a system literally designed to stop scalpers. How are you criticising it as ‘the New golden age for Scalpers Bay’!? Sick of people complaining about scalpers in the most unwarranted of circumstances, it’s crazy how many people fail to understand this stuff.
Brian
July 23rd, 2026 - 4:22pmBecause it doesn’t stop scalpers. There’s a limit on sets per transaction but you can order as many times as you want.
Having said that there’s no reason to buy off scalpers in the UK. Its amazing me how many people said they diodn’t get Cybers when they were on sale for 6 days.
Jamie
July 22nd, 2026 - 4:22pmYes! Looks soo good! Very excited for this one.
FH
July 22nd, 2026 - 3:42pmOh, ello!
War Chief.
July 22nd, 2026 - 3:39pmSo Mr Ring a Ding is three dimensional….? Or at least his head seems to be….That makes it more interesting….
Amypondfan
July 22nd, 2026 - 5:26pmHe was 3d in the original story even as a cartoon
War Chief.
July 22nd, 2026 - 5:46pmI don’t think he was…..only at the end, when he’s growing bigger and bigger, because of the light…
Missyrules
July 22nd, 2026 - 7:41pmDoes it really matter?

July 22nd, 2026 - 8:46pmI like to get things straightened out…..
