Special mini-episode ‘The Night of the Doctor’ to reveal the Doctor’s dark chapter.
Starring Paul McGann, this BBC iPlayer exclusive will for the first time ever reveal what became of the 8th Doctor. On the eve of his most terrible battle, the Time Lord is faced with a choice that will change the course of his life. The darkest of days are about to begin.
The Doctor has always been a man of secrets – and now they can be told…
• The Day of the Doctor
The Day of the Doctor stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, with Billie Piper and John Hurt. The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th Anniversary Special: in 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.
• The Time of the Doctor
The Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith, takes the controls of the TARDIS for the last time in The Time of the Doctor. Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them – the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.
• An Adventure in Space and Time
On November 23rd 1963, a television legend began when the very first episode of Doctor Who was broadcast in the UK on BBC One. Fifty years later, An Adventure in Space and Time brings to life the story of the show’s creation and the role in its success of the first producer, director and, of course, the very first Doctor – William Hartnell.

December 7th, 2020 - 4:27pmIt would be cool if Alice X Xhang did the series 8 steelbook so the designs of the 12th doctor steelbooks matched, unless they redo the art for series 9 and 10 (and preferably series 11 (and 3))

December 4th, 2020 - 11:50amIt looks very pretty, but with no new content I’d say it’s not for me. However, for those who don’t own all the NuWho sets and have no interest in Britbox, I guess now’s the time to start purchasing. It’s all leaving Netflix UK on January 1st!.

November 26th, 2020 - 6:10pmWasn’t there a problem with the original 2D version of the Blu-Ray of this episode ???
I vaguely remember when I re-watched that episode on my TV back in April some of the episode didn’t fill up the entire frame.
I think I read somewhere it was a problem with the 2D to 3D Conversion or something, I’m not really an expert but I do remember reading that this was a problem only with the Blu-Ray release.
Any constructive / helpful comments would be great 🙂

November 26th, 2020 - 7:46pmDay Of The Doctor should have been 50i (interlaced frames per second) and not 24p (23.98 progressive frames per second) Replacementts were available if you returned the disc via a FREEPOST address.
The Silent Silent
November 26th, 2020 - 7:52pmAh, well I well missed the boat on that as I recently upgraded all my New Who DVD’s to Blu-Ray. I think I bought that Blu-Ray in February 2020 from Forbidden Planet in London, so I wouldn’t have heard about this issue 🙂
Bit strange that they had the Original Blu-Ray all those years later.
At least this Steelbook version is going to be Perfect 🙂
