But have decided to give the 5th Doctor a break for a while, have seen all the stories from Earthshock to the Five Doctors.

I really want to watch Nightmare of Eden on DVD now, but should wait for it to come down in price. πŸ™ ………………

πŸ™ but you could easily get Robots of death the Three Doctor the Caves of Adrozahni from the Revisitations 1 + 3 sets, which are available now !

You’re choice, but the DVDs of Three Doctors and Robots of Death in particular are rubbish, it won’t be as good.

You should atleast get DVDS of stories which aren’t otherwise being rereleased !

It’s your choice but this would be unwise. ❗

Well you live up to your name “Doctor Who DVD Collector”. I too collect every version of DVDs. I would never get rid of the first versions. I never watch any extra features. Where time is short, I would rather just get on with watching another story than watch the extra features.

I think there is a good possibility we will get ambassadors this year. Peter crocker who deals with visual restoration said on the galifrey base forum on the 5th of february:Work recommences on “The Ambassadors of Death” tomorrow, with a target completion date of early March. Providing nothing goes wrong it should be finished round about any day now. As everything else except artwork has been done for it i would say there is a good chance of release this year butif it does it wont come out till at least about august time at the earliest.

    • Doctor Who DVD Collector

      March 12th, 2012 - 3:17pm

That might not be true. I dont think that it would be coming out this year because we already know what DVD releases there are going to be.

    • gordon

      March 13th, 2012 - 6:56pm

I never said it was true. Only said it was a possibility that we might get it this year . We know roughly what we are getting but we dont the final list yet. We know the exact release date of the first 6 months of the year but the releases of the 2nd Half of the year have yet to go up for preorder. There might a suprise knowing 2e in the past ie the suprise appearance last year of colony in space and in 2010 seeds of doom. Just because something is listed as coming out in a certain year doesnt mean it will be. Plans change.

    • gordon

      March 13th, 2012 - 7:00pm

Look at ambassadors (originally scheduled 2011) and zygons (stated as a 2012 release despite the fact it wasnt) as 2 examples

Point at me and say I’m mad, but out of the Face of Evil, the Daemons, and this, I think THIS is the one I’m going to buy first.

Why ? Because the last time I watched Tom Baker it was the whole Key to time season (instead of the Pirate planet I watched the linking story, Ferrils Folly, bigfinish), and the creature from the pit.

So this would be a good continuation before I watch Meglos and Espace trilogy. πŸ˜€ Had this all planned in advance, πŸ˜‰

    • booboo

      February 17th, 2012 - 7:17pm

there were full episodes plus many bits from the other episodes including a lot of the end so the could animate the missing parts

    • Gordon

      February 17th, 2012 - 10:37pm

Shada will be getting a dvd release later this year in a legacy box set with more than 30 years in the tardis. Its not getting animated. Ian levine did do animation of it with the purpose of selling it to 2e but it fell through for an unknown reason

    • booboo

      February 18th, 2012 - 9:36am

there is no original audio of the missing bits as they were never filmed. Tom Baker narrated the gaps on the VHS release

Its that vhs version that is getting released.

Now that you mentioned that, they terrified me too, thinking they will come out of the cupboard singing Tick Tock Goes the Clock and saying ” Don’t run away. We just want to play!” But they are awesome now, DW never scares me except the Flood. I like Tenza now, Tenzas are cool!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Another scariest monster though is The Weeping Angels. They were scary in Blink but they kind of lost their touch (no pun intended) in The Time Of Angels/Flesh And Stone. They were good in Touched By An Angel though and I can’t wait to see (or read) what tricks (no pun intended) they’ll throw at us in Magic Of The Angels! πŸ˜€

Don’t bother! Just buy the lot & start from the beginning with the 1st. Doctor like I did. That way you can catch up on all the references made over the last few years & enjoy it all from the original daleks as they progress through the years as well as everything else…

Yes, but I have seen the 1st Doctor’s An Unearthly Child, and I SERIOUSLY didn’t like him!

The Silurian and Sea Devil stories are all in a boxset called Beneath The Surface. They were the first I got so I’m not really watching the classics in order that much. I’d also recommend Day Of The Daleks.

The First Doctor does get better according to many Whovians. I’ve only seen An Unearthly Child (I do have The Beginning boxset but I need to watch the others) too but I trust what Whovians say!

Jon Pertwee (Third Doctor) is my favourite Doctor and Peter Davison (Fifth Doctor) is my fourth favourite! I suggest you watch the clasic Silurian/Sea Devil stories. They’re the first classic stories I properly watched and I loved them. The Hand Of Fear (Sarah Janes last classic story) is another great one.

Horror Of Fang Rock is another amazing story. For something made in the late 70’s it looks great and the atmosphere is chilling and the tone is very dark. A must see! πŸ™‚

Remembrance of the daleks is a good one for new viewers I think, a good story with great acting from regulars and guests. It has a few surprises and twists, and also has links to the beginnings of Doctor Who. It may not be the very best but a good start

      3. The Robots Of Death

After watching the Key to Time series on VHS, I wanted to see this story, since there was no DVD (yet. πŸ˜‰ ) I bought and read the book.

I can tell you now, this is a story I really like.

Wonder if the episode will be as good as the novel so far, the Novel so far is sometimes quite actioney, with chase scenes down corridors, and elevators, and dark, shadowed figures knocking out the main characters, and being chased, and mysteries being solved. πŸ˜€ ❗

I will have to get this DVD as soon as ❗
