The Tenth Doctor

The Tenth Doctor had a bright, sparky personality yet he rarely gave second chances to his foes. Leaping back into the TARDIS with a series at extraordinary companions, he seemed the most vivacious Doctor so far.

10th-doctor-dalek-5802

Following repeated battles with old foes and after a cataclysmic encounter with his own people, in the end this Doctor gave his own life to save that of Wilfred Mott, absorbing radiation that would have proven fatal to his old friend.

toys-r-us-10th-set-boxback5

He was able to stave off the regeneration process long enough to bid farewell to his past companions and reach the safety of the TARDIS, where the Doctor began to regenerate, alone…

The Daleks

Genetic mutations housed in armoured travel machines, the Daleks are the distillation of all that is evil in the Universe. There is a suitable background included within the packaging.

An intelligent company would have released one 2-Pack Set a month from January 2013 through to the Anniversary month. That way it would not be so expensive all at once or come out altogether but some companies have no sense…

for £20 is this set worth it?
and can you swap the crucible dalek’s arm for a plunger from the progenitor dalek or ironside?

      June 20th, 2013 - 3:13pm

It all depends on how desperate you are for the Dalek included in each set. I’ll grudgingly pay £20 for the hopefully metallic Strategist in the 11th Doctor set but I wouldn’t for this crucible Dalek. The £20 price tag also means, for me anyway, army building is out of the question and yes you should be able to swap the plungers around.

    • Moid

      July 16th, 2013 - 10:51pm

It’s annoying isn’t it? I only just brought myself to buy the Tenth Doctor set as the dalek was a slight variant, whereas I had the other two daleks already. I look forward to the First, Third, Eighth, Ninth and hopefully Eleventh, as they sound like they will be different daleks from previous releases. But that’s still £100 to shell out. Could TRU not have knocked off a couple of quid if you buy two sets, or a few more quid if you bought all three?

      July 17th, 2013 - 12:47pm

Booboo, I can sense something in the ether, a feeling that you want to tell us what the dalek in the Third Doctor set is rumoured to be. Not a confirmation of course, but the jist of what they were thinking they might do. Make the world a better place, booboo, you know it makes sense.

    • booboo

      July 17th, 2013 - 12:55pm

the problem is i was told what was planned but have not seen it so what it actually looks like is anyone’s guess

I was then told that these sets were not 100% finalised so there is no point in saying anything in case the original idea has been shelved then i would look a bit daft.

I have no idea when or how we will find out what the next 3 sets are or what they actually look like.

There may be an advert in a mag of they could turn up on ebay prior to release like the last 3 or they might jut turn up in-store

    • Moid

      July 17th, 2013 - 5:53pm

Of course, you’ll have to forgive me, this drought of the show between series-end the special is getting to me. It seems like manufacturers and/or suppliers make it hard to get information sometimes, from the figurine subscription to the twin packs. My interest is mainly the daleks, so it’s disheartening to see figures cancelled (some of SFX2), and overpriced sets like the twin packs that essentially offer nothing new.

    • booboo

      July 17th, 2013 - 5:58pm

you will not be disappointed in some of the Twin packs, if you Like Daleks you have the Chase Guard, Alpha Dalek and Planet of the Daleks thingy coming, hang in their

    • Moid

      July 17th, 2013 - 6:47pm

Ha ha, indeed, I can’t wait. Did I read somewhere that they are removing the previous batch of twin packs each time the next lot arrive? I noticed that they seemed to go from my local TRU quick at first, but now there’s lots on the shelf all the time. I would hate to see cancellations because of low sales.

Apparently the 11th Doctor set is a new variant of the asylum Stratergist Dalek

    • A New Dalek Paradigm

      May 29th, 2013 - 12:42am

The Daleks that come with the 1st (Master Plan Supreme), 8th (Dalek Alpha) and 9th (Emperor’s Guard) Doctors are all new. From what we know so far the rest are all variants of Daleks that have already been released, apart from the Dalek that comes with the 3rd Doctor which apparently is something different we just don’t know what yet.

    • Dalek The Supreme

      May 29th, 2013 - 2:00pm

The 11th Doctor set will have the new metallic Strategist Dalek from Asylum of the Daleks, 9th Doctor will have the Emperor’s Guard Dalek from Parting of the Ways, 8th Doctor will have a red Dalek never seen onscreen, and the 1st Doctor will have the Masterplan Supreme Dalek.

      May 27th, 2013 - 12:30pm

Meh, the figure is still long overdue for improvement. It lacks the posability of other Doctor figures and still has the same shirt and tie when David wore many of them.

AND, the suit looks grey when it was brown.

Plus I already have too many 10th Doctor figures and they are VERY hard to display because of the limited posability 😛

    • TheWhoMeister

      May 31st, 2013 - 5:57pm

You bring up a lot of interesting points there however this is a brand new figure and as well as exclusive as well. I only have three 10th doctor figures I think theres plenty of room for one more and I have to say this 10th doctor figure may be the best one yet.

    • Dalek sec

      July 16th, 2013 - 1:17am
