Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure
Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk
The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.
He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.
This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

booboo
December 4th, 2013 - 8:01pmwould be nice, the 8th sculpt has always been the weakest i thought
LG
December 4th, 2013 - 8:03pmIt could also open up opportunities for proper official figures or customs of McGann’s costume in THE NIGHT OF THE DOCTOR!, It could be quite easy to do a custom with the right equipment.
i love karen gillan

December 4th, 2013 - 8:01pmI don’t understand why this is 5 inches.I thought only the classics were going to be this size from now on.
booboo
December 4th, 2013 - 8:03pmunless someone commissioned a 5″ which UT have done

Dominic Kane

December 4th, 2013 - 7:44pmDoes this mean that new figures will be 5inch or are these classed as classic figures
booboo
December 4th, 2013 - 7:45pmseems this in an underground toys commission so limited to FP in the UK
All Character items will probably mostly be 3.75″
BaZzA
December 4th, 2013 - 7:56pmLet’s hope underground toys make more then
Tydeus
December 4th, 2013 - 7:43pmSexy, I like it! Glad they’re not screwing over the guys with all the other doctors in 5 inch. I’d definitely kill for a Scream of the Shalka Doctor and Master, a Jackson Lake and a Peter Cushing Dr. Who figure.
#savetheday
December 4th, 2013 - 7:57pmErr, this is John Hurt.
Anonymous
December 4th, 2013 - 7:21pmlook at the sonics in their hands.
wrong
booboo
December 4th, 2013 - 7:26pmit may be they are the result of the brief given by the beeb but changed later, same as 8th costume, to late to change production – or maybe there is still time.
They have to start production on there figures before the final episode is even seen
LG
December 4th, 2013 - 7:58pmThey are not the final figures, it’s just like a few years ago with the 3rd Doctor sets, Pertwee’s face turned out different in the final lot.
LG
December 4th, 2013 - 7:59pmAnd hair, sorry!

December 4th, 2013 - 7:17pmthey are not the quickest and they are very busy at the moment
Our PM of Mars set which was in stock took 10 days from ordering to arrive

December 4th, 2013 - 7:27pmahh right cheers, debating whether to pre order this before its too later :/
Pwilc1967

booboo
December 4th, 2013 - 7:15pmi do that so i can have all versions on display, did it with Churchill, Ace, Jo grant, Jek and City of death
Anonymous
December 4th, 2013 - 8:56pmBut the 8th doctor never wore that costume….if anything you’d wanna put his head on the 8th Doctor body from the 11 Doctor set.
Let’s hope they release a young War Doctor in the 8th Doctors night of the Doctor outfit…then we can do proper swaps
50TrustmeimtheDoctor50
December 4th, 2013 - 7:10pmLovely although i think the bodys to fat! anyone else?

December 4th, 2013 - 7:05pmHey everyone!
Please go to comments page 2 on this article and check out my suggestions for Day of the Doctor 5″ figures!
I spent ages on it and I’d like to know what you think!

