Robert Harrop The Master – Terror of the Autons

The Master arrives on Earth and steals the sole surviving Nestene energy unit from the National Space Museum, which was left over from the failed Nestene invasion documented in ‘Spearhead from Space’ (1970). The Nestene Conciousness is a disembodied life force, a hive mind race and a singular entity existing as energy with the ability to possess plastic.
The Master then hijacks the Beacon Hill radio telescope, which he uses as a bridgehead to channel energy from the Nestene Consciousness in space into the surviving unit. He then takes over Farrel Autoplastics, a nearby plastics factory, to build a force of Autons, plastic mannequins animated by the Nestene Consciousness, to use as soldiers for a second invasion of Earth.
Reports of the theft and hijack bring the Doctor, his assistant Jo Grant and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart to investigate.

No 5 was the first one that was posted on their site, then someone posted they had recieved No 4, then this morning No 2 as appeared. I wonder what we will get? Hopefully not too high.

December 7th, 2021 - 4:07pmYes very happy with the likeness Jay. I admit the Harrops Human likeness had a few issues to begin with, but they have steadily improved over the years. I think the 1st Doctor and Master likeness are spot on.
Like you say the photos are not doing them justice now.

November 29th, 2021 - 12:25amWhat’s the guessing on the price & edition run for the Troll Doll & Daffodil Auton? I feel both edition run’s for these will be the same as The Master at 225 each. I’m thinking about £55/£60 for the Troll Doll & £80/£90 for the Daffodil Auton?

November 29th, 2021 - 10:53amYes, 225 definitely, Harrops seem to have the run just right at the moment. Just recently they had production runs of 250 but they hung around for ages. (Popular foes like the Cybermen and Cybermats aswell.)
£60 for the Troll Doll just £70 for the Auton. I can’t see any more work involved than on the “Standard figures” that are usually £70.

November 29th, 2021 - 11:03amI agree at 225. I would say the Daffodil Auton could be at £70- £75 and the Troll Doll at something like £40-£50 with it being smaller. Will be interesting to find out.

November 26th, 2021 - 2:07pmThe pewter figures are cast really well to capture the detail and worth the extra cash, it just depends on your budget and if you focus on certain areas Popplewick. Normally stick to Harrop, Eaglemoss and always a need for buying mugs lol, like the Masters mugs on F/P.

But Harrops human characters always seem to sell alot slower than the monsters, so this might hang around for a few weeks like the 1st Doctor did.
Like you Jay (I’ve ordered straight away just in case I’m wrong). So theirs no problem.

November 26th, 2021 - 1:05pmYes I was surprised how long it took for the 1st doctor to go, but I do think the human characters tend to sell a bit slower. I was thinking the Master would go within 48 hrs but as you say it might take a bit longer. It will be interesting to see how he does.
