October 20th, 2016 - 12:57amIt’s so good to see our little fandom alive and well! Despite all the hate… But still, it’s nice that we have something to look forward to. I remember having a blast with the old tardis playset when I was younger and would definitely consider getting it again! Plus that Ten is a must get. I hope we find out what other stuff awaits soon! I’d love a Rose from the Impossible Planet, I know that prototype exists, i’d also love an Eleventh Doctor from the Eleventh Hour in the remins of the Tenth Doctor’s clothes, (basically a release.) But he’d be glowing with regeneration energy, that’d be pretty cool. Plus, I think that was a prototype exists too.

Similarly, I imagine the publicity photos would need approving by most of those people in order to ensure that everyone is happy with how the figure is publicised (nobody wants the model in the photos to be an poor representation of the product)

I realize UT haven’t been given permission to post the images for the next three items but that is building up suspense so the longer they leave it, the more people are going to get excited. I just hope its all worth it as after all this time and how for over the last week its been made out that we will see five “new” 5.5″ items and if they aren’t new then a lot of people aren’t going to be happy.

October 19th, 2016 - 10:38pmMaybe so but this seemed to be planned pretty far in advance. UT wouldn’t just announce some new items because someone who had been private messaging them wanted them too. This seems to have been in the works for a long time and at the end of the day I just hope at least some people get what they want and aren’t left disappointed because they waited days for something to get announced that didn’t end up meeting their expectations.

October 21st, 2016 - 9:30amPeople will get disappointed no matter what is announced, I’m just happy that we’ve got away with the Thirteen Doctors set and five additional items as we could have eaisly have missed out on any 5″ merchandise due to the hiatus. That’s why for the sake of me not getting disappointed I’ve made my predictions for the next three items to be either re-releases, repaints or variants. I don’t think we’ll see any brand new sculpts for figures this year as I don’t think the Collector’s series sold at all well last year because of the fact that both Missy variants are now available through Character Online and Toys R Us. I think we’ll get something similar or along the lines of last year where we saw four Twelve Doctor variants but I think we’ll get the white shirt variant with the coat repainted to be red velvet and the Time of the Doctor head sculpt replacing the sculpt from last year. Outside of that, the remaining two items could be anything.

I know for a Fact there was a new (Much better) Rose Tyler from ”The Impossible Planet” on there as well many others!

October 19th, 2016 - 10:32amnot the mould, but a lot of the work would have been done by affable as a render, which can then be used to produce a mould or tooling at any scale really, i had assumed they had upgraded the 3.75″ figure with a view to doing a 5″ one

October 19th, 2016 - 10:40amI’m surprised as a deacde ago when the Cybermen returned in Rise of the Cyberman & The Age of Steel it was impossible to find a figure of a Cyberman without arm gun at retail as they were so popular. I guess it goes to show how times change but they are still very popular today so there is no reason at all to say that a Nightmare in Silver variant along with others wouldn’t sell.

October 19th, 2016 - 11:09amI managed to find one with an arm gun quite easily back in 2007 in my local Toys R Us along with the Genesis Ark and Daleks set (which needs a re-release with the new mould Daleks) but it was a pain trying to find one back in 2006.

October 20th, 2016 - 11:58amIt’d be a shame if they aren’t planning any nightmare in sliver cyberman (besides handles). Think of all the variants they could produce, and money they would make. We’d probably get a cyberman with ‘arc reactor’ light on, cyberman with no ‘arc reactor’, wooden cyberman, damaged Matrix cyberman, cyberman with gun arm and blue chest, cyberman with gun arm and no blue chest, cyberman that is weathered. The possibilities are endless, almost. Seriously through I hope they bring out a nightmare in silver cyberman.

I would really like an accurate Series 9 Twelfth Doctor, but I think we will probably see a repaint based off the costume he wore at the end of Hell Bent. Davros is a likely candidate because someone asked Al Dewar this last year so they could repaint his head and we couldvalso see a classic Dalek of some form probably from the 60’s. Then again even with these pointed out they could be completely different and we need to be prepared in case they are.

I can understand if that is the aim with this wave as the Tenth Doctor is a very popular Doctor, but David Tennant left the show 6 years ago now and we should be getting figures relating to the Twelfth Doctor’s era. If Character and Underground Toys gave us a wave of figures from the Tenth Doctor’s era instead, that would go against what the majority if fans including me have been asking to be released for the last year. I realize the Twelfth Doctor variants released last year may not have sold that well, but if they made one variant and a couple of monsters I guarantee they would sell better.

You all seem to be forgetting that this is the US Underground Toys. These are all meant for the US market.

October 17th, 2016 - 10:45amI also think people are getting too ahead of themselves and are forgetting who the target audience is with these items. Its good to hope like I am for certain figures to be released but we’ve got to bear in mind the likelihood is we won’t all get what we hope for. This is why I have limited my expectations as I don’t want to have spent my whole day getting excited for the reveal and then end up disappointed because I didn’t get what I wanted. We can hope and pray that these items eventually come to Toys R Us but for now we just don’t know what’s happening. I won’t be surprised though if the next three items are from the Tenth Doctor era because they sell, especially overseas.

It all depends on what stores want to buy the products that they think will sell!!!

Also, I have said this several times… people need to realize that this is the US Underground Toys. They are releasing things for a general Audience that never got these figures. The 10th Doctors Tardis Playset would NOT be a re release…. it would be a brand new product since it was never released in the USA. They are selling there products to what they think the American audience would like. Of course they are going to try and sell them to Forbidden Planet or TRU in the U.K. But they might not buy them. For example, the release of the new Dalek Sec never went to the U.K. Everyone should stop complaining if it’s not the figure or item that they wanted. The world doesn’t revolve around them. It’s all about business and what will sell. I feel that as fans of Who we should be very happy that they are releasing anything AT ALL!!! Remember just a few years back they basically said the 5″ line was dead. We are getting new Doctor Who products. Be happy… I feel like there are a lot of ingrates out there! If we stop complaining and BUY the things being released now, they will continue to make new products that may eventually make everyone happy.

I like TARDIS playsets and would really like a new interior playset (by new I mean 12’s or a Classic console) but re-releasing the 9/10th Doctor one would be a kick in the teeth, especially as I don’t live in the Uk and have to wait an extra day to find out what was announced. 🙁

And remember… it’s not a re release of the 10th Doctors Tardis Playset because it was never released in the USA. It’s a brand new product.
Just. Excuse y already have one doesn’t mean you can’t get another one. This will have different packaging so it could be a variant.
