This is the most exciting assortment of figures ever!!! I have wanted the 10th Doctor in Tux for ages, more than a new Zygon or Cyberman! And not one but two MORE 12th Doctors?! Incredible! I’d be happy if these were the last, heck the only Doctor Who action figures ever!!!

Wow, that’s a lot cheaper than I expected, thought it would be at least £60

Happy to hear it! Looking forward to getting the hoody / jumper variant. I might even buy a second and repaint the coat burgundy for a Return of Doctor Mysterio variant; I thought that looked great!

All my Collector’s series boxes have the UT logo and Warning – small parts stuff on, so I think we probably get them from America seeing as only the American packets have that stuff on. That being said, they could still come to us, we really won’t know till they are released.

Since it looks like we might be getting more figures, I thought I’d share the ones I’d like to see most and the ones I feel are more realistic and could maybe happen at this point. I’ve added a few basic releases because that’s what every wave of figures does to make some money.

12th Doctor in red coat, with waistcoat.
(Though any of 12’s new series 10 costumes would do me, but the one I want the most is the red coated one from series 9 or 10.)
    Bill.
    Rusty the Dalek.
Release of davros with lighter skin tone, maybe a new head with his eyes open.
    Release of the Supreme Dalek.
The Fisher King (Highly doubt it, but it’d be awesome, they could make it a Build a figure, that way people would but releases.)
    The Silence with turtlenecks.
Zygone. (Again, kinda doubt it, but they have played a big part, so come on, we need one!)
60s Dalek with the new blue paint added.

I think it was the reveal that was cancelled not the figure

It’s possible that these order cancellations even go back that far

There is clearly more to be announced yet

I think we should all ignore anything that’s been said in the past and wait for official word

I wish they’d done a brand new Tennant figure with updated articulation rather than a tuxedo figure. It’s nice, but 10 years too late

I think they may use the arm moulds for that figure to add extra articulation to other 10th Doctor figures in the future. I mean, the legs are the same as the other 10th Doctor figures, so the arms should work to.

    • Tom Baker Plush

      January 15th, 2017 - 2:05pm

Not neccesarily, it depends on whether the torso sculpt is the same or not. When the Matt Smith with ball-jointed shoulders came out they had to remould the torso to accommodate for them (although they’d only have to retool the torso if the old jacket will fit on that body)

I think that they could release (wouldn’t be suprised if they did) a Magician’s Apprentice set with Davros (Slightly repainted face (lighter colours)), Red supreme Dalek, repainted dead planet Dalek and 12th Doctor (repaint you mentioned). Be a nice way to get 2 (yes, a whole 2) rare figures, as well as two very nice repaints.

      January 14th, 2017 - 10:11am

they’d still have to create a new tooling for it though

    • The Outcast

      January 14th, 2017 - 10:55am

But it would be worth it as:
      A) a 2013 Cyberman is much wanted by collectors
      B) the Cybermen are the second most iconic villians in Doctor Who
      C) the 2013 version is the current iteration at the time being (New design hinted, not confirmed)
      D) You can make atleast 4 variants of this figure (Arm gun and light, Arm gun no light, no Arm gun and light, no Arm gun or light)(This excludes the wooden Cyberman).

I really can’t see why they haven’t 2013 Cybermen yet. Maybe they will announce on in the near future…

    • TARDISGuy

      January 16th, 2017 - 11:31am

I’m amazed they haven’t done a Nightmare in Silver two-pack. With the 7b 11th Doctor with the Cyberplanner stuff on his face and a 2013 Cybermen. They’d have been re-using the TotD sculpt.
Also slightly surprised they didn’t release Missy with a Cyberman for a Death in Heaven two-pack. Both of these I’m sure would’ve sold well enough.

Strange as well that the 10th. Tuxedo box pictured is an American release version (With Warning Label & Underground Toys below it) & the other two 12th. are UK versions (Without the Warning Label & Character Logo) ?

The previous TRU released all had the UGT/US info masked with stickers, so nothing strange here. The 12th doc was probably produced after UGT cancelled their order.

    • doctorwhofigurephotos

      January 13th, 2017 - 11:04am

I am not too sure either. However I have come up with pros and cons for each variant.

The Girl Who Died (checked trousers):
      Pros:
Adds some colour to usually a very dark figure
Has checked trousers which adds to variation
      Cons:
Not a very iconic costume as it only had one appearance
Maybe a little bit too colourful for the 12th Doctors personality.

      Under The Lake variant
      Pros:
Has a very commonly worn costume
Has the iconic holey jumper which we have never had in figure former
Has a more subtle colour tone.
      Cons:
Trousers are the same as previous ones.

    • Dalekparadigm2

      January 13th, 2017 - 11:45am

I prefer under the lake, however I am going to buy two check trousers Capaldis, one for the figure, one for a Davros chair custom

    • 100,000BC

      January 13th, 2017 - 11:46am

Although he wore different trouser/hoodie variations, the black jumper variant is his Doctor’s most commonly-used style (he wore the black jumper + hoodie combo in most episodes of series 9 at some point and wears it some more in the new series).
However some people prefer the checked trousers and I understand that: it’s colourful, and the trousers of course echo Troughton and other classic Doctors a little.

It all depends on what you’re looking for in your figure collection.

    • The Outcast

      January 13th, 2017 - 12:04pm

I think I spotted the 12th Doctor wearing the Holey jumper in the trailer (the bit when he’s wearing the sonic shades in the TARDIS), so if you want a series 10 version, variant 2 maybe the one you want. If you want a Classic sort of look, then variant 1 is your variant. Really depends on you.

    • Taro

      January 13th, 2017 - 4:14pm

Still wouldn’t work for that trailer scene, as he wear the burgundy Velvet coat in the scene.

    • STRAXTHEDESTROYER

      January 13th, 2017 - 4:54pm

Thanks Guys!!! You’ve been a great help, I think I might go for the checkerd trousers variant. 😀

    • The Outcast

      January 14th, 2017 - 7:49am

@Taro It doesn’t seem to be the red burgundy coat, it might be the black on though. Variant 2 is still a series 10 version in my eyes, as figure wise the coats wouldn’t look to different.
