Doctor Who Collect and Build Yeti Season 7 Set Liz Shaw and Primord
This product will be available exclusively to Set 2 purchasers at 10am BST on Monday 14th September.
General sale will commence at 10am BST on Tuesday 15th September at www.character-online.com
Character Options details its eagerly awaited Doctor Who Collect & Build Set 3.
2026 has seen the reimagiation of Character Options’ Collect & Build series for its iconic Doctor Who Figures. After the rapid sell out of the debut and subsequent 2nd installment, the team is pleased to confirm details of the 3rd in the series and information on how to purchase.
The 5-piece ‘Vortex Edition’ Third Doctor Season Seven Set (1970) with Liz Shaw and Primord will be available in the next few days, exclusively online via www.character-online.com.
This limited-edition Doctor Who Collect & Build “Vortex” set is the third of five launches this year. Each pack includes one or more ‘Vortex’ figures, plus a crucial part of the Collect & Build ‘Yeti’ figure, the right arm. This latest piece forms an essential part of the extraordinary Abominable Snowman figure that can be completed when all five sets have been collected.
About the Figures in the Set
This set includes both a Liz Shaw and Professor Stahlman as ‘Primord’ figure. Dr Elizabeth “Liz” Shaw was with the Third Doctor for a relatively short period of time and first met him when he was exiled to Earth in the 20th century. Together they worked for UNIT, under the Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, and faced many threats, both personal and to the safety of mankind.

Although initially somewhat sceptical of UNIT’s purpose, Liz soon embraced the team and became embroiled in several of the Doctor’s adventures. She came across many foes, including the Nestene-Consciousness with its Auton forces, Silurians, benevolent aliens from deep space and, found out there was even an alternate version of herself on a parallel Earth! She eventually left UNIT to return to academia but was later reunited several times with the Doctor for yet more adventures.
The Liz Shaw figure in this set, is as she was seen in “The Silurians” wearing a bright red dress with copper accent belt, black knee length boots and hair tied back with a brown ribbon. Her figure comes with the ‘Primord’ figure version of Professor Stahlman. The head of Project Inferno, Stahlman was the lead scientist who became infected with a primordial ooze which slowly mutated him into a slavering aggressive ‘Primord’. This figure represents Professor Stahlman fully transformed but still in his white lab coat, tweed suit and waistcoat.
In addition to the Collect & Build piece, two further accessories are included in the set – a Large transparent Auton Energy Sphere from ‘Spearhead from Space 1970’ and the Doctors blue Metebelis Crystal, first seen in ‘The Green Death 1973’.
Al Dewar, Creative Director, Character Options, said: “Firstly I have to say there is always one figure each year that I think is an absolute belter and very quickly zooms to the top of my most liked pile. This year that figure is (by a long way)the Liz Shaw figure. There’s always one that’s just works and one that’s an absolute beast of a struggle … this is 100% the former. I think it turned out better than we could have ever hoped, and really for me, Andrew Teal’s sculpt truly captures the beauty of Caroline John and the essence of Liz Shaw.
“As many collectors are aware, after its future release was leaked online, we cancelled this figure. That original model was arguably a more basic iteration, and I always felt it didn’t quite capture or do justice to Caroline’s John’s beauty as well as it could. Fast forward to when it was time to return to look at Liz Shaw as part of the Collect & Build range, and I’m delighted we went with an all new Liz Shaw sculpt.
“Accompanying Liz on her adventures, although from a different story entirely, is the misguided Professor Stahlman from my favourite Season 7 story INFERNO. Stahlman is a True Third Doctor foe, a brilliant scientist whose egomania gets in the way of common sense and in this case ends up as a slavering growling ‘Primord’. So, to have the Primord sculpted by Ed Barnet-Ward as a figure to accompany the new Liz Shaw figure is hugely satisfying.
“Shall we talk Yeti’s? … So up until now your Collect & Build Yeti has been mostly … ‘armless’ (Dad joke) but hopefully with the head and torso now already in place, you should be able to see the scale of this figure which you have been gradually building! Once this first arm is attached, the articulation of the hands and arms will begin to give you a better sense of the pose-ability and fun you’ll be able to have once fully built. My only advice is …‘Don’t madden it!’’
This Collect & Build set will be available to purchasers of Set two on – we need to finalise these details and exact wording please . It will be exclusively available from www.character-online.co.uk and costs just £44.99 .
For more information on upcoming Collect & Build sets, visit www.character-online.co.uk. To ensure fans have the opportunity to complete their collections, customers purchasing previous sets will receive pre-launch alert emails and a link to early access sale. Early access will be limited to accounts with a purchase history, and customers will be able to purchase up to three sets each.
About the Abominable Snowman figure – This pack comes with the third key part of the ‘Collect & Build’ ‘Abominable Snowman’ (1967) figure: the Yeti’s right arm. This can be assembled with the head from the first set and torso from the 2nd – with just two pieces of the Yeti to come, the assembly is almost complete!

