I have decided to cancel my forbidden planet order and have ordered from Popcultcha. It was about £6-£7 cheaper and will arrive before it is released in the UK.

I Am VERY disapointed that the figure has been moved back AGAIN. This is becoming a flipping joke. I’m in a good mind to contact FPI to share my displeasure and ask for a reason why this set has been moved back to the end of the year. I ordered this in July. Grrr!

      FYI, blame CO not FP

    • booboo

      October 30th, 2014 - 9:59pm

rightly or wrongly FP is the 1st port of call as this is the point of sale, they should pass any feedback back to whoever controls stock shipments and allocation if they feel its necessary

there is a huge gap in regional deliveries on this now and people are turning cancelling orders and buying overseas and that cant be good

I doubt whether any of us really know what is going on behind the scenes

Confused why little companies are getting this set first before Entertainment Earth, Forbidden Planet an so on. Really stupid. I ordered 2 sets from EE and now it says November. Cancelled order from EE and bought it from Radar Toys and got it in 3 days. $40 for each set from Radar Toys. Buy it from Radar Toys, i’ve bought a lot from them in the past. Easy to work with. Tired of stupid companies like FP and EE waisting time on pre-orders to come in.

I got this set yesterday. It is amazing, can’t say enough nice things about it. Love the aged Doctor face, it’s great work. And the Capaldi face in 5 inch scale…the detail is pure art. If you have not yet ordered this, do so. Mine arrived in just a few days from WHONA, here in the States. Looking forward to Ace, and the newest announced 5 inch figures. Like the 4th Doctor regenerated. Good stuff.

Hope It doesn’t get delayed but really I am just grateful that I got the War Doc. Phew. After stressing. I also managed to get the Clara and Doc set. Hope we get a one off Deep Breathe set – be nice to see Strax – Vashtra – Jenny- 12 new costume and closed sonic. And well a Time Of The Doctor Clara. Maybe a New Flight Control Tardis new interior with lighting. But they stopped it haven’t they good ideas though. Collected a few of the new 3.75 inch but not the 12th new costume wish it had the red lining.

I just ordered mine tonight from WHONA, here in the States. I can’t remember having to wait this long of a time on a Who figure set, once it was announced. If C.O. are smart, they will continue to put out the major characters in 5 inch scale, once in a while. Like the 12th in his standard clothes, and a new style Cyberman. The small ones are just…awful. Sorry, don’t mean to sound critical, they just are not anywhere close to the quality of the larger ones. The economy isn’t the real reason you did it.

These are commissioned and marketed by Underground toys not Character, they manufacture them

Retailer lack of interest, feedback and a changing market did it which is well documented

I think they will continue with “key” safe high volume selling figures such as the war doctor as long as the demand contiunes

The classic lines future seem to be down a work in progress idea of enough people committing to buy a voted for figure

    • Eric the Dalek

      October 22nd, 2014 - 6:58am

So, Underground Toys in Cal. makes the call on what gets made or doesn’t? As a fan of Who, and collector, I feel like I am getting the shove off from them. Thanks for the info though, booboo. Either way, the result is the same. The fans/collectors are forced to deal with bad changes to a great product. I hate to see Who product not being given it’s due respect in merchandising. If is isn’t broke, don’t mess with success.

    • booboo

      October 22nd, 2014 - 8:41am

it was broke, well and truly, 3 years ago, some people clearly dont understand that and have no idea of how business works

all this “give the fans what they want” business doesn’t work if there are not enough of them and more to the point it doesn’t have mass retailer support any longer.

and we are getting 5″ figures are we not, we have had 3 superb big selling sets in a row thanks to underground toys (and characters input) – and people still want to bash them!

      October 24th, 2014 - 1:37am

i agree 3.75 inch figures are awful i work with kids and they all agree we have all stopped buying the small ones and only get the 5 inch. Also the shop assistant in the bbc shop said they are not selling as well its obvious the 5 inch ones always sold out in days the small ones dont

    • booboo

      October 24th, 2014 - 8:23am
