B&M 2025 History of the Daleks Set #20

A fresh new drop of Doctor Who sets at B&M

Character Options is excited to announce the details of the 2nd drop of Doctor Who Collector Sets for B&M Stores, for 2025. Available in September, these two exciting new sets will be the perfect addition to any fan’s collection.

For fans of one of the Doctor’s most feared enemies, the first set – Revenge of the Cybermen boast three impressive Cybermen figures whereas the second Dalek Battle Squad offers another old enemy in the form of an Imperial Dalek and Special Weapons Dalek from Remembrance of the Daleks. Each pack features a back of pack description, and details on the inspiration behind each, a summary of which is below.

History of the Daleks #20 – Rememberance of the Daleks (08388)

The set comes with one Imperial Dalek, plus the unique and intimidating Special Weapons Dalek with updated deco and some revised parts.

In this story from the final season of Classic Doctor Who – The Doctor returns to Earth in 1963 to retrieve an ancient weapon he left there in his first incarnation. Unknowingly though the Daleks have discovered the weapon and now two groups of Daleks are marauding across London to be the first to retrieve it. One group is loyal to Davros their creator and one is loyal to the Renegade Daleks.

As things heat up the Seventh Doctor and a group of humans get caught up in the crossfire. Davros sends an elite Battle squad to earth in a shuttle to retrieve the device including a heavy Weapons Dalek with a huge and powerful Cannon. The stakes have never been higher, but as usual the Doctor has a plan.

These new sets will be available in the coming weeks at local B&M Stores. The retail price will be determined by the store.

Yesssss same!!! That has to happen. Even if they just repaint the Resolution Recon Dalek, I’d be happy just to get new Daleks from a story we don’t have any figures from yet!

I also think a set with the Recon Dalek and Lin (the girl with the Mutant on her back) from Resolution would be pretty cool. I feel like they could just reuse the Bill Potts/Abby Maitland body with (god forbid) a new headsculpt for her, along with the little mutant that came with the original Recon Dalek figure!

Does anyone know why CO has never released TARDIS consoles for the 5″ figures, apart from the playset & junk console from The Doctor’s Wife?

It seems such a lost opportunity. I’m sure they’d fly off the shelves!

The reason they haven’t made any more since is simply cost – it’s simply been uneconomical to produce them. Notably the two playsets they made were back during the heyday of the line, when we got new figures for every Season + dozens of classics per year.

As everyone is second guessing what the next Vortex will be released what would be nice is a vortex set(s) of Daleks from the 1960 films it would have to be released by CO as they would have to get a licence from Studio Canal for rights to use the images. I can only hope!

Or they could re-release The Chase set with the movie Dalek! That would get around the copyright issue.

Yep they could do that but I already have that set it’s the ones that came in an assortment of colours other than silver, grey, black or white similar to the Daleks that went on steroids in the 2000’s

‘Or they could re-release The Chase set with the movie Dalek! That would get around the copyright issue.’
That would take the exclusivity out of a set that was released only 5 years ago. They’re not going to do that. That being said, I wouldn’t be opposed to it if they improved the paintwork on it. (The colours were quite off imo. Needed a more metalic blue and the silver was too blue.)

    September 6th, 2025 - 5:24am

The dirt and oil paint app looks shocking, much worse than the original release which already needed improvement. Oh well, it can be fixed with a bit of paint.

As I rightly said earlier this week, the next vortex exclusive online set is a Velvet Ainley from Logopolis with Column Tardis, with swappable heads, TCE’s and TV movie accessories, expect orders from next week.

As far as I’m aware, the only two CO exclusives left this year is a Dan, Sacha Master and Vinder 3 pack from Power of the Doctor and a velvet Ainley Master, the 3rd was to be a Wrath Warrior but tooling went awry so has been pushed back to next year.

Where did you get the info? Dan and Vinder are a little bit meh but will obviously buy it for the Sacha Master. Ainley Master in his proper outfit is a nice one too. Wrarth warrior is also a bit meh in my opinion. Obviously still gonna buy them all, lol.

Victory of the Daleks Set 1:
      Ironside and White Supreme

Victory of the Daleks Set 2:
      Blue Strategist and Orange Scientist

      The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang:
      Yellow Eternal and Stone Dalek

      Asylum of the Daleks:
      Red Drone and Bronze Inmate

Some bad news for USA fans looking for this year’s sets. Looks like WhoNA probably won’t be getting ANY new B&M sets going forward. I e-mailed them earlier about availability of the 2025 sets under the current political climate and got this response:

“I do not think we will be able to obtain them going forward. We had to pay someone to purchase them retail and ship them. They were never cost-effective for us and we simply cannot afford them. Sorry.”