October 6th, 2026 - 12:19pmAre you sure Rob, I just checked and it still says Sold out?
The Unlicensed Physician
October 6th, 2026 - 3:13pmThey didn’t last long. CO also don’t update the pictures on the Collect and Build page though, so that still showed ‘sold out’ but sets were available if you clicked through anyway, as with the 15th Dr set which they still have in stock now.
It’s also worth mentioning that there are some bargains on Ebay if you don’t need the Yeti pieces. There’s been little love for Professor S.
Rob
October 6th, 2026 - 3:59pmThat was yesterday as I put one in the basket and it worked, sold out again as of this morning

October 6th, 2026 - 9:17pmTheres a good deal on ebay for the 4th dr without yeti piece for 21.50 plus postage, if you dont want to buy the whole set

October 7th, 2026 - 3:33pmThe 4th doctor is already on ebay….??

October 1st, 2026 - 11:52pmAfter only wanting to but the Baker bundle for the Abominable Snowman bum and legs. I had to snatch this set up first because I got one of his arms, plus Liz Shaw with the Primord are fantastic figures! When’s the next one going live?

September 30th, 2026 - 12:07pmDo with af a date for the next one
War Chief
September 30th, 2026 - 3:39pmI don’t actually know…..but 5th October sounds like a good bet….
Scotel
September 30th, 2026 - 4:19pmNo we do not have a date (and no it will not be the 5th and please don’t follow this up by saying “must be the 12th then”). There will be a big announcement when the information comes, you won’t be able to miss it.
People here have a tendency to throw out random dates and then get upset when nothing happens.
War Chief.
September 30th, 2026 - 4:34pmI wouldn’t have got upset…
It was just a random date….though based logically on the first 2 releases being on the first Monday of the month….
War Chief.
October 2nd, 2026 - 8:54amIf the November Ark in Space set is delayed, then I well get somewhat ‘upset’….
But with the 4th Doctor figure….meh….it can arrive any time this month, for all I care…
ThePrimordInfectant
October 6th, 2026 - 1:08pmHow do you know Scotel, you’re not an authority. It could be any Tuesday in October. Also nobody has said anything about any delays.
Scotel
October 6th, 2026 - 1:51pmBecause at the time that was posted it was less than a week away and nothing had been announced yet which ruled it out. It will release at some point in October, guessing dates just leads to disappointment. I do not claim to be an authority and never have done.
Yes, there was a delay. The Fourth Doctor set was supposed to release in September but had to be pushed back to October due to problems (which Al Dewar has explained in some of the interviews he has done). If there was going to be any set I wouldn’t be expecting to follow any sort of pattern it would be that one.
Rob
October 6th, 2026 - 4:00pmWe normally get an email the week before, so if there’s one at the end of the week it will tell us Monday
War Chief.
October 6th, 2026 - 4:08pmBut we mustn’t mention the 12th either….apparently…
I guess it will materialise at some stage…

