Doctor Who Collect and Build Yeti Season 7 Set Liz Shaw and Primord

Character Options details its eagerly awaited Doctor Who Collect & Build Set 3.

2026 has seen the reimagiation of Character Options’ Collect & Build series for its iconic Doctor Who Figures. After the rapid sell out of the debut and subsequent 2nd installment, the team is pleased to confirm details of the 3rd in the series and information on how to purchase.

The 5-piece ‘Vortex Edition’ Third Doctor Season Seven Set (1970) with Liz Shaw and Primord will be available in the next few days, exclusively online via www.character-online.com.

This limited-edition Doctor Who Collect & Build “Vortex” set is the third of five launches this year. Each pack includes one or more ‘Vortex’ figures, plus a crucial part of the Collect & Build ‘Yeti’ figure, the right arm. This latest piece forms an essential part of the extraordinary Abominable Snowman figure that can be completed when all five sets have been collected.

About the Figures in the Set

This set includes both a Liz Shaw and Professor Stahlman as ‘Primord’ figure. Dr Elizabeth “Liz” Shaw was with the Third Doctor for a relatively short period of time and first met him when he was exiled to Earth in the 20th century. Together they worked for UNIT, under the Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, and faced many threats, both personal and to the safety of mankind.

Although initially somewhat sceptical of UNIT’s purpose, Liz soon embraced the team and became embroiled in several of the Doctor’s adventures. She came across many foes, including the Nestene-Consciousness with its Auton forces, Silurians, benevolent aliens from deep space and, found out there was even an alternate version of herself on a parallel Earth! She eventually left UNIT to return to academia but was later reunited several times with the Doctor for yet more adventures.

The Liz Shaw figure in this set, is as she was seen in “The Silurians” wearing a bright red dress with copper accent belt, black knee length boots and hair tied back with a brown ribbon. Her figure comes with the ‘Primord’ figure version of Professor Stahlman. The head of Project Inferno, Stahlman was the lead scientist who became infected with a primordial ooze which slowly mutated him into a slavering aggressive ‘Primord’. This figure represents Professor Stahlman fully transformed but still in his white lab coat, tweed suit and waistcoat.

In addition to the Collect & Build piece, two further accessories are included in the set – a Large transparent Auton Energy Sphere from ‘Spearhead from Space 1970’ and the Doctors blue Metebelis Crystal, first seen in ‘The Green Death 1973’.

Al Dewar, Creative Director, Character Options, said: “Firstly I have to say there is always one figure each year that I think is an absolute belter and very quickly zooms to the top of my most liked pile. This year that figure is (by a long way)the Liz Shaw figure. There’s always one that’s just works and one that’s an absolute beast of a struggle … this is 100% the former. I think it turned out better than we could have ever hoped, and really for me, Andrew Teal’s sculpt truly captures the beauty of Caroline John and the essence of Liz Shaw.

“As many collectors are aware, after its future release was leaked online, we cancelled this figure. That original model was arguably a more basic iteration, and I always felt it didn’t quite capture or do justice to Caroline’s John’s beauty as well as it could. Fast forward to when it was time to return to look at Liz Shaw as part of the Collect & Build range, and I’m delighted we went with an all new Liz Shaw sculpt.

“Accompanying Liz on her adventures, although from a different story entirely, is the misguided Professor Stahlman from my favourite Season 7 story INFERNO. Stahlman is a True Third Doctor foe, a brilliant scientist whose egomania gets in the way of common sense and in this case ends up as a slavering growling ‘Primord’. So, to have the Primord sculpted by Ed Barnet-Ward as a figure to accompany the new Liz Shaw figure is hugely satisfying.

“Shall we talk Yeti’s? … So up until now your Collect & Build Yeti has been mostly … ‘armless’ (Dad joke) but hopefully with the head and torso now already in place, you should be able to see the scale of this figure which you have been gradually building! Once this first arm is attached, the articulation of the hands and arms will begin to give you a better sense of the pose-ability and fun you’ll be able to have once fully built. My only advice is …‘Don’t madden it!’’

About the Abominable Snowman figure – This pack comes with the third key part of the ‘Collect & Build’ ‘Abominable Snowman’ (1967) figure: the Yeti’s right arm. This can be assembled with the head from the first set and torso from the 2nd – with just two pieces of the Yeti to come, the assembly is almost complete!
