BBC Studios to release Doctor Who Series Four as Blu-ray Steelbook. Release date 27th May
Re-live the action of David Tennant’s final season as the Doctor in Doctor Who: The Complete Fourth Series on Steelbook Blu-ray, with new and exclusive artwork. Released on Monday 27th May.
Series Four marked the arrival of the award-winning actor Catherine Tate (The Catherine Tate Show) as the Doctor’s new companion, Donna Noble.
Series Four sees the return of previous companions – Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) and Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) plus an array of guest cast including Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley), Felicity Kendal (Inside No.9), Fenella Woolgar (Call the Midwife), Tim McInnerny (Game of Thrones), Peter Capaldi (The Thick of It, Fallen Angel, Skins), Phil Davis (Vera Drake) and Tracey Childs (Broadchurch).
Bonus features exclusive to the release include Doctor Who confidential, video diaries, commentaries, Children In Need ‘Time Crash’, plus teasers, trailers and deleted scenes.

Never seen packing like it, a box that was ten times bigger than steelbook (wouldn’t fit through letterbox) full of shredded paper.

If so, can anyone tell me if the end credits of the episodes are still the larger ludicrously quick “stacked” credits as on original transmission or have they re-rendered them to the more sedate cinematic-style “side-by-side” credits akin to Series 1-3?

Unfortunately it was dented in a couple places due to bad packaging decisions, so I’ve got a replacement on the way and have to mail this one back. Sucks having to wait another two weeks for the replacement, Hope they pack this one better.

I find with some episodes of the RTD years the music is too loud anyway in certain scenes.

May 24th, 2019 - 9:52amJust got mine in the post and ive got to admit, i think the new logo suits it although the spine doesn’t match the previous ones (s1-3) but it dosent really matter because im just glad we finally have series 4 in steelbook form

May 24th, 2019 - 6:28pmGot mine today too. Good old (young) Zoom. Very pleased with it. Although I’ve got the Season 5 steelbook and rest on BR already I’ll happily collect them all again and trade in the original BR at CEX.
In an ideal world I would have prefered each Doctor to have their correct logo on the spine anyway. But if they do release them all no doubt the spine will change again by the time Season 8 comes around with the next rebranding…
