I’m on series 1. I’ve seen series 3 and 4 multiple times so that’s what I’m most familiar with, I rebelliously saw a couple of S1 and 2 episodes when I was about 9 years old I was never really allowed to watch them. I never went back and watched them all the way through, even though I know who dies and lives and little bits of other information so now I’ve decided to watch the whole of Torchwood from start to finish from the very beginning. Never realized the budgets were this low but I like the ideas of the human stories and of course Jack and Iantos slowly blossoming relationship is keeping me entertained.

Could it be a christmas book? Sounds like a lead into a DW parody of ‘twelve days of christmas’

Might be another 12 Doctors of Christmas short story anthology, only with monsters, or perhaps some novelty children’s book like the One Doctor, Two Hearts counting one?

Imagine how much creepier Cyberwoman would have been with a fully converted cyberman but with just the Yvonne Hartman voice sound effect as her speech. This is like some sort of low budget spoof I can’t believe what I’m watching on my screen right now

I think it would be way more cooler if we saw her half converted, and see the gruesome effects of the process and we know Torchwood could do something like, but what he got looks like if Cybermen had one emotion still one. 😉

      June 20th, 2018 - 5:32pm

I just can’t believe a team of people decided to let it go ahead and make it to television. And Chris Chibnall ladies and gentleman wrote this masterpiece. The wench gets stabbed in the chest and still survives, swear she’s electrocuted at one point and still survives yet being pecked alive by a pterodactyl is in Jacks words ‘the only thing that could stop her’. Erm ok then good plot

      June 20th, 2018 - 6:30pm

Personally, I like that episode, it’s very base under siege and was good character development for lanto.the only thing I did not like was the design for the cyber woman, and I think it was jack who was electrocuted, twice.

    • Doctor Stu

      June 20th, 2018 - 7:40pm

It was hard to take the peril seriously and the elements of danger like when jack looked genuinely worried that if it was allowed to escape she’d be able to convert millions and then the camera just cuts to this woman in a cyber bikini it was so laughable but yeh anything that showcases Jack and Iantos relationship is great in my book

      June 20th, 2018 - 8:33pm

@Doctor Stu, We can’t know for certain, how much input chibnall had on the design of the cyberwomans costume. Its also noteworthy that, this was the first stab at a season-long DW spin-off and no one knew if it would work. I cant imagine TW season 1 had the biggeat budget, the cyber-bikini may have simply been more cost effective than a full on gory partially converted cyberman, requiring puppetry? CGI? Etc…

    • T.A

      June 20th, 2018 - 8:47pm

I think we can all agree his next episode was great.

    • Doctor Stu

      June 21st, 2018 - 10:39am

I’d have just resused a full cyberman costume from series 2, added a female/cyber voice synthesizer and had done with it. We saw the gory elements from the Chinese man and pizza girl being mutilated. I swear they all knew exactly what they were filming I feel like this was one big joke and they all were fully aware of the ridiculous of it because the acting was terrible compared to the other episodes around it it just seemed like one big drug trip that made it onto television

T.A is right, Countrycide is one of my fav episodes and I low-key would love an episode like that (except perhaps more family friendly) from chibnall over the next few years, in his era of DW.

    • Doctor Stu

      June 22nd, 2018 - 8:04pm

I watched that one last night it was bloomin creepy and I loved the whole concept and resolution, the fact that there was no monster and that was surely the only resolution that there’d be some vicious alien or creature but nope only sick humans. And Greeks bearing gifts was also really good it had a real emotional punch I had a little wobble by the end of it I’m on episode 7 tonight I think or 8

Could someone please explain what the situation is with the Season 12 blu-ray box set? On Amazon’s website the listing now says it’s out of stock, yet websites like HMV are still expecting it for the 2nd July. Has it been delayed again or have Amazon just sold out based on the number of orders?

its quite possible Amazon keep selling out of their allocation and they will put if back on when they secure more stock, those who already ordered should be fine

It depends if what seven20 has been telling some people is true, I dont know if Character even have a USA distributor now

Apart from possibly Funko and Titan anything else will be “unexpected” at this stage

    • The Outcast

yes but by UT who no longer exist and seven20 don’t deal with and have no connection to Character Options who make the figures

      June 16th, 2018 - 5:41pm

Yes 13th Doctor, Clara tribute Tardis and Missy are listed on gamestop system

it just depends on if the BBC will allow stuff to be released from un-aired episodes (which they have never done before)

      June 16th, 2018 - 11:31pm

What have Seven20 been saying about figures?

    • booboo

      June 17th, 2018 - 8:50am

they told a few people they were doing their own range of figures, no info beyond that

thus far their Doctor Who portfolio is non existent unless they have big plans for later on in the year

    • The Outcast

      June 17th, 2018 - 12:05pm

I wonder what their figures would look like. I assume they aren’t teaming up with Character and are doing more stylised figures.

      June 17th, 2018 - 9:05pm

Unless its a different scale of figures? Like theres different ranges of Marvel and DC figures
