Forthcoming Classic Doctor Who DVD’s
All available to order from www.bbcshop.com
Forthcoming Classic Doctor Who DVD’s including The Tenth Planet, Terror of the Zygons, Scream of the Shalka, The Ice Warriors and more…
Doctor Who: The Tenth Planet
The TARDIS arrives in December 1986 at a South Pole Space Tracking station where the personnel, under the command of General Cutler, are engaged in trying to talk down a manned space capsule that has got into difficulty.
The base is invaded by a force of alien Cybermen. The Cybermen’s world, Mondas, is draining energy from Earth – once its ‘twin planet’ – and the situation will soon become critical
Doctor Who Terror of the Zygons
Another adventure for everyone’s favourite time-traveller.
Answering the Brigadier’s space/time telegraph, the Doctor (Tom Baker), Sarah and Harry arrive in the village of Tulloch, near Loch Ness. A series of attacks have taken place on local oil rigs, and many are blaming the legendary monster.
The Doctor discovers the creature to be the Skarasen – cyborg pet of invading aliens the Zygons. Their own planet having been destroyed and their spaceship crippled, these deadly shape-shifters are now intent upon taking control of the planet Earth.
Doctor Who: Scream of the Shalka
The first official, fully animated Doctor Who story! Starring Richard E. Grant.
The TARDIS lands in a small English village in 2003, where the population are living in fear from a malevolent alien force.
With the help of UNIT and his new friend Alison, the Doctor discovers that a race called Shalka are residing underground, preparing to strip away the Earth’s ozone layer and embark on a full-scale invasion of the planet.
Doctor Who: The Ice Warriors
Doctor Who: The Ice Warriors – The classic Second Doctor adventure – complete at last with two animated episodes!
In the distant future, Earth faces a new Ice Age. While a dedicated team of scientists battle to hold the approaching glaciers at bay, a startling discovery is made deep within the ice… an alien warrior, frozen for millennia.
When the Doctor, Jamie and Victoria arrive they soon discover Earth is under threat from the Ice Warriors – fearsome Martians intent on conquering our planet for themselves…
Doctor Who – The Monster Collection
Take a trip through time and space to meet creatures and enemies that always came back for more…

September 6th, 2013 - 11:42pmIt’s a shame the classic DVD line is ending but I suppose it had to finish sometime. All that’s left to say now is really…
“It’s the end… but the moment has been prepared for…”

September 6th, 2013 - 5:01pmOh no.. I knew it would have to happen, but the end of the classic Doctor Who DVDs. Sad days for all, sadder still for those in possession of all the existing ones (a number in which I count myself, thankfully, not one of). But this isn’t goodbye!
kiwi1963
September 6th, 2013 - 10:32amI think they mean the last one for the foreseeable future unless they animate the crusade or more

September 6th, 2013 - 10:17am‘Our final DW DVDs!…’
I guess this then puts to rest all those rumors regarding missing episodes being found…

September 6th, 2013 - 8:39pmUnfortunately not, the DVD team were the last to find out last time there was a discovery.
We may still live in hope.

September 7th, 2013 - 9:03amNot exactly true; this tweet was posted by the Restoration Team and one of it’s members, Steve Roberts, was one of the first to know. In fact Ralph Montagu informed Steve before anyone on Wednesday 20 July 2011 that he had recovered Air Lock.
However, others involved in the DVD production (for example) Dan Hall were not told until much later, in fact I believe I read somewhere not until after MBW.

September 6th, 2013 - 8:16amYou can also email BBC Worldwide – not sure of the address at moment to thank them for all the work they’ve done and politely ask them to consider animating other stories like Crusade.

September 6th, 2013 - 4:21amGood news!
Cyberleader1010
September 5th, 2013 - 11:37pmI will probably pick up the Underwater Menace as I’d like to see the newly recovered episode 2 and also as it’s one of the final DVD releases.

September 5th, 2013 - 10:50pmWhere do we go from here? Is this really the end?

September 5th, 2013 - 10:08pmSorry. Look at comment below.

September 5th, 2013 - 9:48pmI KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT
Let’s just hope that the crusade and mission to the unknown receive the same treatment.
Here’s an idea, since they are episodically consecutive, should they be released in a box set?
And if so, what should it be called?
MasterKasterborous
September 5th, 2013 - 9:56pmBut sadly that’s not how the budgeting works; they’ll be separate. Other than they’re next to each other they don’t have a link so it would end up being like The Rescue/The Romans or The Space Museum/The Chase.
skaroman
September 5th, 2013 - 9:58pmI mean the underwater menace and the moonbase in a box set together.
Fezmeister
September 5th, 2013 - 10:01pmMasterKasterborous didn’t contradict that. He also explained why that won’t happen.
skaroman
September 5th, 2013 - 10:07pmBut they’re both Troughton episodes with half their episodes missing and animated and are consecutive.
Remember that the only link between the space museum / the chase was only because of the at end of the space museum and the leading onto the chase.
Don’t chance my dear fellow. Hm hm hm hm…
(LOL Hartnell joke)

September 6th, 2013 - 8:14amThey could call it “the final end”
MasterKasterborous
September 6th, 2013 - 6:24pmI know that the two I mentioned only have the ‘consecutive’ link but they were commissioned as Box Set releases. The Underwater Menace and The Moonbase have been commissioned as separate releases (only two animated episodes per release is currently possible) and cannot just be joined however nice an idea that would be.

September 5th, 2013 - 9:39pmPLEASE do more I wanna see more animation work for the Moore interesting and unusual episodes for example the celestial toymaker , fury from the deep and web of fear what episodes would YOU want to see animated if you could choose 3?
RenegadeD

Toymaker.
Wheel in space.

