Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.

He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.

This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

With that McGann head, all the need to do is tweak the torso on the standard variant and then we could finally get a dark eyes variant. 🙂

Is it confirmed as Eigth Doctor’s head? I think it is, but perhaps it’s meant to be young Hurt from Night of The Doctor??

No, it is the Eighth Doctor. If you go to the FP website you’ll see that.

I hope they do a 5″ Capaldi. I’d be happy with the 13 5″ Doctors, then they can do what they like for all I care.

It would be great if FP released some special New Series Sets (Series 6-7) of what we’ve missed:

    Series 6 Exclusive Collector’s Set:
    • Headless Monk
    • Amy Pond (Let’s Kill Hitler) with one Anti-Body
    • Handbot
    • Amy Peg Doll
    • Long Coat Doctor

    Series 7 Exclusive Collector’s Set (5″!):
    • 2013 Cyberman
    • 2013 Ice Warrior
    • Clara Oswald (Nightmare In Silver)
    • Whisperman

    50th Anniversary Collector’s Set:
    • The Tenth Doctor
    • Clara Oswald
    • 2013 Zygon

Also, I have noticed they haven’t released figures from Matt Smith’s Christmas Specials (excluding Christmas Adventure Set):

      A CHRISTMAS CAROL:
      • Kazran Sardick
      • Eleventh Doctor wearing Santa Hat
      • Fog Shark with damaged sonic screwdriver

      TDTWATW Set:
      • Wooden King
      • Wooden Queen
      • Eleventh Doctor New Sculpt

      THE SNOWMEN:
      • Barmaid Clara
      • The Eleventh Doctor
      • Snowman

    • 100000BC

      December 4th, 2013 - 9:56pm

Specials are generally not very well represented. Two Sycorax figures; one deluxe racnoss; a set of two identical figures, one already released figure and one new figure; one variant and one more individual figure were all we got from 2005, 2006 and 2007 Christmases.
      Then it gets worse:
Nothing from the animated specials. Nothing from Christmas 2008, Easter 2009 or The Waters of Mars. Four figures from The End of Time. One set of variants from 2010 Christmas. Nothing for 2011 or 2012 Christmases.

Let’s just be thankful we’re getting this one figure and not go crazy on the “Want-List.”

Everyone who’s moaning about the Paul McGann (Costume, head sculpt, whatever) – just remember that that head is just an added extra, we never saw the old war doctor wearing Paul’s costume, so you can just enjoy it for what it is: A War Doctor Figure.

I hope the Paul McGann’s head fit’s on the 8th dr figure we seen in the 11 doctors set, that would be a cool custom

I couldn’t have cared less if they had made just the John Hurt figure with no Mcgann head and if it was 20 pounds instead of 15.

They haven’t necessarily stopped, they are still doing classic figures in 5″, and I don’t know if you would count John Hurt as a classic doctor?

    • Drwhofan130

      December 4th, 2013 - 9:29pm

This could be an add on figure to the 11 doctor’s set from back in 2010

    • 100000BC

      December 4th, 2013 - 9:44pm

The War Doctor bridges the gap between Classic and New. If he is a new Doctor because he is in the New series, then so are McGann and Davison. You could say that he is a classic because he started in an episode with another Classic as the “current” Doctor. Or you could say that there should be NO DISTINCTION between classic and new Who now that we have the regenerations to bridge the gap, apart from to Big Finish, who aren’t licensed for Hurt, Eccleston, Tennant or Smith, which makes them all “new who” Doctors… Wibbly Wobbly Doctory Woctory!

    • Anonymous

      December 4th, 2013 - 10:06pm

Bear in mind though Big Finish aren’t licensed for those Doctors because they are voluntarily pulling out of two Doctors. The conventional package for classic Doctors includes the Ninth and Tenth Doctors now.
