Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.

He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.

This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

Oh, this is that ‘other’ Forbidden Planet, not the Forbidden Planet with all the shops found in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Coventry, Croydon, Liverpool, Newcastle and Southhampton which is what I thought [why the hell is there two companies called ‘Forbidden Planet’ anyways ?, does anyone know why ? . . . . damn confusing !!].

If this was the Forbidden Planet I go to up London, I’d happily buy it now, cos I never got it during it’s original release.

The Who Shop in East Ham have this, but I don’t think some of us want to pay £49.99 for it, and no offense to the owners of the shop which I’ve been going too since the 90’s growing up when they used to have the shop opposite East Ham train station, but a lot of the really cool items they sell are a bit expensive.

But if Forbidden Planet in London had this again for £14.99, I’d happily buy it now cheaper.

the company split due to difficulties between the owners and are now completely separate, but yes its a bit confusing for the man in the street so to speak

For some reason only co.uk has carried the exclusives for a while now

It seems odd how ‘international’ is within our country, but of course, Forbidden Planet originated in America (probably), so it’s international to thenn.

You see that thing at the top? The orange underlined writing? That’s called a link. If you click on it, you will travel far away to the Forbidden Planet International site.

Very tempted to get this… Even though I don’t collect the figures. Is it worth £15, for someone who just might keep it on his desk?

I think I’m going to pass, actually. Thinking of investing in some Funko Pop Vinyls before the Who ones come out later this year. I only have about £60 in my account at the moment.

I really wanted this figure but the price is sky high I just wish the people would stop buying loads of items like this so they can sell them for loads & so stock runs out very quick, Im going to try & make a deal with someone on this site I know for vintage toys swap something very collectable for one of these.

I know what you mean I hate when people buy 2 1 to use and 1 to have on display and leave others with none luckily I’ve got this and the time of the doctor and impossible set but others miss out

We need a night of the doctor 8th Doctor figure. But I take your point the current head sculpt lends itself more to a dark eyes figure 🙂

This is a great figure. But, I’m confused as to why they made an ‘updated’ McGann head for a costume that he is never seen wearing on air. Instead they should have made a seperate McGann figure, or, maybe this was a test run like they did with releasing the Peter Davison ‘regeneration’ figure before the Tom Baker Season 18 one was.

It’s because when they made it they hadn’t actually seen the story so after seeing it instead of removing it they decided to leave it in as a nice little extra.

    • Balakin

      October 5th, 2014 - 12:11pm

my real problem is that the updated McGann head doesn’t fit on the 11 Doctors set figure.

    • DS

      November 26th, 2014 - 7:53pm

Yes, I was disappointed to find the head didn’t fit the original 8th Doctor figure properly. However, the head sculpt lends itself more to a dark eyes figure anyway. A devoted Night of the Doctor figure would require a decent head sculpt reflective of Paul Mcganns television portrayal