December 4th, 2013 - 7:05pmthe head sculpt is not very good to be honest but cool
booboo
December 4th, 2013 - 7:07pmwe should all know by now never to judge to much on promo images
Pwilc1967
December 4th, 2013 - 7:46pmAgreed. Final Ace is extremely lifelike. Promo photos didn’t do it justice. Keep those 5 inchers coming
booboo
December 4th, 2013 - 7:47pmas is the “new” 3.75″ Clara i have here, one of the best likenesses i have seen
Dalek Mika
December 4th, 2013 - 7:04pmMaybe Co are leaving 3.75
booboo
December 4th, 2013 - 7:05pmthis an the sonic strike me as definite Underground toys commissions
I thinks we will still get 3.75″ stuff
Dalek the Supreme
December 4th, 2013 - 7:02pmLooks great! John Hurt impressed me enormously with his portrayal of the War Doctor, and the McGann head is icing on the proverbial cake! This leads me to question the possibility of a 3.75 inch War Doctor. If not, than I’d still be satisfied with this one that would be more in-scale with the figures I already have. 😀
Ilovemyclassicseries
December 4th, 2013 - 6:58pmWouldn’t it be great if they did a 5″ 50th anniversary wave with NIS cyberman Skaldak (with alternate head and arms) 11th doctor from TROA a Zygon from TDOTD 8th doctor TNOTD and a play set range including The name of the doctor set with Clara the 1st doctor and default TARDIS exterior, a War Doctor flight controlled TARDIS, the 11th Doctor’s TARDIS console room and the War doctor’s console room.
Dalek the Supreme
December 4th, 2013 - 7:03pmUnlikely, but still a good idea nonetheless.
drwhofan4ever
December 4th, 2013 - 6:58pmshould i order this or the special weapons dalek
#savetheday
December 4th, 2013 - 7:38pmthis. unless you like daleks more than the doctor.
Pwilc1967
December 4th, 2013 - 7:47pmBoth.
TheIronLAD
December 4th, 2013 - 6:54pmWOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The Fishmonger
December 4th, 2013 - 6:50pmThis is brilliant !!
PanDoricus
December 4th, 2013 - 6:45pmI thought there were not going to be any more 5” modern Who figures only classic. It would be a bit silly if some characters from now on are released as 3.75” and some 5”.
Defender of Trenzalore
December 4th, 2013 - 6:47pmI’m not complaining!
The more 5 inch the better!
The Saviour of Gallifrey
December 4th, 2013 - 6:53pmPanDoricus, one word for you; Dapol.
Alexanderop
December 4th, 2013 - 6:56pmWell, I actually thought that they could release a John Hurt figure because he would technically be a Classic doctor don’t you think? Just the same that Mcgann is one.
Anonymous
December 4th, 2013 - 7:02pmDepends how you look at it. Classic is officially designated as everything from An Unearthly Child to The End of Time Part One.
The set is based off of The Day of the Doctor so it should be a modern release. It isn’t impossible, its just unlikely.
Pwilc1967
December 4th, 2013 - 7:48pm5 INCH ARMY!!! Heh Heh
100000BC
December 4th, 2013 - 8:43pmActually the 8th Doctor part is Night of the Doctor, which is set between Doctor Who and Rose…
Hellbelly
December 6th, 2013 - 6:29pmAs far as figures are concerned, 1-8 are “Classic”, 9-10 are “Heritage” and 11+ are “New Series” according to Al Dewar from CO. Presumably after Xmas Eleven will go into the “Heritage” category and Capaldi will be “New Series”. So the War Doctor is probably “Classic” as he’s technically the last Doctor before the series’ return.
LG
December 4th, 2013 - 6:38pmThis isn’t a limited edition is it? I hope not because I’m waiting until it comes out as I don’t have money for it yet!
Pwilc1967
December 4th, 2013 - 7:49pmFp don’t take payment until ready for despatch. So not until Feb 2014 at least
jaketorwho
December 4th, 2013 - 6:27pmAs much as i love this it would have been nice to have had a set with 11th 10th and war doctor. As a trio with the moment device, sonics, timey wimey device and fez. The back of the packaging to the inside of the packaging could have been the gallifrey falls no more painting! Maybe at a £30-£35 price. That would have been a dream!!!!!!
DOCTOR WHO ONE
December 4th, 2013 - 6:31pmBut if they did release such a set with a 10th Doctor figure, it would only be a 10th Doctor figure everyone already owns already.
jaketorwho
December 4th, 2013 - 6:32pmA new head sculpt would be nice as he changed his hair slightly in the episode and the tie was different!
The Fishmonger
December 4th, 2013 - 6:53pmsorry jaketor, that is really slitting hairs (no pun intended). These are brilliant figures I cant wait fr these
Alexanderop
December 4th, 2013 - 6:58pmThey couldn’t make that, then they would need a Tennant figure in the set aswell. Can’t just have a ‘two doctor’s set’ from a three doctor’s episode now can you.

December 4th, 2013 - 6:27pmis this the final product? it looks a bit strange….. still cant believe weve got it though!
Pwilc1967
December 4th, 2013 - 7:51pmI’m sure there will be more Capaldi can’t be far away.
