These six real ‘hide behind the sofa’ collections bring together episodes of the scariest and most iconic monsters from Doctor Who’s classic and recent series.
Each title concentrates on a deadly enemy – The Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, The Master, Davros and the Silurians – and features two separate stories from popular incarnations of the Doctor, including Matt Smith, David Tennant, Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee. These collections are perfect for younger viewers just discovering the scary delights of fifty years of Doctor Who.
The Monster Collection: The Master
Terror of the Autons (1971)
The Master arrives on Earth at a circus run by a man named Rossini and steals a dormant Nestene energy unit from a museum. He reactivates it using a radio telescope and uses his hypnotic abilities to take control of a small plastics firm. Starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor.
The End of Time Parts 1 and 2 (2009-10)
With almost everyone on Earth now recast in his image, The Master controls the world. He’s shocked however when he realizes that one person hasn’t changed… Starring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor

July 14th, 2013 - 3:27pmfirst and latest appearnce to date ,i think thry should’ve had ainley master in it as he was longest serving and had many stories.
Scott the Raptor
July 15th, 2013 - 10:19amThere is no Ainley story on this. It would’ve been pointless. People who bought the DVD would be saying “Where is that guy on the cover in these DVD’s?”.

Scott the Raptor
July 16th, 2013 - 9:58amMy order from best to worst:
1. Roger Delgado – He really just stole the role.
2. John Simm – He is great at playing an ‘insane’ and ‘darker’ Master.
3. Peter Pratt – He managed to act brilliantly when covered in make up and ping pong ball eyes
4. Beavers – For the same reason as Pratt. He just wasn’t as good as him.
5. Roberts – I thought he played him very well. I loved his Time Lord costume as well!
6. Ainley – I couldn’t help but feel like they tried to make Ainley’s Master too much like Delgado’s.

matparks08
July 13th, 2013 - 12:37amI wonder if they might have reversible covers? Delgado on the other side?
Cyberleader1010
July 13th, 2013 - 9:40pmGreat idea! It would be cool if that we’re the same for all of them, like a classic version of the monster on the other side.
Dalek The Supreme
July 15th, 2013 - 6:31pmI hope so, it would be completely awesome.
drwhofan130
July 12th, 2013 - 11:25pmis it just me or is the tardis flipped in the backround because it is really looks ugly and puts off the cover
Scott the Raptor
July 15th, 2013 - 10:20amNope, it’s not flipped.
Dalek The Supreme
July 12th, 2013 - 8:02pmI’m kind of sad they didn’t put one with Ainley in it, but as I said on the Dalek one, it connects then and now better with the earliest and the most recent stories with the monster.

July 12th, 2013 - 9:53pmWhy no suRvival
Dalek The Supreme
July 12th, 2013 - 11:25pmI believe I explained in my comment.
josh smith
July 13th, 2013 - 8:22amwhy not
mind of evil
suvival
1 old master and 1 new one
The Greater Intelligence
July 13th, 2013 - 1:51pmI agree, I may not be the first but ‘The Mind Of Evil’ is much better than ‘Terror Of The Autons’ just basically, but it also is more Master-involved and he is the central villain, in the latter he is just a third wheel compared to everything else. Plus, I never found John Simm as a believable version of the Master and, even though I hate Ainley’s Master, he had good episodes such as ‘Planet Of Fire’ or ‘Survival’.
josh smith
July 13th, 2013 - 2:51pmi have not seen the mind of evil is the colour good on it?
Dalek The Supreme
July 13th, 2013 - 3:25pmSurvival and Mind of Evil are both Classics, these stories are trying to connect the first fully surviving appearance of each monster with their most recent. If I had my way, it would be Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords instead of End of Time, but they decided to put in the most recent appearance, so good for those who like End of Time more than I did.
josh smith
July 14th, 2013 - 8:17amutopia isnt connected
Dalek The Supreme
July 15th, 2013 - 6:32pmIt is, it explains how the Master arrived on Earth, and why the Doctor and co. don’t have the TARDIS.
auton101
July 12th, 2013 - 6:41pmTerror of the autons is a brilliant story, i already have it so i wont get this. and i agree that delgado should be on the front too.
AlphaOmega
July 12th, 2013 - 6:10pmThey could’ve put one of those shimmering images on the cover – one being Delgado and the other being Simm
Doctor Who Crazy Ross
July 12th, 2013 - 5:30pmokay, thats it. I’m getting them all. The covers are brilliant, the contents are amazing, and I’m sure they’ll look great in my collection 🙂
Andrew
July 12th, 2013 - 4:15pmWhy isn’t Delgado on the front!?
Some bloke
July 12th, 2013 - 4:17pmI know, they always use the new-who stuff on these covers. Quite annoying how there supposed to be a 50th anniversary product, yet they only use images from the 21st century series
booboo
July 12th, 2013 - 4:17pmbecause the target audience for these are more likely to recognise John Sim
Some bloke
July 12th, 2013 - 4:20pmthen why not put both on. I mean both incarnations are in there so…
josh smith
July 12th, 2013 - 4:10pmreally no Ainly?!
AlphaOmega
July 12th, 2013 - 6:06pmNotice which episodes they’ve used – the first and latest episodes of each character/monster (save for the Cybermen because Tenth Planet isn’t released yet)
josh smith
July 12th, 2013 - 6:41pmid rather have delgaqdo and ainly. simm is a very bad master
