Forbidden planet have started to send out night of the doctor eighth doctors but don’t have enough stock for everyone. I got this in an email
“Hello We have received a partial delivery of this item, but unfortunately, not enough to fulfill all orders. We are expecting more stock in a couple of weeks, and you order will be fulfilled from this next batch. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this unforeseen delay may cause”.

Although I ordered one from FP, I came across 2 recently hidden at the back of a stack in TRUS so I bought one. If my FP Order fall’s through I’ll have one already, I can’t afford to miss out on this figure!

I realize that a lot of you will probably reply to this comment by saying “NO !! GET RID OF THEM !!”, but even thou the Sonic Sunglasses introduced in this years series have divided fan opinion which is that like Marmite you either love the Sonic Sunglasses or you don’t, and granted it seems the Doctor will have a totally brand new design for the Sonic Screwdriver this Christmas Day coming judging by the picture for ‘The Husbands of River Song’, but I think the Sonic Sunglasses should be kept . . . . but not to be used by the Doctor, but by whoever is to become Clara Oswald’s successor in series 10 next year, cos they do seem more suited to a companion rather then the Doctor anyway if you think about it.

New Sonic Screwdriver for the Doctor, Sonic Sunglasses for the new companion :)

    • Balakin

      December 1st, 2015 - 5:30pm

I wouldn’t mind if it would reappear from time to time but with restricted abilities, like how Clara used it in Face the raven, for enhanced sight and not as an actual sonic. That was my main problem with it, it’s a sonic just as sunglasses, by that logic it could be anything, sonic banana, sonic mugs…
also, the design was non existent, plain glasses nothing more,

  • EndlessTimelord

    December 1st, 2015 - 12:21pm

What is everyone’s thoughts on the new sonic? I think it’s great! Really hoping for a toy and universal remote to be released!

      December 1st, 2015 - 3:06pm

The Sonic Shades ?. They have certainly divided fan opinion I must say. I don’t mind them myself, but I do hope the Doctor goes back to using a Sonic Screwdriver with a new design too.

    • The Werewolf

      December 1st, 2015 - 3:52pm

He/she doesn’t mean the Sonic Shades, he/she means the new sonic screwdriver in the Christmas special

    • EndlessTimelord

      December 1st, 2015 - 3:58pm

There is a new Sonic Screwdriver. I’m referring to the new poster

    • DoctorOsgoodTARDIS

      December 1st, 2015 - 4:03pm

Not the sonic shades DOCTOR WHO ONE I think the sonic that EndlessTimelord is referring to is the one that can be seen in the new promo image that was released last night along with the Title of the episode

    • The Twelfth Doctor

      December 1st, 2015 - 4:22pm

I think he means the new Sonic Screwdriver (shown in the ‘The Husbands of River Song’ poster).

The Doctor’s New Sonic is in one of the new Promo Pics for the Christmas Special.

      December 1st, 2015 - 11:36am

I wonder if they had the time to go ahead and start production on toys so it can be up for preorder after the episode airs, like the War Doctor sonic (which was first available on the Celebration the next day and admittedly a lot easier to produce).
Probably not but one can wish 😀

    • booboo

      December 1st, 2015 - 11:40am

takes about 6 months from start to finish i believe , they would have had access to the war doctor sonic before that

getting these things made is a lot more complicated than people think especially with all the approvals process

Does anyone know any discount codes?

    • Anonymous

      November 30th, 2015 - 10:47pm

They don’t do discount codes. The only codes Amazon use are either Pre-Paid voucher codes, Credit codes or the odd time they foul-up & offer a Goodwill Gesture code.

    November 30th, 2015 - 4:05pm

You know what annoys me about the BBC ?.

It’s that they give Eastenders a specially made ident of Albert Square looking all round [Albert Round], yet Doctor Who [and a lot of other BBC shows too] has been a round a lot longer then Eastenders and does not have it’s own special ident before broadcast of every new episode of Doctor Who :(

    Curse you Eastenders !! 😛

    • 76 Totters Lane

      November 30th, 2015 - 8:35pm

What about the one where Capaldi interrupts the main ident with him looking into camera and the Dalek fires a laser bolt in the circle of cyclists that they’ve shown before every episode this series?

    • PartGollumPartTimeLord

      November 30th, 2015 - 11:12pm

here in northern ireland they either show the capaldi one or the hippos with the tardis flying past in the background

    • 76 Totters Lane

      December 1st, 2015 - 10:36am

I got the 5 inch 8th Doctor from Night of the Doctor and to me he doesn’t seem as impressive as the promo picture and seem to me that the jacket is a brighter green then the promo picture. Is it like this for anyone else?

    • Anonymous

      November 30th, 2015 - 5:39pm

Strangely enough the figures are always usually better in hand. But like you in this case the Promo Images were great & the actual figure not so. My figure seem’s rather pudgy, it doesn’t look like McGann & the colours seem off. Never mind it’s one I’m still happy to add to the collection.

Can someone rate these stories for me, The ambassadors of death, The Aztecs, The android invasion, Invasion of the dinosaurs, The leisure hive, Mark of the rani, The seeds of doom, The face of evil, The dominators, The sensorites and The time meddler?