A seller on eBay said that but it was just a rumour that he heard that there was a online exclusive of a Pink TARDIS and Seventh Doctor from the 1988 Story The Happiness Patrol. But ave heard nothing or where this rumour has came from. Or it could be the Dalek Mother Ship from Remembrance Of The Daleks if this is true that would be amazing if they did do that. But take this with a pinch of salt this is just a rumour at this stage from a eBay seller.

    • FH

      September 4th, 2025 - 1:37pm

@David Even without confirmation from Al, it’s been expected that we’re getting an Exclusive in September just based on the maths of the situation. If anything the surprise to me is the revelation that it’s coming ‘late September’ and not 13th September as I was expecting.

    • FH

      September 4th, 2025 - 1:38pm

“Save your pennies and by that, i mean save you pennies” is not a great sign lol. The exclusives this year have so far already been stretching what I consider a reasonable price lol. Hopefully it’s something I’m not interested in and can pass on it easily. My guesses are either a classic TARDIS playset or… my best guess will be a Bessie.

    • Douglas.

      September 4th, 2025 - 2:18pm

Surely not a Dalek Mother Ship, Andy…….we never saw that….!

I was going through stories on Instagram yesterday and someone had their opinions about it. I looked for information myself but couldn’t find any. But the “save you pennies” remark doesn’t exactly fill me with optimism if I’m honest.

    • FH

      September 5th, 2025 - 12:16am

This reminds me, I watched a recent video by Whotuber Who-Time in which he showed Al Dewar saying in a podcast ‘We have an item that we think is going to be quite exciting and are looking at as the start of a potential range if the first one goes well. I think it’s one of the few ones where I would possibly put it to your listeners: Who would you like to see next?’ Who-Time interpreted this as being the ‘fifth Character Exclusive of 2025’, however I listened to the podcast he was referencing, which was from 11 months ago, and I argued he could’ve been talking about the Ruby/15th Vortex edition, ‘starting’ the ‘Vortex Editions’, as I didn’t catch a specific mention of it being a part of the five 2025 Exclusives. This being said, maybe I’m wrong and this penny-pinching product Al’s talking about now could be it (albeit the fourth Exclusive of the year?). My thought while watching Who-Time’s video was that it could be a classic TARDIS playset, considering that’s something that could be a range of creating all the variants over the years.

    • Andy

      September 5th, 2025 - 12:56am

Douglas, This is just from a seller I bought off on eBay that was what he heard were just rumours he heard that there was gonna be Online Exclusive from Character. I’ve heard nothing but am.sure this site would be the first to know what’s coming if this rumour is true it could potentially happen in the near future if they are planning on releasing every figure from the Classic and New Series. Ah don’t see why they wouldn’t do some of the iconic ships in the series. But these are going to take forever if they plan to release every figure over 200 stories if you include the recent series if they only gonna be 2 waves each year which is 4 sets a year. These could just go on and on as long as the contract doesn’t expire. These just remind me of when each story came out on DVD in random order. These figures are like that from random stories. What do any of you guys think could these just go on and on. I’m only interested in collecting the Dalek Sets. I do think In time we will eventually see the Ironside Daleks and those what I call bumper Daleks from Victory Of The Daleks. With them being 5 different colours could be a potential Online Exclusive with all 5 included. Or 3 of them in one set then the other 2 in another. But let’s just wait and see. Got to go and hunt these sets down first when they start hitting stores.

While I absolutely will be getting the SWD, as it might be my last chance for a low price.

The paint job is a big downgrade, the bottom looks as if it’s meant to be black with white paint painted over it, and the white paint is now chipping off rather than having the dirty look it’s meant to be.

I was really looking forward to this as the HOTD have generally had improved paintwork than the originals, and my SWD looks like someone has sketched in the oil with pencil… however, you’re right this looks like they’ve just upgraded from HP to Sharpie. Looks like they’ve remade the smooth imperial neck piece which is great, and I love the blue tint on the eye of the first release of the Dalek so happy to see it’s return, even though I’m not sure how accurate it is!

Sorry, shoulder piece! Hard to know on a Dalek where on part starts and another stops aha

The original was amended to have a texture for the renegade Dalek release, so the slats around the shoulder have been inaccurate for all the future imperial releases
