Doctor Who The Moonbase Collector’s Edition Colour vinyl LP

Available to order from www.hmv.com and www.amazon.co.uk

“There are some corners of the universe which have bred the most terrible things…They must be fought.”

Demon Records presents, for the first time on 2LP vinyl, the complete full-cast soundtrack of this ‘lost’
classic BBC TV adventure, with linking narration by Frazer Hines.

The Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton) is thrown into his first rematch with the Cybermen in the year 2070.
Humans have colonized the Moon, and the Cybermen have identified their base as a strategic vantage
point from which to invade Earth! Can the Doctor and his companions Polly (Anneke Wills), Ben (Michael
Craze) and Jamie (Frazer Hines) stop them?

First broadcast in 1967, this exciting adventure was written by Kit Pedler and directed by Morris Barry, with
a guest cast including Patrick Barr, Andrew Maranne, Michael Wolf and John Rolfe. Whilst only two of the
four episodes are known to survive on film, thankfully all four are available as sound recordings, complete
with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s familiar Doctor Who theme music.

With a superb cover illustration depicting the Cybermen on the Moon, these two translucent ‘Blue Moon’
discs are housed in beautifully designed inner sleeves with vintage TV guide-style listings for each episode.

Track Listing:

  • LP 1 Side A Episode One – Originally broadcast 11th February 1967
  • LP 1 Side B Episode Two – Originally broadcast 18th February 1967
  • LP 2 Side C Episode Three – Originally broadcast 25th February 1967
  • LP 2 Side D Episode Four – Originally broadcast 4th March 1967

Hi snowman. Friday is Records release day. From Taylor swift to a Marc Almond remastered release, they all get released Friday. CD,Download or Vinyl. It’s an industry thing. Friday is also Chart Day.(yes this still happens)

So the Chart tells us what Happened with last week’s sales, all the new Releases this Friday 4th July. Will hope to Chart next week Friday 11th . For DW Vinyl check the official vinyl Chart. Cds don’t seem to do as well. Position wise.

So next week Jon Pertwee collection official vinyl Chart.

Amazon have messed about with dates for Blu ray/DvD (Monday official release) for ages now.

While Books are Thursday official release day.

I wouldn’t read too much into the dispatch date. Recently it’s been more that you actually can’t order at all until you tell Demon. It feels like there’s a new graphic style following The Tenth Planet release.. I wonder if we are going to get a whole Cybermen set of releases?

Tomb would feel like a waste since it already exists to watch in full, although I know that hadn’t stopped them before (Edge of Destruction, Sensorites). So The Wheel in Space or The Invasion would be more likely in that regard—but Demon seem to have stopped doing the box sets ie any stories of more than 4 episodes unfortunately. I’d still expect next to maybe be The Smugglers or The Macra Terror.

In fact the comment directly below says they’ve already done Tomb. So I would guess no more Cybermen, but I could be wrong.

Is this the first Demon vinyl to have the Doctor on the cover? I was a bit unsure when I first saw it, but it’s growing on me very quickly. They’re always great to have anyway.

Tomb of the Cybermen has a glorious art cover. gatefold, in the heady early days.

      It really is spectacular .

Jon Pertwee collection & Tom Baker collection both have Doctors on.

And City of Death, has a Photo montage cover with a Publicity shot of the Dr and I think a Romana made up of various images.

Gorgeous Cover , love The Moonbase. Didn’t think we were getting anymore this year after 10th planet and Jon pertwee Collection.

Brilliant news. Although Amazon have Jan 26 as the delivery date. But 19th Sept as release date. I’m sure they will fix that , but it’s a bit off putting .

Mine says Arriving 2nd of January. Definitely some kind of Glitch. I hope so anyway. I’ll be Really Annoyed if it’s Released on the 19th of September but they don’t send it While Next Year. LOL.

      Hi The Dr.

Yes very well this year, would love another one for end November early December, but I think they will wait for Next year. As that’s the Quiet time.

Although as there is a series For 2027/8, they will have to start filming early next And big announcements will be made +Animations (3 if we belive the word on the street) so BBC merch spaces have to be made.

I won’t be waiting an extra 4 months for this from Amazon. If the expected delivery date doesn’t change soon, I’ll cancel my order and go elsewhere. Surely it is a mistake on their part?

We have been told they will get stock for release date, its glitch in their system where its sets a default date when stock hasn’t been allocated, its the same with Barbies and other products i have seen, they really need to sort it.
