Doctor Who Paradise Towers Audio CD

Doctor Who : Paradise Towers Audio CD

Built towards the end of the twenty-first century, Paradise Towers is a massive housing block, stretching up towards the sky.

With its beautiful decor, smart apartments, fantastic facilities and high standards of maintenance, it is hardly surprising that the architect, Kroagnon, won many professional awards.

When Mel and the Doctor arrive, instead of the bright squares and charming cloisters the brochure promised, they find dark, rat-infested corridors full of uncontrollable cleaning machines, undisciplined street gangs, and belligerent caretakers. How could such perfect accommodation have become so run down and dangerous?

Bonnie Langford’s reading of the novelisation is wonderful. Many of her performances of the characters are spot on, especially the Chief Caretaker, Tilda and Tabby.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.

Me neither. I never like audio books; I like either reading books or watching the story on TV!

Lawl ! I dislike the story Paradise Towers, I think after Time and the Rani, this story would have worsened the start to the season.

So instead of watching it on DVD, I will buy this.

This probably won’t interest everyone, but I like the fact the cover has the caretakers on it, and i’m wondering if this was all the original cover art for the target book or whether the caretakers have been added on for this – i’m only wondering because i’ve owned the target book for 20+ years so this has added a new dimension.

Always loved the cover for this story, I agree the Chief Caretaker and Deputy must have been on the original artwork which because of the books format were not possible to show. I would buy it alone for that! But also i love the story as well!

The artwork with the caretakers is from another painting by Alister Pearson, and the designer at Audio Go has blended it with the original book cover painting.

No, the book is read by the actress who is recorded onto the DVD.