September 30th, 2026 - 12:01pmSOLD OUT!
The Unlicensed Physician
September 30th, 2026 - 1:27pmThat happened a couple of weeks back. You have to be quick with these, usually within three days.
Tardispals
September 20th, 2026 - 11:00pmI am very pleased with my set! Liz Shaw is one of my favourite dollies so far. Pleased the set sold out so quickly too – that must be good for Character Options. My hopes for future dollies include:
– Susan & Barbara
– Nessa
-Adric
– Mel
– Kate Stewart and Osgood
– Jamie
– Dodo
– Sarah Jane Smith in striped dungarees with owl accessory
– Paternoster Gang – Jenny, Madame Vastra and Strax
War Chief.
September 20th, 2026 - 11:18pmI’m always hoping for an Adric….but people seemingly in the know comment it will be several lifetimes before we get one…
The Dr
September 22nd, 2026 - 10:00amWho’s Nessa, you don’t mean Bessie, do you?
RobW
September 22nd, 2026 - 10:22amMaybe Nyssa, or Nessie? 🙂
War Chief.
September 22nd, 2026 - 10:29amI figure that means Nyssa….
The Unlicensed Physician
September 22nd, 2026 - 10:50amHe wants a Gavin & Stacey line. (Corden voodoo dolls.)
Tardispals
September 22nd, 2026 - 11:20amHaha! Yes Nyssa! As played by Sarah Sutton and not Nessa played by Ruth Jones! but then I wouldn’t say no to a cross over!
War Chief.
September 22nd, 2026 - 11:35amAll Ruth Jones means to me is Rising Damp…but that’s probably not correct…
The Dr
September 22nd, 2026 - 7:56pmYes there was a Nessa in Gavin and Stacy.
PJ
September 29th, 2026 - 5:32pmSo when will the next set be released? 5th October?
RobW
September 29th, 2026 - 7:46pmNo, the Loch Ness monster… Nessie
Bookcollector
September 29th, 2026 - 9:08pmYes, ruth Jones in rising damp.
War Chief
September 30th, 2026 - 1:13pmBy ‘not correct’ bookcollector, i meant, its probably unlikely these guys are talking about Rising Damp…!
Bookcollector
September 30th, 2026 - 2:12pmNot our fault war chief that we remember the ruth jones, the original you might say, from before gavin and stacy nicked the name lol
War Chief.
September 20th, 2026 - 9:12pmIt’s just struck me, the Nestene Energy Sphere and blue crystal represent Jon Pertwee’s first and last stories….
I wish there was a Planet of the Spiders Box set…JP in black velvet jacket….Spider Queen…that sort of thing…
Collect and build Great One….? Nah…
The Unlicensed Physician
September 20th, 2026 - 10:30pmPertwee variations should be doable quite easily. I think two or three new components would allow them to do every version quite accurately – a wrap jacket with rounded lapels, a slightly revised cape, and the longer early cravat/tie thing.
War Chief.
September 20th, 2026 - 11:02pmThere was once a (very) early Tom Baker in the black velvet jacket….
They just need to stick a Jon Pertwee head on it instead…
ClaphamRob
September 21st, 2026 - 9:04amMan, a Planet of the Spiders box set would be A-MA-ZING!! That story absolutely terrified me as a child – especially with the spider that was on Sarah Jane Smith’s back! Here’s hoping…!
Andy R
September 21st, 2026 - 10:10amDon’t forget a Sarah Jane with detachable spider on her back.. and they already have the mold for her! Would be awesome 🙂
War Chief.
September 21st, 2026 - 11:52amThe Spider Queen would keep falling off….but come to think of it, its supposed to do that…
Erato
September 22nd, 2026 - 10:45amIf you can get hold of the spiders that came with the Primeval figures, they look fantastic with a Pertwee figure. I have three of them in my collection. I also have some of the Pterodactyls that came with the Primeval figures to go with my Invasion of the Dinosaurs Pertwee figure.
FH
September 20th, 2026 - 3:24pmHas CO changed the type of plastic they use? The plastic on this set is SO soft, it really makes the figures difficult to stand up properly because their legs never stay in position, they’re constantly moving. Plus my Primord’s got a bent leg from being in the plastic shell and Liz Shaw’s legs keep closing if she’s not fully grounded. I don’t know if it’s the mould, the plastic or what but the older figures seemed so sturdy. I put Pertwee’s or the Brigadier’s legs in a position and they stay that way regardless of being grounded or not. Mind you, my Pertwee’s got a bent leg too but it’s not too noticeable and at least it stays in place at the joint.
War Chief.
September 20th, 2026 - 3:34pmAnd there I was saying, how impressed I am with the Liz Shaw figure because she DOES keep standing up…
Unlike the Tegan one in January….
The Unlicensed Physician
September 20th, 2026 - 10:33pmWas it just me laughing at some of the phrasing? Small pleasures and all that.
War Chief.
September 20th, 2026 - 11:06pmYou aren’t thinking I hope of Liz Shaw’s legs, Physician….??
The Unlicensed Physician
September 21st, 2026 - 12:00amMaybe I even found all the “bent legs” funny as well… But that would be too silly, obviously.
Red Five, Where Going In.
September 21st, 2026 - 12:09pmYes, I have to be honest , I did have a little Chuckle when I read FHs Comment. Very Funny.
William
