September 7th, 2014 - 10:01amThe audio issue from the previous release isn’t fixed, the read through isn’t the full read through promised and the 3D version is missing!
Anyone else feeling a little bit cheated?

September 7th, 2014 - 10:02am…this is from the Blu ray version number 06988

September 6th, 2014 - 7:16pmGot mines today but emailed the BBC to complain about the audio issues again. I think the more people complain the chance we get a replacement disc!
Shaun
September 7th, 2014 - 7:41amHopefully a 3D version if its Bluray

September 6th, 2014 - 6:46pmis it true they cut out RTDs cameo in The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot?

September 6th, 2014 - 6:52pmNo, just finished watching that.
Shaun
September 6th, 2014 - 5:58pmNot to happy the card thing that wrap around the box has the edition number rather have it on the main box…
Shaun
September 6th, 2014 - 5:55pmNo 3D version with blue ray or comic con..shame..

September 6th, 2014 - 4:31pmSeems like amazon have cocked up with there delivery’s, as no one ho ordered from them have even had theirs dispatched yet. Might make a complaint on Monday abut it not being there as a paid first class.
booboo
September 6th, 2014 - 4:33pmits official release date in Monday?
perhaps they are all being shipped out over the weekend for delivery
StetsonDoctor
September 6th, 2014 - 4:36pmMine from Amazon is ‘Preparing for Dispatch’
Dot forget they do 24/7 service, so Booboo is probably right
drjakeyoung
September 6th, 2014 - 4:37pmI spoke to amazon and they aren’t even dispatching mine till tomorrow. A Sunday. How does that work? My postage guaranteed Monday but now that’s very unlikely unless they send it special delivery.
Sam Richard Bentley
September 6th, 2014 - 4:59pmJake, you can post things on Sundays, you just can’t get the post on Sunday. The BBC Shop have simply released these all a tad early – Amazon aren’t. You have nothing to complain about, really.
Sam Richard Bentley
September 6th, 2014 - 5:01pmSorry – when I say ‘you can post things on Sundays’ I mean big companies – do it all the time.
Anonymous
September 6th, 2014 - 7:05pmAmazon always issue new releases on a Sunday, I order 6-10 pre orders a month of games/ DVDs etc, I have always had it on Monday so relax! They will throw ur complaint out as their pre order promise is day one delivery

September 6th, 2014 - 9:18pmMine was dispatched from Amazon about 11.00 this morning.
Sam Richard Bentley
September 6th, 2014 - 3:24pmAm I seriously the only one not phased or annoyed about the box? I think it looks great and does the job – its just a box that holds the DVDs – what were people expecting?
Trenzalore
September 6th, 2014 - 3:42pmI like it, but I prefer it when it’s simple like it is – I can see why people wouldn’t like it, mainly the packaging – the artwork is very good and others seem too agree on that at least 😆

September 6th, 2014 - 3:44pmThe image with all the TARDISs is beautiful!
Sam Richard Bentley
September 6th, 2014 - 3:47pmExactly. And it’s hardly made of the worst material. It’s almost like… people are saying the set is ruined all because the card is slightly thin and they are worried they can’t look after it. Silly in my opinion.
Sam Richard Bentley
September 6th, 2014 - 3:54pmBooboo – what’s your opinion on the box. Are you disappointed, or like me and think it’s fine, does the job and looks fab?
booboo
September 6th, 2014 - 4:00pmjust what i expected for the price
Sam Richard Bentley
September 6th, 2014 - 4:04pmExactly – so you wouldn’t say it ruins the set then? Because that’s how people are acting.
Doctor 13th
September 6th, 2014 - 5:05pmI find the Paul McGann cover a little boring but I love the David Tennant cover. I think the box set looks fantastic!
Ollie
September 6th, 2014 - 5:43pmI’m not sayig it ruins it at all. For the price it’s ok but it’s not really limited edition quality in my opinion, it’s just a normal boxset with a wrap around slip saying it’s limited edition. I would of rather payed more if I had the option and get a DVD or blu ray set that a 50th anniversary deserves.
The TARDIS
September 6th, 2014 - 3:18pmMine has just arrived, exactly what I expected to be honest. A bit of flimsy cardboard! Therefore I’m not disappointed. Well, I am in that it has been lightly crushed at the top where the corners have been pressed in. Not particularly impressed with the packaging of the parcel to be honest, but at least I’ve got it.
doctor W
September 6th, 2014 - 3:22pmWow it appears these are not as good as we first thought
booboo
September 6th, 2014 - 3:24pmdepends what your expectations are really
doctor W
September 6th, 2014 - 3:26pmI was expecting the card to be more like the ones that the classic DVD box sets come in
benlroberts
September 6th, 2014 - 2:26pmMine arrived. I can’t help but be a little disappointed – the packaging is diabolical. I’ve had cereal boxes stronger than this stuff! The audio issues on TDOTD haven’t been fixed either, and the issue of it being slowed down hasn’t either.
Hardly anything collectible about it really.
Ollie
September 6th, 2014 - 3:20pmAgree with what you’re saying, even the so called collectible number is just on the slip sleeve as well.
Scott
September 6th, 2014 - 1:53pmLove the back picture definitely my favourite part when all the TARDISes show up, would love it as a poster.
Ollie
September 6th, 2014 - 1:13pmMine arrived this morning blu ray 05992. Must admit im disappointed with the way mine was packaged although luckily it doesn’t seem to be damaged. I must say they really did make the box look fantastic on the pictures online, as I’m fairly underwhelmed by the overall appearance of the box, not really made to last at all, really thin card stock as the box. For what I paid though seems understandable, admittedly I would of paid more to have a really impressive box set.
planetofthewhovians
September 6th, 2014 - 12:45pmI would love to know if it has audio commentary as that’s mostly why I buy the box sets
Moodbeam
September 6th, 2014 - 12:44pmGot mine this morning. #6229 (blu-ray) Great set but I’m not too impressed with the packaging it’s in; it doesn’t seem as though it will last very long.
Shaun
September 6th, 2014 - 5:52pmI know what you mean…opening the box to get the discs out already bend the flap bit..should of made it with thicker card..or a box where the top comes off.Like the idea that I can swop what picture to show..10th is showing on mine..

