Big Finish Rutans vs Sontarans 1.1 Betrayalat the House of Sontar

Available to order from www.bigfinish.com

This title was released in April 2026. It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until 31 May 2026, and on general sale after this date.

There are many stories of the Sontaran-Rutan war. But one hidden thread has yet to be revealed. A tale told across millennia. From before the war to its possible end. As the Doctor is about to discover…

On the run from the mysterious organisation called Division, the Doctor has come to the planet Sontar – home of the Kaveetch Empire and their armed forces, the Sontarans. She wants sanctuary… and she’s offering the secrets of the Time Lords in exchange.

But with the whole of time and space up for grabs, the stakes are high. Can everyone on Sontar be trusted?

Please note: the collector’s edition CDs are strictly limited to 1,500 copies**

Another pointless story that doesn’t fit into cannon

To each their own, I think any chance to listen to more of the fugitive doctor is excellent.

It’s ‘canon’. And if you want to be beholden to concepts of canon then go ahead, you are perfectly free to continue doing what you do. But don’t police others fans in an effort to decide what Dr Who they should be exploring.

(that’s what I loathe about fandom and why I avoid it: there is always a sizeable contingent who just want to be controlling, negative and unbearable).

Aside from the fact that I don’t think you know what ‘canon’ means, as it just means: what is established as definitive lore within the universe, and we have no definitive proof the Big Finish audios are canonical to the TV show, so what you actually mean is ‘doesn’t fit into continuity’.
But aside from that, I don’t understand why this is something you need to whine about; people like this incarnation or the doctor. Even if she disrupts established continuity and people want more of her, why do you feel the need to be upset about that?
