The only thing with Amazon Pre-Orders is that lately they have not been arriving on day of release, which I have experienced I pre-ordered Season 15 Limited Edition months before the due date it came out on Monday it’s not arriving until Saturday. It happened just recently with The Daleks In Colour again not arrived on the day of release.

Heard about someone complaining to amazon about the continued delayed delivery’s of doctor who items they got a refund and credit olusbthe order arriving. Its a shame home media has gone online only to preorder/purchase.
Only hmv left on thr high street. Remember the days of when there were loads of stores ypu could walk in and buy or place a preorder. It all went down hill when Woolworths went as they owned the main supplier of home media.

I see the RRP on amazon is £34.99, compared to season 17 standard which was £32.99.

Prices are going up all over. Why should these be any different?

    What disc errors were there?

      February 27th, 2024 - 12:59am

From memory: Revelation pt 2 reprise editing, scaling/DNR/interlacing/branching errors on video effects in Timelash/Revelation, text note errors that contradict what’s on screen in Attack.

Does anybody know, why we don’t get Frazer Hines, on behind the sofa’s.

    • Gordon

      February 23rd, 2024 - 8:53am

I’m sure that’s down to availability on filming dates. He’s a really busy man with appearances and he seems to travel about a lot.

      February 23rd, 2024 - 12:46pm

We got him on Season 23 Behind the Sofa and hopefully they can get him for the Season 4 – 6

      February 23rd, 2024 - 2:46pm

I believe he has said that he has filmed behind the sofa for the mind robber.

    • Sofia Fox

      February 24th, 2024 - 1:08am

Didn’t he record for the Mind Robber Behind the Sofa at least?

    • Prowl1701

      February 24th, 2024 - 2:53am

I believe he mentioned at a con that he had recorded for the mind robber.

      February 24th, 2024 - 6:51pm

Which means he’s done all of Season 6 Behind the Sofa set. Hopeful Season 6 will be the next season because all our shelves are lacking a troughton set. Followed by Season 25

    February 22nd, 2024 - 10:43pm

Good, I’ve been waiting patiently for this. Great price too. Love the standards!

    • Duncan

      February 27th, 2024 - 1:55pm

Yes. I prefer to wait for those. I bought a few of the limited edition versions but with every one the plastic trays fell out after a time. Much prefer the standard packaging.
The booklets are nicer in the ltd versions but as Ive never read any of them I can live with the standard versions.

      February 28th, 2024 - 11:28am

Agreed. Less expensive, saves space and is generally less hassle in the long run.

A question for the people who scour the internet: any news on whether any of the errors/glitches will be fixed? (My feeling is probably not – I’m guessing Meglos was quietly fixed on S18 purely because it was a contractual credit.)

    • Gordon

      February 22nd, 2024 - 5:17pm

From what I heard there isn’t the budget and time to fix it. However the error at the start of revelation part 2 was fixed for the American release so it might be fixed for this. Guess we will have to wait

    • Ian Cotterill

      February 22nd, 2024 - 8:20pm

‘Revelation – Part 2’ certainly needs fixing. Not only was there a problem with the opening shots, but one of the CGI effects from the end was missing on the blu ray.

      February 22nd, 2024 - 10:23pm

Interesting because the file was on the disc when I digitised it to my hard drive, it would okay now I have checked and it isn’t there on the disc, but is on the ripped version?? Encoding issue? I don’t know

If anyone does buy the standard set please let us know if errors have been fixed. I might buy it to swap the discs around.

    • D84

      February 22nd, 2024 - 3:47pm

I thought that too – this has gone round quick

Then again, the Limited print of this was announced early 2022 – so the 2yr gap still stands

    • Anon

      February 22nd, 2024 - 3:58pm

That was verycquick. I wasnt expecting this to drop until at least june. Its usually th2 2 year mark. Whats going on?
Not that i,m complaining. I collect the standard editions. Season 2 next.
