• The Name of the Doctor
The Series 7 finale, starring Matt Smith. The Doctor has a secret he will take to his grave. And it is discovered…
• The Night of the Doctor
Special mini-episode ‘The Night of the Doctor’ to reveal the Doctor’s dark chapter.
Starring Paul McGann, this BBC iPlayer exclusive will for the first time ever reveal what became of the 8th Doctor. On the eve of his most terrible battle, the Time Lord is faced with a choice that will change the course of his life. The darkest of days are about to begin.
The Doctor has always been a man of secrets – and now they can be told…
• The Day of the Doctor
The Day of the Doctor stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, with Billie Piper and John Hurt. The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th Anniversary Special: in 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.
• The Time of the Doctor
The Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith, takes the controls of the TARDIS for the last time in The Time of the Doctor. Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them – the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.
• An Adventure in Space and Time
On November 23rd 1963, a television legend began when the very first episode of Doctor Who was broadcast in the UK on BBC One. Fifty years later, An Adventure in Space and Time brings to life the story of the show’s creation and the role in its success of the first producer, director and, of course, the very first Doctor – William Hartnell.

February 9th, 2021 - 2:13pmMine came today from Zoom thankfully the same amount of time as my last preorder with them the next series 8 Blu ray collection is ordered with Amazon as I had a voucher to use so that’s it for Zoom sadly as over the last 4 yrs I’ve spent nearly £600 on Dr who Blu rays and it’s been a pleasure dealing with them and will be sadly missed whatever becomes of them come April ?.
daz
February 9th, 2021 - 7:36pmTotally agree Deano. I will miss Zoom when they vanish. Been great for Who and other Bluray’s I collect.
My final order will be Season 8.
Apart from Amazon who do people recommend for future sets from a packaging/delivery arriving in tact point of view.
I tend to order 2 and cancel the other when Zoom delivery arrives early. Hmmm…
Richard
February 9th, 2021 - 10:03pmI always use hmv.

February 9th, 2021 - 11:49amZoom just cancelled my order. Absolutely infuriated. Crazy that this is the only steelbook that sold out on pre-order at every retailer. Lower print run perhaps? Hope there will be another opportunity for myself and others.

February 9th, 2021 - 12:03pmI ordered mine from zoom, and now I’m worried as it hasn’t arrived yet.
booboo
February 9th, 2021 - 12:07pmit was bound to be popular but also the only real way to buy it is on-line which may explain the sell out, there are probably numerous copies stacked somewhere that would have been normally been in stores.
Anonymous
February 9th, 2021 - 12:20pmBefore yours was cancelled, did zoom say that it was despatched?
Thedoctor1104
February 8th, 2021 - 8:35pmAnyone know whether this is coming back in stock anywhere as it seems to be sold out everywhere
daz
February 8th, 2021 - 10:58pmProbably not unfortunately. This one was always gonna be popular.
Always better to pre-order these steelbooks and Season sets asap.
Rob W
February 9th, 2021 - 9:17amIt might not be completely sold out, just out of stock for the time being?
daz
February 9th, 2021 - 7:44pmThedoctor1104.
There’s a few listed on eBay. Cheapest buy it now is £47. Guessing a lot of scalpers got them to sell on again.
Hope you find one.
booboo
February 10th, 2021 - 1:31pmstill worth keeping an eye on ebay, a lot of retailers , Argos, Zoom, HMV have sold via them in the past
Things that go bump in the night
February 8th, 2021 - 5:58pmAnd it arrived this lunchtime…. despite the Amazon “it’s delayed” message from Friday 5th.
A thing of beauty, nice artwork, although disc content *looks* to be identical to the original release.
I haven’t tested if the Day of the Doctor is the corrected frame rate – as in the replacement discs from the original set.
Enjoy!

February 8th, 2021 - 1:48pmAnyone received copy from Zavvi? Mine is not dispatched yet!
Conrad Zimmer
February 9th, 2021 - 11:03amMine neither. Just contacted them – awaiting an answer.

February 9th, 2021 - 10:28pmI got word from them, that they haven’t been dispatched yet, cause they are still waiting on stock

February 8th, 2021 - 12:59pmStarted snowing (again) this morning in my neck of South Yorkshire.
Hope it won’t delay the steelbooks.

February 8th, 2021 - 3:59pmCame at 3 o,clock, so there still delivering in our neck of the woods.
It’s been snowing all day but luckily the grounds wet so it’s not settling.

