This one looks stupid next to literally everything because of how they’ve messed up the scale of it. Completely different size to the original Davros

Hey, Crosby. I received an email first thing today saying 210 & 211 had been dispatched, and they were delivered at lunchtime. I’ve now received another email saying Gravis has been dispatched, so I guess it’s coming separate – maybe with the special Dalek. As it’s Eaglemoss, I won’t hold my breath – so hopefully you’ll receive yours separately too. In my experience, there’s no point in contacting EM customer service – they have no idea and different representatives contradict each other.

Finally my FP deliveries just arrived 12th along with Raston and impaled cyberman. They all look amazing. I am almost complete and up to date now. Time for some mantel rearranging and then a coffee i think. lovely start to the day. Just a Gravis and Servo to wait for next.

Actually peters quite small in scale to the regulars but we,ve come to expect this anyway. I did think the Raston spear impaling the cyberman was already attached but comes as a separate piece.

Still 211. I’ve spoke to Eaglemoss
Customer Service will amend website error stating it’s 207 at some point.

I ordered the Twelfth Doctor in Davros’s chair on Dec 30th from the Eaglemoss Collection shop and DPD delivered the Weaponised Security dalek instead, so it appears that there’s been a mix-up with the Collection shops listing.

I had a feeling that I would be sent the dalek so I wasn’t too bothered as I do like the Security dalek.

I agree but at least these keep us in the know. They should reveal things sooner rather than taking forever to dripfeed a few official pictures. And these before a lot still havent recieved issues 204 and 5.

An early surprise in the shop with Santa, Navarino and Solonian mutt add to Basket is the only thing thats going to get me into the christmas spirit now after all these sparce, abysmal months worth of deliveries.

Well the picturesque snow covered views from the windows make up for it. Thats a sort of levelling up for the north if no figurines.

This’ll look interesting next to the other Davros’s XD

I’m still over here dreaming about

    – Cracked neutral angel from series 5
    – natural ood with brain
    – the elder Ood
    – neutral Silent (if the quality is the same as the first silent they ever did back in the peak days)
    – Donna, wilf and Ten set
Heck give me Jackie, Mickey and Sarah Jane as well I wont complain

Also begging for a miracle that they get a Sarah Jane license purely for the trickster

Yeh good point. Although people need to understand you can separate actor from character.

Another thing that would be nice would be sontarans with their helmets on, it’s only just dawned on me that all the ones so far have been the helmetless versions. I definitely want a helmeted series 4 and series 13 sontaran. Because doesn’t look like character are going to deliver the goods.

Might not get Mickey considering what he’s done but then again they seem to be reporting more about John Barrowman than Noel Clarke which I think is wrong

Love this figurine choice. I bet that Mr Capaldi himself would like this one as well. Good work, EM!

Any chance of the Terileptil Android? The First Doctor inside the Dalek from the Space Museum – another dodgem!

      🙁

I’m hoping there’s a few more classic monsters in the works before the ‘final end’!

    • The ergon

      November 2nd, 2021 - 10:43pm

I think we might have to customise a few doug. I still think they should pave the way for more boxsets and specials and call it a day with the singles at 220.

    • Doug Who

      November 2nd, 2021 - 11:58pm

Yes! I have a couple of ‘specials’ I’m planning on sculpting…one a bit experimental plus a mini-figurine when I get the time. I still have to finish my Kandyman…

I wonder how many characters are in limbo in terms of negotiating rights like the Wood Beast? That might limit what can be done for box sets although I’d love to see a series of monsters and villains double packs as I’ve said before.

    • The ergon

      November 3rd, 2021 - 12:11am

That kandyman is always in its finishing stages but never quite complete. Its just in a cupboard just waiting. Theres 2 just about done or as good as they are going to get. They are getting cast when ive done the decorating and then lo and behold christmas is here again. If they are to go in the cabinet they need to look good to me. Lets just say there has been much evolving having seen something i didnt see first time around.

    • Doug Who

      November 3rd, 2021 - 12:29am

The Kandyman sits there patiently, unfinished, staring blankly! Wonder which one of us will make it to the finish line first..?

Look forward to seeing your finished ones and to hearing all about the evolving process.

The good money would be on you Doug but it will get done.. Those customs you made were great alongside colemans.( i,m still blown away by his Menoptera) I,d like to see more people atttempt something new in polymer. As for the evolving process, just when i think i cannot find anything else to add to the figurine, theres a still or shot on screen that finds something else. I try to work out where this features on the structure but more often than not requires a little embelishment to try and work out how this might come together. For example How would you create a full bodied Bandril with only the Head to work on or a rill which at least has animation to try to fully realise how it might look in its entirety. This is the dilemma you face when trying to craft something to your ideal.

    • Doug Who

      November 3rd, 2021 - 2:06pm

Yes it can be frustrating getting the full picture especially when the show itself is perhaps, shall we say, trying to disguise some shortcomings of the character’s realisation! The version of the Rutan I did was a creative extrapolation based on very brief (and slightly contradictory) appearances on screen.

Neil said somewhere there had been some debates about Eaglemoss doing a Drashig and whether it should be the whole, caterpillar-like body or just the top half as if emerging from the swamp. I have to say it just makes their job sound blissful! Imagine being paid for conversations like those? Although I’m sure it’s not all fun and comes with plenty of stress. For what its worth, I’d love them to do the full Drashig!

Thinking of the Rill, the unofficial 90s ‘Mini Terror’ model series only featured the top half with a flat base, (and also did the same with a Drashig) while Harlequin’s version had a kind of seal body. As you say, I’m sure we’ll get a fuller version with the upcoming animation.

I don’t think I’d bother with something like the Bandril, but I did think of doing a ‘Root’ from ‘Death to the Daleks’ emerging directly from the flat base.

    • The ergon

      November 3rd, 2021 - 6:44pm

Coincidently Im watching death to the daleks at the moment . I too was considering a root but may just leave you to it now youve brought it up. I feel you could do it betterjustice. Id most probably go a step too far and include the crane wire. Similar in style to its junior prototype from The krotons. Id really like full drashig if it ever sees light of day.

What about Ian Chesterton inside Dalek from The Daleks

    • Rex Farrel

      November 4th, 2021 - 2:55am

There must be a picture of a full Rill somewhere, because it was on display in an exhibition. We just have to wait for someone to find granddad’s old photos, put them online, and a Who fan to spot what the random monster is.

    • Doug Who

      November 4th, 2021 - 3:25pm

Yes Rex there seems to be images (even film) existing of all the exhibits at that Daily Mail ‘Boys & Girls Exhibition’ except the Rills! Maybe one day as you say some will turn up in an attic! Images seem to be still turning up in news agencies’ archives so you never know!

It will be interesting to see what the animation will do with them…not long to wait!