September 20th, 2026 - 11:06amLast night my dog Albert had to be put to sleep because he had a bad leg injury (from his racing days before I got him) and he was in too much pain , the reason I am posting this on here is because on Friday I took a picture of him with the season 7 set and that now makes the season 7 set extra special for me .
simon.ss1
September 20th, 2026 - 12:13pmSo sorry to hear that, William. I understand why your picture of Albert makes your Season 7 set special. Many years ago, I lost my cat, Puss. In her prime she gnawed and left her teeth marks on a corner of my 1973 Dr Who Annual. Those teeth marks are now a very, very treasured memory of Puss. Am sure your Season 7 set and picture will one day give you the same happy reminder of Albert.
KORSAIR
September 19th, 2026 - 10:37pmGot my set this morning, very pleased with it.
Gareth Pugh
September 19th, 2026 - 2:29pmTo Scotel’s point, because these sets are clearly selling out – and VERY quickly – to quite a deep-diving level of fans, you can probably frame ‘popular’ in this context pretty broadly – I think thinks like a ‘Build-a-Figure Zarbi’, or ‘Build-a-Figure Kroton’, for example, would not have interested the general public buying from Toys R Us in the Tennant-tastic hey-day of the late noughties, but this is probably a more committed and more into-the-lore-including-obscure audience we’re talking and those sorts of choices would definitely be snapped up.
The Monitor
September 19th, 2026 - 1:10pmAppropriately, mine arrived today, on the day of her birth, 19th September. Season 7 was way ahead of its time. This figure set is very welcome indeed.
Red Five, Where Going In.
September 19th, 2026 - 11:08amI hope next year CO find a way to get out the Vespiform again. Although I wouldn’t want it to be next Years “Build a Figure” as I would like a Completely New figure next year. So come on CO get your Finger out.
Mr Robert Watkins
September 19th, 2026 - 12:06pmThe BAF/CAB needs to be something very popular. The things I can only think of are:
Web Yeti – but don’t it so soon after this yeti
Azal
Emperor Dalek – although I’d like this as one big mold
I can’t see it being the Tardis interior or Bessie as too big.
War Machine – Limited popularity
What do you think?
War Chief
September 19th, 2026 - 12:18pmWar Machine would be nice….and the Emperor Dalek…!
Scotel
September 19th, 2026 - 1:57pmAl Dewar has mentioned the first proposal he sent to the BBC for this years Collect and Build was the Kandyman (which of course got rejected for reasons we can all guess).
I wouldn’t get too caught up on what’s “popular”, the main factors will be how practical it is to break up and display the smaller parts in packaging and having a distinctive visual to sell it on.
Red Five, Where Going In.
September 19th, 2026 - 3:12pmRobert, I think Azal, War Machine or even a Kroton would all be Great as a Build a Figure.
Red Five, Where Going In.
September 19th, 2026 - 3:28pmA “Build a Figure” Winged Menoptera or a Zarbi would be rather nice Aswell?
RobW
September 19th, 2026 - 11:44pmI bet the BBC were having a right meltdown over the Kandyman idea.
Someone on gallybase popped off a clip on the arm and like the chest piece, it looks like the yeti is reusable for a mark two. It would be interesting to know if this would be a future CAB/BAF or standalone release.
I think Azal would be pretty cool, you don’t have to have him giant size as he starts off small and grows. They rereleased the Daemons figure set at the same time as it’s hard to find.
The Unlicensed Physician
September 20th, 2026 - 10:38pmKandyman should be fine now under the laws protecting parody – look at the previously problematic Judge Dredd storyline. No one wants to pay for the lawyers to OK it I guess.
Scotel
September 20th, 2026 - 11:36pmThe problem there is the BBC never tried to argue it was parody but rather an unintended similarity and accepted fault. It would be rather difficult for any lawyer to try and argue any different now 40 years later just because the law’s changed in the mean time.
The Unlicensed Physician
September 21st, 2026 - 12:13amTrust them to roll over… “We honestly never noticed that he looked like an evil Bertie Bassett and we’re so, so sorry.” At least they haven’t rolled over for The Donald. The BBC: Scared of Bertie Bassett, but not an Oompa Loompa.
Duncan
September 22nd, 2026 - 12:07pmId like 3, Delgado Master and a Keller Machine !
Duncan
September 22nd, 2026 - 12:08pm@Mr Robert Watkins
Azal would be great. As would Bok !
Kev
September 22nd, 2026 - 1:12pmI’m doubtful of a second BAF straight away, I’d say 2028 to get the agreements and tooling etc. Unless of course, there is one well along the development line.
War Chief.
September 22nd, 2026 - 1:26pmWe had Bok….
I wasn’t that happy with it…it seemed too small…
Red 5 Where Going in.
September 22nd, 2026 - 8:01pmWasn’t Bok in a 3 pack with the Master?
War Chief.
September 22nd, 2026 - 8:27pmBok, Magister Master….and the Brigadier, I think…