Power of the daleks
celestial toymaker
September 5th, 2013 - 9:09pmReally shocked they r not doing anymore special editions and its so sad that the range coming to an end after all these years
Imaginethatnodoor
September 5th, 2013 - 8:40pmSo…. They’re animating the underwater menace??
Some bloke
September 5th, 2013 - 10:52pmmost likely, otherwise they wouldn’t be releasing it
dalekwho
September 5th, 2013 - 8:15pmI think I know what happen to the missing episodes someone went back in time to save them not know that made them missing episodes.
Anonymous
September 5th, 2013 - 7:34pmI hope they are just kidding about the final releases I mean there are still so many to release ( missing episodes ) and I can’t beleve they’re not gonna do anymore special edittions there are some that need re releasing such as earthshock, the mind robber, ghostlight and curse of fenric and I really want a release of the crusaders but i hope if these are the last I want them released in a box set p.s. I LOVE THE MOONBASE!!!!

September 5th, 2013 - 7:38pmThere are some corners of the universe which have bread the most terrible things…….
Some bloke
September 5th, 2013 - 7:41pmwhat other missing episodes haven’t been released?
MasterKasterborous
September 5th, 2013 - 7:44pmThis is the final release they are currently down for; things might change bit we’ll have to wait and see.
HornsOfAzal
September 6th, 2013 - 9:16pmIf the docudrama is any good they should get david and co. to remake Marco Polo…..
MasterKasterborous
September 6th, 2013 - 9:56pmHowever much I think that would be great as a special feature for me it has to have the original soundtrack and animation or reconstruction otherwise it’s too far removed from the original.
Callum Metcalfe
September 5th, 2013 - 7:13pmI’m so excited about this release 🙂
WFK DVD Collector 13
September 5th, 2013 - 6:19pmWhat about the crusade?
It’s only missing episodes 2&4!!!
Do they mean the final Troughton DVDs???
They can’t just forget the crusade, it’s a very important DVD, as then we will have a complete classic season 2. And it’s only missing two episodes!!!
Some bloke
September 5th, 2013 - 6:53pmI think they mean final as in final. I wish and hope they do, but by the sounds of it they don’t have the crusade planned 🙁
starshipalaska
September 5th, 2013 - 7:13pmThe Crusade episodes 1 and 3 are available as part of the Lost in Time DVD, with episodes 2 and 4 on the DVD as audio soundtracks.
Some bloke
September 5th, 2013 - 7:42pmso… they did the same with the moonbase and yet they’re animating that, so why not crusades?
Jamiouse
September 5th, 2013 - 8:36pmThe Moonbase will make money because of the Cybermen, The Crusade on the other hand is an historical which aren’t as popular and I think don’t sell as well. It’s finances really.
skaroman
September 5th, 2013 - 9:44pmBut the reign of terror was historical and I thought it was one of the best historical adventures ever!
Jamiouse
September 5th, 2013 - 9:56pmReign was a ‘tester’ to see how the newly animated releases were recieved and I think possibily a tester to see how an animated historical sells.
WFK DVD Collector 13
September 6th, 2013 - 9:18amOh well life goes on… At lest we’re getting the underwater menace!
The TARDIS
September 5th, 2013 - 6:10pmIt would be nice if they were to slowly go through and fill in the gaps of missing ones, so slowly get through those with more missing episodes animated. It would be good to see, for example, one or two a year, so we may get to see the likes of The Daleks’ Masterplan on DVD, or The Power of the Daleks.
Joel Mole
September 5th, 2013 - 5:35pmf…f…final???
drwhofan4ever
September 5th, 2013 - 5:27pmnot all the episodes are released yet are they?
Some bloke
September 5th, 2013 - 5:32pmyes they would have been once these 2 have been released, unless they plan to animate ‘The Crusade’, then everything will have been released
Andrew
September 5th, 2013 - 5:21pmWhat does it mean final?? are the stopping the dvds? BTW isnt all but episode 3 of the underwater menace missing? And theres only two episodes of the moonbade right? id love to see that one animated!
Some bloke
September 5th, 2013 - 5:29pmno… at the end of 2011 they announced that they had found episode 2 of underwater menace and galaxy 4 episode 3, which means that underwater menace episodes 2 and 3 exist now. HOW COULD YOU HAVE NOT KNOWN THIS!
MasterKasterborous
September 5th, 2013 - 7:08pmWhen this is released on DVD they’ll all be on DVD; so it’s not a huge surprise the range is coming to an end.
Andrew
September 6th, 2013 - 11:21amwow, I didn’t know they found more, I hope that bloke who went on a journey found more episodes! And some of galaxy 4 has been found?!? I remember watching a documentry about it, didn’t think it would be found.
MasterKasterborous
September 6th, 2013 - 6:26pmOnly episode three of Galaxy 4 has been found. Despite rumours (there have always been rumours for the past 30 years mind) I think it’s pretty safe to say these are the only ones to have been recovered recently.
MasterKasterborous
September 7th, 2013 - 9:05amAnd of course The Underwater Menace Episode 2, I meant that find as a whole but I don’t think that really cam across.
Cpl Hicks
September 5th, 2013 - 5:12pmExcellent, I only have 49 of the Classic (available and coming soon) titles to collect!
drwhofan4ever
September 5th, 2013 - 5:03pmyes what i wanted however it says these are the final DVDs does that mean no more DVDs are to be released

September 5th, 2013 - 4:19pmYes. That’s all I’m saying. Yes.
MasterKasterborous
September 5th, 2013 - 4:19pmI just hope it’s being completed with animation; has got to be the reason it’s taken so long.