    • TheExtremeBlueTARDIS

      November 28th, 2015 - 1:52pm

I’ve only seen The Ambassadors of Death, which I’d give an 8/10. The rest sound good though according to others.

    • SomeFunnyDrWhoReference

      November 28th, 2015 - 2:23pm

It’s all a matter of preference but of those listed my personal favourites are The Ambassadors of Death (very Underrated) and The Seeds of Doom. The Dominators is as dull as dishwater.

      OK thank you

    • CG

      November 29th, 2015 - 9:11am

Invasion of the Dinosaurs – 9/10
      Android Invasion 6/10
Leisure Hive (in my opinion) – 8/10
      Ambassadors of Death – 8/10

    • Grand Moff Moffat

      November 30th, 2015 - 11:07am

The Ambassadors of Death- 6/10 (Waaaaay to long)
      The Aztecs- 7/10
      The Android Invasion- 7/10
      Invasion of the Dinosaurs- 6/10
      The Leisure Hive- 1/10 (Atrocious)
      Mark of the Rani- 4/10
      The Seeds of Doom- 10/10
      The Face of Evil- 8/10
The Dominators- 1/10 (Watching paint dry would be better acted and more engaging)
The Sensorites- 4/10 (The four is only for that masterful opening episode; the rest of it is an easy 1)
      The Time Meddler- 6/10

doubt many people knew they had them

  • Adam

    November 27th, 2015 - 7:32pm

Still no update on the last wave for Character Building. When will this be complete booboo?

    • booboo

      November 27th, 2015 - 8:28pm

no way of doing any updates like this for a while probably

  • TheDoctorForever

    November 27th, 2015 - 4:46pm

How many people would be interested in an updated 13 doctor set? and how much would you be willing to pay for it?

    • The Werewolf

      November 27th, 2015 - 5:50pm

      5.5″ or 3.75″?

    • DannyTheNerd

      November 27th, 2015 - 7:03pm

I would love one. I’d pay about £40-60 for one. £70 at the most

    • TheDoctorForever

      November 27th, 2015 - 8:41pm

Either, i would have no interest in the 3.75″ ones but i know and respect that loads of people would want that set. I was talking more about the 5″ scale. I was just wondering what other people would think it? I’d really love to see one get made with new figures with the better articulation! i’d expect it to be in the £70-80 price range but i’d be more than willing to pay that for it!

    • SomeFunnyDrWhoReference

      November 28th, 2015 - 2:26pm

Would it not be 14 Doctors ? – Ten’s alternate Earth Doctor was counted so that Capaldi could be the start of the next wave of incarnations…

    • TheDoctorForever

      November 28th, 2015 - 6:25pm

Yeah but i doubt any one would be too bothered about having 2 tens that are pretty much identical, most people would settle for the 13 Doctors

    • The Werewolf

      November 28th, 2015 - 10:22pm

I have no interest in a 5.5″ (5″) 13 Doctors set, I already have most of the Doctors as figures and care little for variants, I would be interested in a 3.75″ 13 Doctors set though, even though I don’t want the War Doctor.

    • TheDoctorForever

      November 29th, 2015 - 10:34am

Even if they were updated with the new articulation and better sculpts? And what’s up with the War Doctor? Not a fan?

    • Grand Moff Moffat

      November 30th, 2015 - 11:11am

A couple ofthe Doctors are a bit shoddy (Pertwee, Davison, Baker, McGann, Eccleston, Tennant, Smith) .
But a few of them look really good (Hartnell)
And oone or two look…meh (Troughton and Baker)

    • The Werewolf

      November 30th, 2015 - 12:22pm

The sculpt would have to have massive improvements and a reasonable price for me to be interested. And there’d have to be something else there too. Problem is what I see as a reasonable price would be too low to be viable for Character.

And no, I don’t do the War Doctor. He creates an unnecessary divide in the numbering system between the Classic and New Doctors which is very annoying.

    • TheDoctorForever

      December 1st, 2015 - 7:41am

I think there’s only a few sculpts that need updating, some are pretty much perfect. What do you mean by “something else there too.”? And what would you class as reasonable?

Oh.. I really liked the concept behind the War Doctor, each to their own I guess!

    • The Werewolf

      December 1st, 2015 - 11:36am

Thee sculpt I have are good too, I was meaning a hypothetical perfect sculpt. By something else, I mean something unique to that set, like the Valeyard for example. Reasonable price £40 without Valeyard or £50 with him.

    • booboo

      December 1st, 2015 - 11:45am

well we did have the Hurndall sculpt which apparently we will never see, and the highly the desirable 4th Doctor from Zygons and 2nd Doctor in fur coat, a cracking 2nd set is possible but i doubt with any new face sculpts unless any were tooled that we have never seen.

    • TheDoctorForever

      December 1st, 2015 - 7:44pm

Fair play! Thinking about it now, I would rather they just released a wave of doctors instead of a new 13 doctors set. I think if they updated all of the articulation of all the figures and made Varients for 2nd, 4th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th then that would be better because then people don’t need to spend money on figures they don’t want.