September 6th, 2014 - 12:22pmordered mine from Amazon, its not here yet though :-/

September 6th, 2014 - 12:21pmMine turned up this morning. Blu-ray number 8095. I’m actually rather pleased with how it looks, simple, but effective.
Nicholas
September 6th, 2014 - 11:36am🙁 I was expecting the full readthrough 🙁
Nicholas
September 6th, 2014 - 11:51amHowver, they’ve extended Strax’s cinema intro on Cinema Etiquette!! The Doctor’s intro hasn’t, but they have kept the stuff about 3D…
Trenzalore
September 6th, 2014 - 11:52amSo is the read-through not included or is it like just a few scenes of the read-through?
Nicholas
September 6th, 2014 - 11:54amFew scenes mixed with interviews and clips. It’s better than nothing, but Im disappointed
Trenzalore
September 6th, 2014 - 11:58amThank you 🙂 I too am disappointed – it was probably the feature I was most looking forward to, I find the small bits of read-through we’ve seen through the years really interesting and hearing how they say things differently.
Oh well, like you say better than nothing.

September 6th, 2014 - 11:05amI love it. Wish it had been just 1 armary case though
Trenzalore
September 6th, 2014 - 10:58amVery happy with it The packaging’s a little simplistic but some people may prefer that. Can’t wait to do nothing and watch it all today 😛
I got the DVD, my numbers 05873.
When The Doctor Was Me
September 6th, 2014 - 10:40amMines arrived! Amazing set! For all but one thing! The order of the front covers it goes:-
11th – TNOTD
10th – TDOTD
War – TTOTD
8th – AAISAT
I would have prefered:-
8th – TNOTD as it has Night of the Doctor
War – TDOTD as its about him mainly
11th – TTOTD as its his final story
10th – AAISAT – as he only fits here, but would have prefered Bradley as 1st!
Nicholas
September 6th, 2014 - 10:16am🙁 Audio issues on The Day of The Doctor haven’t been fixed, but the sheer beauty of this set is allowing me to look over that 🙂

September 6th, 2014 - 9:27amI’m so sad that this is only making a Region 2 release. I understand that the program is something of a flagship of British pride, but I know there are many enormous fans of Doctor Who in the US and elsewhere, myself included. I really hope they reconsider and let this become a little more widespread! I know many people would be willing to make the investment.
Anonymous
September 6th, 2014 - 10:08amIt’s also coming out in Region 4.
the doctor
September 6th, 2014 - 10:33pmThat sucks, although likely the u.s will get an all out collector set like the complete 1-7 blu ray release and we will be left with our paperthin ‘limited’ packaging-does anyone know how many there are in this limited packaging? For a flagship british show i think we get a raw deal as far as special releases are concerned.
no doubt series 8 will be missing the ‘after who” after shows or peter davidson ultimate time lord special that air in the usa as well
Not complaining though im happy with the content at least on this 🙂
Nicholas
September 6th, 2014 - 8:47amHoping my set comes today. Missing out on a much needed lie in in the hope that it arrives! 😛
