I was reading about the tender and that the show could be back 2028 and I can’t say I’m excited. I think I may be done with new who. I enjoyed it up to the last three years, finding Russell’s return hard going and you won’t hear me saying no one should like it, I’m sure there are many fans of ncuti despite what others on here think, but I am getting old and I think it might just be for younger fans now. I may end up watching it and enjoying it, but buying it? Not so sure about that. I’ve stopped getting original fiction now, I made an exception for some of the circuit breaker stuff, the novel, short story and I have the dalek omnibus on order (which has been delayed by 2 weeks) but I can’t say i was riveted by it. So original fiction is out now. Happy to get the ace book in the mag next month as its one I’ve read and did enjoy. The target books and the panini graphic novels are the only stuff I’m really bothered about now. Obviously animations and returned episodes will continue to be bought.

That era of Who is over. You’ve said it yourself. Might as well wait and see if the next one is more to your liking.

I just don’t know if I can be bothered anymore peter. The kerfuffle that surrounds the show has reached a point where I avoid all social media, YouTube and most sites. I love this site for two reasons, one its generally more kind than other sites but still on the borders at times but most importantly, two, it has provided great info about things I would have missed if I hadn’t seen them on here. I like the classic era and most of the new who we have but I’m starting to suspect the tone of modern life is leaving me behind and frankly good, modern life is far too depressing to contemplate. I’ve decided on a policy of wilful ignorance (like modern politicians across the globe and there wilful denying of the patent truth!) I’ll stick to my books, old fashioned cds and dvds. There’s a world outside the house? Really!? Keep it! Lol…

It all depends….who will be the New Doctor…
Having just watched Bookish, I’m rather in favour of Mark Gatiss….!

hope for the best,i did for years i would think next weeks episode will be good ,, and it wasn’t but now the bbc is starting to realise people do not want the crap they have been putting out over the last few years and not just bad who but with a new team with old thinking but new ideas it could be the doctor who a lot of people loved so then bbc got a lot of money out of

Depth and perspective are regularly given a battering by Photoshop. Even art that looks good at first can fall apart if you pay closer attention.

And no mention of any future Blu-ray releases, but interesting that the surviving episodes of missing stories are getting big screenings are they more surprises coming our way with the discovery of more missing episodes turning up. If we remember when the Daleks Master Plan two missing episodes turned up. There was rumours that two more were in the possession of a private film collector and the episodes bfi and screening is from The Underwater Menace epi 2 & 3. Is it possible that they have invited Anneke Wells to the screening is she like Peter Purves going to get a surprise that just maybe they have the missing episodes of 1 & 4 and are keeping them under wraps as a surprise, are these the two this private collector had all along and is this awaiting announcement for a straight release to DVD/Blu-ray.

    • The Unlicensed Physician

      September 17th, 2026 - 6:15pm

Are you sure the BFI are screening anything? Not just Riverside Studios having their latest regular event?

    • Gordon

      September 17th, 2026 - 6:25pm

Firstly it’s no surprise of the lack of future blu ray news as they usually don’t write anything in the mag until it’s ready to go that day or week.

Secondly the event that you describe is just another of riverside studios events they have been doing since at least 2023 which has nothing to do with the bfi. They have done moonbase and tenth planet events showing the surviving eps and never once they had surprises.

Plus any reveal from FIF will get a iPlayer release prior to any stand alone release

Just picked up my copy from my local (soon to close) TG Jones. Anneke interview looks impressively indepth and fact of fiction on a decent story. Comic strip even looks interesting. Worth picking up.

  • ComicAdventuresContinue

    September 17th, 2026 - 1:59pm

Is the comic strip adventure for the 10th Doctor and Rose – just a re-print from Doctor Who Adventures Comic/Magazine ?

As it looks a lot like it style wise and how it ends.

    • Ross

      September 17th, 2026 - 2:08pm

the comic annoyed me so much, they say “literally” far too many times, all felt a bit too repetitive

    • ComicAdventuresContinue

      September 17th, 2026 - 2:47pm

@ross – been cooler if they had done a Second Doctor adventure after doing the 1st doc one for the last few issues.

And kept going onwards in Doctors every few issues.

    • Bookcollector

      September 17th, 2026 - 2:53pm

Presumably new as the adventures stories tended to only be one part. What is it called? I’ll look it up for you.

    • Missyrules

      September 17th, 2026 - 3:03pm

Frankly any doctor would have been preferable to Tennant. Troughton would have been brilliant, but how about a John hurt story for a change?

      @bookcollector its called Bizarre Baxaar!

    • Bookcollector

      September 18th, 2026 - 4:58pm

Definitely new, no story with that title in the original 10th dr rose stories

  • The Dr

    September 17th, 2026 - 11:46am

Isn to it about time we had the 15th Doctor back on the cover and all the info in the Magazine about him aswell, with a indepth interview etc. After all he is the Newest Doctor still untill more Who is made?

    • Kev

      September 17th, 2026 - 12:08pm

Nah he’s long gone and no one cares. Anyway Sylvester is the current TV Doctor………having appeared most recently.

    • Jamie

      September 17th, 2026 - 12:10pm

It would be nice to see 15 on the cover again yeah.

    • Gordon

      September 17th, 2026 - 12:11pm

What exactly would they interview him about? There really isn’t anything who related he’s been involved with since he left

they should have 15 on the cover because they need to sell the magazine and he like 13 was not popular

    • not RTD

      September 17th, 2026 - 1:38pm

that last message should have had a NOT in it as in they should NOT have 15 on the cover because they need to sell the magazine and he like 13 was not popular

    • War Chief

      September 17th, 2026 - 4:32pm

But the show is on hiatus….
And he was only in it for 2 years…
And only for 8 episodes, not 13…
and in ones like 43 Yards, whatever it was , hardly in it…

    • The Dr

      September 17th, 2026 - 5:27pm

I know War Chief, I was just being abit cheeky. I realise nothing sells from that Doctor, whether its the show or any Merchandise. I’m really of the same opinion as Kev who Commented above. Sorry I couldn’t resist.

    • War Chief

      September 17th, 2026 - 6:58pm

I might still have bought any figures of him in his other costumes…
Black leather jacket was my favourite….or the Beatles look….
      But there it is….
and i’d have loved that Console Room….just the central console you know, and maybe the jukebox…

    • Stephen Palmer

      September 17th, 2026 - 7:04pm

erm 16 episodes and two xmas specials. Which actually gives him about as much screen time as Colin Baker and way more than Paul Mcgann

    • War Chief.

      September 17th, 2026 - 7:41pm

      Fair point, Stephen….

    • RobW

      September 17th, 2026 - 8:23pm

Classic Who seems to be very popular with figure sets selling out, target books, the blu rays (or lack of new limited ones), compared to 15. Ecclestone and Tennant are probably the most popular Doctors from Nu Who, you could put them on the front and content inside about them and they would sell well.

The BBC tender is out, I just looked at and thought it’s last chance saloon for the show.

    • War Chief.

      September 17th, 2026 - 9:12pm

Eccleston and Capaldi for me….they were cold, remote, slightly alien….exactly the way the Doctor should be…
At least, Peter Capaldi started out that way…
