SDCC 2016 New 13 Doctors Figure Set on Show

Its that time of year again with SDCC 2016 about to start
Wednesday saw previews night between 6-9 pm, that’s 2-5am in the morning for people in the UK.
From what we can see nothing new was on show.
It starts on Thursday at 9.30am which is 5.30pm in the UK so no late night waiting for any information.
If anything is on show it should soon become clear.
The only Doctor Who items we know of so far are the 2 Titans, Ghost 12th Doctor and Glitter Tardis, Titan Comics, an electronic 20 questions Tardis, 5.5 “x 7” giant mug and Rory’s Story Cubes.
This year we have noticed the “exclusive” title has been dropped in many cases and replaced with “first to market” which means it is only sold there first.
I suspect all eyes (where Doctor Who is concerned) will be on the Underground Toys Stand where, assuming its on show, something “big” is coming (and no its not the mug)…

July 20th, 2016 - 5:37pmHell Bent is a good way of marketing a new TARDIS console room that multi functions as a classic console. Time will tell, a classic console is dream worthy but at the same time unlikely.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, I have a bad feeling everyone is getting way too excited!

Those who do expect it, well all I can say is you’ll probably always be disappointed or anticlimactic

July 20th, 2016 - 5:45pmI think one of the main catalysts as to why people are so excited is what we got last year, we got loads and it seemed like a whole new regular range was starting, so of course people expect to get quite a bit again, it would seem odd to go from all we got last year to nothing this year. If we had just gotten the 12th Doctor figures last year, people would probably be less excited and would be expecting nothing or maybe a 12 variant.

we also know this “big” item is genuine, but of course it could be as simple as remote a 12″ Davros releases or with new features.

July 20th, 2016 - 8:28pmIn reply to Omega63, I don’t expect to see a return to the glory days unless someone other than Character get the action figure licence. Not necessarily through any fault of their own, I think Character have reached market saturation point with their product, and they’re unlikely to return to their pre – 2010 scale of ambition. I think it would take a new scale with new packaging from a new manufacturer to revitalise the figure range. I’d always prefer to see a U.K. company get the licence, but it does make you wonder what Hasbro, NECA or even DC Collectables could do with the franchise.
Honestly. though, all Character would have to do to make me happy this year would be to “size up” the 3.75″ 12th figure with the additional articulation and give us a waistcoat/cardigan Capaldi in 5(.5)” scale, blue or red coat, I wouldn’t mind. I’d probably buy both of them – I bought all four “shirt” figures.

July 20th, 2016 - 5:45pmIf we do chances are that won’t happen, look at series 9 Missy for example, with the line in jeopardy it’s just not financially viable to add a layer of hair to Capaldi as the cost of that will simply lose possible returns and profits when t would sell just as well anyway

If not then we will have to wait for people on the ground, so between 2-5am, last year though you could not take pictures although a few got through