February 8th, 2021 - 6:32amI saw some DW 50TH Anniversary original box sets on eBay.
Sorry guys but I won’t sale mine even if I have the 50TH Steelbook one. These box sets are way more gorgeous with prom pictures and design 🙂
daz
February 6th, 2021 - 1:30pmMine was delivered today.
For those wondering you can put the 3D disc of DOTD in the box too as there is room if you have it like me.
Also the discs have different images to the original 50th set.
The artwork is beautiful.
Roll on Series 8, 9 and 10 of this range!
BailsBach
February 6th, 2021 - 2:32pmHow confident are you that there’ll be a series 8, 9 and 10 in the range? I’d love to own them… but do like the Capaldi soft-boxes, especially series 9.
daz
February 6th, 2021 - 4:07pmVery. The original Series 8, 9 and 10 were limited editions released at the same time as standard bluray’s and dvd sets.
This collection, is a seperate limited edition range hence the generous price point.
Series 10 will no doubt include the ‘Twice Upon A Time’ disc too.
I expect they will release Series 11 onwards again further down the line.
BailsBach
February 7th, 2021 - 11:19amI hope you’re right with this!
Bobby Fackrell
February 8th, 2021 - 10:37pmI hope they re-release series one too
Tom
February 9th, 2021 - 3:07amthey have already released 9 and 10, just 8 to go, they wont re-release 9,10 as they were limited edition
Crosby
February 9th, 2021 - 2:43pmNo in mine you can’t only room for 4 discs and I have 4 discs so you must be a lucky one
Coleman
February 9th, 2021 - 3:15pmSeems like youve got a very ‘limited’ limited edition daz. Mines like Crosby’s, four discs and four spaces, no room for anything else.
Well done.
daz
February 9th, 2021 - 7:41pmNo it is 4 disc holder but you can stack 2 on one of them. Got my 3D one in disc 3 position and put discs 3 and 4 in disc 4 position.
Coz disc 2/3 tray closes above disc 4 tray it is secure.
I know some don’t like stacking discs but I prefer them to all be in 1 set.
Coleman
February 9th, 2021 - 8:09pmI dont mind stacking them, as long as they don’t scratch it isnt a problem.
Jordan H
February 6th, 2021 - 1:22pmAnyone know if this release has rectified the DOTD slow down/audio issues on the original Collector’s Edition boxset?
Rob W
February 6th, 2021 - 2:21pmWasn’t a disc replacement offered way back sometime in 2013?
Mitch
February 6th, 2021 - 12:43pmI ordered mine on the 4th of February from Zoom and it arrived today (didn’t expect it to be that quick) so I’m sure orders from Zoom will be with those who ordered their copy from them soon.
Phasergrim
February 5th, 2021 - 5:51pmMine has been processed by Base and will shortly be dispatched. Never even heard of them before but here’s hoping they’re solid.

February 5th, 2021 - 8:20pmThey are. Bought videogames off them in the past.

February 5th, 2021 - 10:43amGot my delivered notification. I’m at work and can’t wait to get home to check!!
MJS
February 5th, 2021 - 5:09pm……and it’s gorgeous! A number of subtle differences to ensure the original box set retains its collectability.
Coleman
February 5th, 2021 - 8:33pmWhere did you order from MJS?
MJS
February 6th, 2021 - 10:21amAmazon!
Michael
February 6th, 2021 - 11:16amWhat are the differences to the original release then?
Coleman
February 6th, 2021 - 11:50amI also ordered from Amazon and got shipping notification around same time as you, but for some reason mine says should be delivered Monday.
MJS
February 6th, 2021 - 3:02pmMichael, the discs all have different images on them compared to the original box set, unlike some of the recent steelbooks which just recycled the original discs.
Michael
February 6th, 2021 - 5:03pmAh, thanks MJS

