The audio issue from the previous release isn’t fixed, the read through isn’t the full read through promised and the 3D version is missing!
Anyone else feeling a little bit cheated?

Got mines today but emailed the BBC to complain about the audio issues again. I think the more people complain the chance we get a replacement disc!

Seems like amazon have cocked up with there delivery’s, as no one ho ordered from them have even had theirs dispatched yet. Might make a complaint on Monday abut it not being there as a paid first class.

Dot forget they do 24/7 service, so Booboo is probably right

I spoke to amazon and they aren’t even dispatching mine till tomorrow. A Sunday. How does that work? My postage guaranteed Monday but now that’s very unlikely unless they send it special delivery.

Jake, you can post things on Sundays, you just can’t get the post on Sunday. The BBC Shop have simply released these all a tad early – Amazon aren’t. You have nothing to complain about, really.

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      September 6th, 2014 - 5:01pm

Sorry – when I say ‘you can post things on Sundays’ I mean big companies – do it all the time.

Amazon always issue new releases on a Sunday, I order 6-10 pre orders a month of games/ DVDs etc, I have always had it on Monday so relax! They will throw ur complaint out as their pre order promise is day one delivery

Am I seriously the only one not phased or annoyed about the box? I think it looks great and does the job – its just a box that holds the DVDs – what were people expecting?

I like it, but I prefer it when it’s simple like it is – I can see why people wouldn’t like it, mainly the packaging – the artwork is very good and others seem too agree on that at least 😆

      September 6th, 2014 - 3:44pm

The image with all the TARDISs is beautiful!

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      September 6th, 2014 - 3:47pm

Exactly. And it’s hardly made of the worst material. It’s almost like… people are saying the set is ruined all because the card is slightly thin and they are worried they can’t look after it. Silly in my opinion.

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      September 6th, 2014 - 3:54pm

Booboo – what’s your opinion on the box. Are you disappointed, or like me and think it’s fine, does the job and looks fab?

    • booboo

      September 6th, 2014 - 4:00pm

just what i expected for the price

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      September 6th, 2014 - 4:04pm

Exactly – so you wouldn’t say it ruins the set then? Because that’s how people are acting.

I find the Paul McGann cover a little boring but I love the David Tennant cover. I think the box set looks fantastic!

    • Ollie

      September 6th, 2014 - 5:43pm

I’m not sayig it ruins it at all. For the price it’s ok but it’s not really limited edition quality in my opinion, it’s just a normal boxset with a wrap around slip saying it’s limited edition. I would of rather payed more if I had the option and get a DVD or blu ray set that a 50th anniversary deserves.

  • The TARDIS

    September 6th, 2014 - 3:18pm

Mine has just arrived, exactly what I expected to be honest. A bit of flimsy cardboard! Therefore I’m not disappointed. Well, I am in that it has been lightly crushed at the top where the corners have been pressed in. Not particularly impressed with the packaging of the parcel to be honest, but at least I’ve got it.

Mine arrived. I can’t help but be a little disappointed – the packaging is diabolical. I’ve had cereal boxes stronger than this stuff! The audio issues on TDOTD haven’t been fixed either, and the issue of it being slowed down hasn’t either.

Hardly anything collectible about it really.

Mine arrived this morning blu ray 05992. Must admit im disappointed with the way mine was packaged although luckily it doesn’t seem to be damaged. I must say they really did make the box look fantastic on the pictures online, as I’m fairly underwhelmed by the overall appearance of the box, not really made to last at all, really thin card stock as the box. For what I paid though seems understandable, admittedly I would of paid more to have a really impressive box set.

I know what you mean…opening the box to get the discs out already bend the flap bit..should of made it with thicker card..or a box where the top comes off.Like the idea that I can swop what picture to show..10th is showing on mine..

Thank you 🙂 I too am disappointed – it was probably the feature I was most looking forward to, I find the small bits of read-through we’ve seen through the years really interesting and hearing how they say things differently.
Oh well, like you say better than nothing.

Mines arrived! Amazing set! For all but one thing! The order of the front covers it goes:-
    11th – TNOTD
    10th – TDOTD
    War – TTOTD
    8th – AAISAT

    I would have prefered:-
8th – TNOTD as it has Night of the Doctor
War – TDOTD as its about him mainly
11th – TTOTD as its his final story
10th – AAISAT – as he only fits here, but would have prefered Bradley as 1st!

I’m so sad that this is only making a Region 2 release. I understand that the program is something of a flagship of British pride, but I know there are many enormous fans of Doctor Who in the US and elsewhere, myself included. I really hope they reconsider and let this become a little more widespread! I know many people would be willing to make the investment.

That sucks, although likely the u.s will get an all out collector set like the complete 1-7 blu ray release and we will be left with our paperthin ‘limited’ packaging-does anyone know how many there are in this limited packaging? For a flagship british show i think we get a raw deal as far as special releases are concerned.

no doubt series 8 will be missing the ‘after who” after shows or peter davidson ultimate time lord special that air in the usa as well

Not complaining though im happy with the content at least on this 🙂
