Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.

He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.

This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

Since the Paul McGann head on the other figures is removeable, mabey this one will fit on the Doctor Dalek set version and the Eleven Doctors version!

It could also open up opportunities for proper official figures or customs of McGann’s costume in THE NIGHT OF THE DOCTOR!, It could be quite easy to do a custom with the right equipment.

All Character items will probably mostly be 3.75″

Sexy, I like it! Glad they’re not screwing over the guys with all the other doctors in 5 inch. I’d definitely kill for a Scream of the Shalka Doctor and Master, a Jackson Lake and a Peter Cushing Dr. Who figure.

it may be they are the result of the brief given by the beeb but changed later, same as 8th costume, to late to change production – or maybe there is still time.

They have to start production on there figures before the final episode is even seen

    • LG

      December 4th, 2013 - 7:58pm

They are not the final figures, it’s just like a few years ago with the 3rd Doctor sets, Pertwee’s face turned out different in the final lot.

But the 8th doctor never wore that costume….if anything you’d wanna put his head on the 8th Doctor body from the 11 Doctor set.

Let’s hope they release a young War Doctor in the 8th Doctors night of the Doctor outfit…then we can do proper swaps

Looks great! John Hurt impressed me enormously with his portrayal of the War Doctor, and the McGann head is icing on the proverbial cake! This leads me to question the possibility of a 3.75 inch War Doctor. If not, than I’d still be satisfied with this one that would be more in-scale with the figures I already have. 😀

Wouldn’t it be great if they did a 5″ 50th anniversary wave with NIS cyberman Skaldak (with alternate head and arms) 11th doctor from TROA a Zygon from TDOTD 8th doctor TNOTD and a play set range including The name of the doctor set with Clara the 1st doctor and default TARDIS exterior, a War Doctor flight controlled TARDIS, the 11th Doctor’s TARDIS console room and the War doctor’s console room.

      December 4th, 2013 - 6:56pm

Well, I actually thought that they could release a John Hurt figure because he would technically be a Classic doctor don’t you think? Just the same that Mcgann is one.

    • Anonymous

      December 4th, 2013 - 7:02pm

Depends how you look at it. Classic is officially designated as everything from An Unearthly Child to The End of Time Part One.

The set is based off of The Day of the Doctor so it should be a modern release. It isn’t impossible, its just unlikely.

      December 4th, 2013 - 8:43pm

Actually the 8th Doctor part is Night of the Doctor, which is set between Doctor Who and Rose…

    • Hellbelly

      December 6th, 2013 - 6:29pm

As far as figures are concerned, 1-8 are “Classic”, 9-10 are “Heritage” and 11+ are “New Series” according to Al Dewar from CO. Presumably after Xmas Eleven will go into the “Heritage” category and Capaldi will be “New Series”. So the War Doctor is probably “Classic” as he’s technically the last Doctor before the series’ return.

As much as i love this it would have been nice to have had a set with 11th 10th and war doctor. As a trio with the moment device, sonics, timey wimey device and fez. The back of the packaging to the inside of the packaging could have been the gallifrey falls no more painting! Maybe at a £30-£35 price. That would have been a dream!!!!!!

    • jaketorwho

      December 4th, 2013 - 6:32pm

A new head sculpt would be nice as he changed his hair slightly in the episode and the tie was different!

      December 4th, 2013 - 6:53pm

sorry jaketor, that is really slitting hairs (no pun intended). These are brilliant figures I cant wait fr these

    • Alexanderop

      December 4th, 2013 - 6:58pm

They couldn’t make that, then they would need a Tennant figure in the set aswell. Can’t just have a ‘two doctor’s set’ from a three doctor’s episode now can you.
