Figurine Collection Magazine Issue 158 Davros (Genesis of The Daleks)

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.com

The Doctor Who Figurine Collection part 158 features Davros, creator of the Daleks, as he appears in the 1975 adventure ‘Genesis of the Daleks’.

On a mission for the Time Lords, the Doctor is ordered to either avert the Daleks’ creation or attempt to make them less aggressive.

But time isn’t on the Doctor’s side. Davros has realised his people, the Kaleds, can’t survive Skaro’s poisoned atmosphere, and so has force-evolved their ultimate form. These mutants will thrive and, instilled with the belief theyare superior to all other life, they begin to massacre everyone they can find – even exterminating Davros…

When is this due? I’m a subscriber so could be anytime but what’s the shop date as I can keep an eye out on when to expect. Really excited for this one!

What I meant was most shops only have part works in up to issue 6 then you have to place a regular order with shop or subscribe to the part work that’s how it works where I live anyway

Really curious as to wether there are any plans to make a dorium maldovar figurine. He’s one of my favourite underrated characters.

I know Simon who played Doriem, I know 100% he would like a figurine. I don’t know if Eaglemoss have to get permission from actors etc? Is the Absorbaloff off limits because it was a Blue Peter design? We have 0 Absorbaloff merchandise and he’s incredibly iconic.

Warlord games managed to do one so it must be possible, at one time Peter Kay didn’t want anything to do with it perhaps he’s mellowed a bit.

Dorium isn’t in the list up to issue 180, and nor is the Abzorbaloff. I’m really sorry.

I pointed this out a while ago that (if the collection finishes at 180, and I’m hoping it won’t) there will always be characters that won’t be included.

I hope people understand that we don’t want one particular character or prefer one character over another.

They cant be far away from making a decision i would have thought, would image cost is a factor, keeping something the same price for 5+ years is a big ask, especially at the moment.

There are quite a few characters from series 6 that I’d love to see in figurine form.

      Gantok with some skulls
      Dorium
      Madame Kovarian
      Headless monk

We’ve got next to nothing from those characters and in my eyes they are all really good.

With all the current excitement surrounding the new Character Options Big Finish Dalek variants for B&M, I can’t help thinking how much more exciting it would be if Eaglemoss tackled some of the more exciting variants without the restriction of having to use existing moulds…

Looking forward to adding this to my Dalek Collection as these are the only ones I display even though I’m a subscriber.

I have just received my Rare Dalek 7 from The Chase. 3 years ago the figurine was missing from my parcel. Thought I’d never get it but they promised it was on back order and I’d been emailing them yearly for updates. Think it is one of my favourites.

Only a few more Daleks to go I guess…

I think they mean their store stopped stocking after issue 6 so you have to ask them to order in, a lot of newsagents are like this.

they don’t mean shops shouldn’t have them at all.

Oddly I think julian beech is the closest to wishers davros is terms of performance. I also think that the newest version looks more real. This original version is excellent but it’s a bit static. A great design for 1975 but technically much improved since

What do you mean? If you are confused by my comment I’ll explain.
I think Michael wisher gave a superb performance in 1975. I also think that julian beech has given the closest matching performance since then. The design of the mask in 1975 is excellent but due to the limitations of the age is static and obviously a mask. The newest version is technically far superior and looks more like a real person’s face than a mask. Nothing contradictory at all.

Destiny is the same mask, prop and costume. I hardly think they would bother. Just buy a second Wisher and leave it out to get dusty.

    • The ergon

      July 25th, 2019 - 7:22am

There is a slight difference if you look at gooderson which they did to differentiate which ‘Character Toys’ managed to get right. Its the same with Bleach. his Davros mask but was much improved for ‘The magicians apprentice/Witches familiar, although its said this might not get done as they say it looks similar but i see a difference.
And yes, Davros from Resurrection or Revelation in full,or even as ‘The great healer’.

    • Neil Corry

      July 29th, 2019 - 8:03am

We’re unlikely to do a Gooderson Davros, and certainly not before issue 180 (no news of an extension, before people ask). It’s too similar to the Wisher Davros, especially at the size of our figurines.

Will they be doing a seperate Binder to hold the Special Edition magazines? A bit like how we got a Dalek one? And are there any plans to do another Stand for the subscriber Daleks?

      Thanks.

I hope theres a little restraint on the painting of his jacket. My Linx figure was covered in a hideously tarry black layer and looks absolutely dreadful. Hope they manage to avoid the same thing on this one.

Leeds as in the shop that never has anything in that section apart from the same copy of marvel collection for 2 or 3 months.

I presume they sell out fast then.

Everytime i,ve gone early they’v,e always had them in. Just before the counter. You must be going too late or everybody is thinking, get in early why,ll the going is good. I would always turn up there half hour after the place has opened, and there is usually quite a few. Go early or forget it.

If they are broke at WHSmith won’t be buying it as its faulty.