February 4th, 2021 - 10:23pmJust had an email from zoom, saying it has been dispatched, though with the mail delays may not arrive until Monday or Tuesday as happened last week with Revolution Of The Daleks
Anonymous
February 4th, 2021 - 9:56pmJust had an email from Zoom saying it’s been despatched, can’t wait.
Anonymous
February 4th, 2021 - 9:24pmLooking on Amazon, they were going to delivery it today to me but have said there was a problem in shipping and will now arrive on Monday. I suspect that Amazon realised it wasn’t meant to be out until Monday. I’m a bit annoyed, but as long as its here by Monday it will be fine.
Things that go bump in the night
February 5th, 2021 - 9:49pmHaaaa! I also had a notification from Amazon to say it had been despatched, due to be delivered today (Friday 5th), but now there’s a message saying…
“We’re sorry your package is running late. We’re working to get your package back on track, and we’ll let you know when your package is out for delivery. Please come back Monday if you still don’t have it and we’ll help you out. Was expected today”.
Let’s see if it arrives on Monday.
Mike
February 4th, 2021 - 5:28pmI pre-ordered it at amazon and just checked it and it said I cancelled it! Sooo frustrated!!
Coleman
February 4th, 2021 - 4:44pmMines been dispatched from Amazon, arriving Monday.
Seems along time to arrive if its already been dispatched.
Rob W
February 4th, 2021 - 6:57pmRelax, you’ll get it by elease day, perhaps even sooner depending on whether Royal Mail or Amazon deliver it.
Bobby Fackrell
February 4th, 2021 - 7:51pmMine has been dispatched hope I get in time for Sci-Fi Sunday
Coleman
February 4th, 2021 - 8:15pmI think with all the postal delays recently there posting the steel book early to make sure they all arrive for release day.
But there’s a good chance they could come early.
Arcadia resident
February 6th, 2021 - 6:28pmGo to zoom they still have it for sale and they are so good at delivery too.yhry are the only company I use for my Doctor Who Dvd and Blu-ray. Well good reliable service.
booboo
February 6th, 2021 - 6:31pmZoom are sold out and are likely shutting down come April
Amazon for many tend to deliver on release date because they have their own delivery service.
Arcadia resident
February 6th, 2021 - 6:32pmJust checked with zoom.sold out.
Coleman
February 8th, 2021 - 10:58amI only ever used Zoom for Dr Who dvd and Blu-ray, but as Booboo mentioned there probably closing soon.
Not keen on Amazon, used to order a few hardback books from them and even though they came in a cardboard sleeve the corners were always bashed on the book itself.
Not looking forward to seeing the condition of the Collections in future. Might try Hmv or even Base in future after this steelbook purchase.

February 3rd, 2021 - 11:45pmMy order in Zoom is “Sent to the Warehouse” since Monday. It’s my first time with Zoom. Do you know when they usually send the order to the customer?
daz
February 4th, 2021 - 10:14amYou’ll probably get it on Saturday. Although with Royal Mail there might be a delay.
Jordan H
February 4th, 2021 - 10:23amMine is also in the “warehouse” for the last few days. I pre-ordered the last few steelbooks from Zoom and all of them arrived a good week after the release date, should mention I’m in ROI though.
Workin’ Guy
February 4th, 2021 - 1:52pmIs there a status after “Sent to Warehouse” to confirm that they send the item?
Jordan H
February 4th, 2021 - 2:42pmYup, will say Dispatched

January 20th, 2021 - 1:28pmJust got this! Day after my birthday and im on annual leave
Deano
January 19th, 2021 - 2:28pmZoom are stating 8th February release date ?.
JL
December 7th, 2020 - 4:27pmIt would be cool if Alice X Xhang did the series 8 steelbook so the designs of the 12th doctor steelbooks matched, unless they redo the art for series 9 and 10 (and preferably series 11 (and 3))
RPG74
December 4th, 2020 - 11:50amIt looks very pretty, but with no new content I’d say it’s not for me. However, for those who don’t own all the NuWho sets and have no interest in Britbox, I guess now’s the time to start purchasing. It’s all leaving Netflix UK on January 1st!.
Rob W
November 29th, 2020 - 9:53amNow £2 cheaper at £25.99 (except for Zoom who no doubt will reduce the price too!).
The Silent Silent
November 26th, 2020 - 6:10pmWasn’t there a problem with the original 2D version of the Blu-Ray of this episode ???
I vaguely remember when I re-watched that episode on my TV back in April some of the episode didn’t fill up the entire frame.
I think I read somewhere it was a problem with the 2D to 3D Conversion or something, I’m not really an expert but I do remember reading that this was a problem only with the Blu-Ray release.
Any constructive / helpful comments would be great 🙂
Rob W
November 26th, 2020 - 7:46pmDay Of The Doctor should have been 50i (interlaced frames per second) and not 24p (23.98 progressive frames per second) Replacementts were available if you returned the disc via a FREEPOST address.
The Silent Silent
November 26th, 2020 - 7:52pmAh, well I well missed the boat on that as I recently upgraded all my New Who DVD’s to Blu-Ray. I think I bought that Blu-Ray in February 2020 from Forbidden Planet in London, so I wouldn’t have heard about this issue 🙂
Bit strange that they had the Original Blu-Ray all those years later.
At least this Steelbook version is going to be Perfect 🙂
Rob W
November 26th, 2020 - 8:06pmYou may have the corrected disc as it was originally released in 2014.
TheImpossibleDoctor
November 26th, 2020 - 3:52pmAny ideas of the release date for this?
daz
November 26th, 2020 - 7:06pmI expect April for this one as Series 7 is released in December and Series 6 came out in August.
Gives Season 8 a month to shine.
