Does anybody know what the free gift is? Does it apply to the first 500 people who ordered or the people who get the item within the 500 number code?

May sound like a bit of a stupid question, but which disc goes with which Doctor?
    I’m guessing:

    1-TNotD-War Doctor
    2-TDotD-Tenth Doctor
    3-TTotD-Eleventh Doctor
    4-AAiSaT-Eighth Doctor

After going through the features I can now dispose of my copy of AAISAT as all the features are replicated on this set. Just a pity they did not replicate the reverse worn-cover effect from AAISAT ~ I would have loved that as a poster. Unfortunately ‘Doctor Who Explained’ isn’t on this set, so I shall be keeping my original DOTD…

They haven’t changed the DVD menu either! On the other discs they have a new one with says 50th anniversary collector’s edition. They only thing different on the DVD is an extra page of special features, which has a different style.

It’s been explained below but I don’t quite understand. What are all these different covers? Is it like one of those Russian Dolls when you take one off and see another 😆 Or(and I really hope not) are there different collectable covers?

      no

the outer box has a see through window through which you can see the bluray cover

those images are the same box with the the blurays swapped around

apart from the bottom left which is the back of the box

Is this artwork included – https://www.facebook.com/TheMindRobber/photos/a.340564499377391.1073741826.318044484962726/512638892169950/?type=1&theater

It is a really beautiful piece of artwork made by Stuart Crouch and Gav from The Mind Robber did some work on it also. It was unknown if it was going to be in the set. I much prefer it to what we have on the back cover with The Doctors standing with their Tardises above them. Such a shame if they didn’t use it. Tom Baker in the image makes it worth it alone!

    No booklet at all either?

      no not anywhere

when a saw that artwork i expected a “regenerations” type box set with Wright up’s images etc

perhaps we will still get one – you never know

this currant set although it includes what most people wanted is actually very basic in its presentation

    • Max88

      September 5th, 2014 - 3:49pm

Aw that is annoying. I loved that image. I really wished they pushed the boat out with doing a proper 30 minute behind the scenes feature on Day of The Doctor instead of the crappy behind the lens. All those Classic series documentaries are gold dust in comparison. I know Confidential was cancelled but you’d have thought for the big event they could have done a proper piece of coverage. I’m dismayed that they didn’t include that mini-featurette on The Night of The Doctor at least!

So – there’s the different Doctor covers, and a multiple Doctors cover – which must be on the back of one of the Doctor covers, so – what is on the back of the other three?

    • booboo

      September 5th, 2014 - 2:45pm

they are just the bluray covers swapped round in the box there is a window in the outer packaging

I think by ‘Script to Screen’ it means TDOTD Readthrough. As I can’t imagine what else ‘Script to Screen’ would mean unless they included the shorts from the 2011 and 2012 competitions. Which would be very odd and out of place.

4000 for DVD and 6000 for Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray is more because more people would want to buy it on Blu-Ray, e.g. An Adventure In Space and Time is available on Blu-Ray region B for the first time.

Suppose I be doing the same and buying the 3D version..I still think its a money grab by the BBC.At least they could of told people of the change and not had the 3D bit on the cover.People thought they may get that version until they changed it.Also why add Name of the Doctor when something else could of been added when that’s already in season 7 boxset.
