With companions Tegan (Janet Fielding), Turlough (Mark Strickson), Peri (Nicola Bryant) and robot Kamelion (Gerald Flood) the Doctor journeys from an underwater seabase to contemporary England, from a devastated Earth colony to the beaches of Lanzarote, from a volcanic alien world to the deadly caves on Androzani.
Along the way, the TARDIS crew confront Daleks, Sea Devils, Silurians, Tractators, slug-like Gastropods, the evil Malus and the vengeful Master!

I’m sure the 60s ones will be out one day but to have these gorgeous sets pretty much finished is an incredible feat. Please please please lay off the heavy ai wax look.

The title sequence is on native film and can be presented in native 1080p – yet they still went ahead and caked it in Ai slop.
Peter Davison’s eyebrows literally have vanished in a close up of his face when he’s standing in the Tardis.

As per my recent discussion with Paul Vanesiz, this is expected to be the best looking yet! There is also an amazing amount of extra content, ever expected the five(ish) doctors reboot on this set.

Seems from the conversation I had with him, that Paul has indeed been involved in supporting this set’s episodes restoration and remastering for Blu-Ray.
I guess the pixel peepers and naysayers don’t need to buy this set if they are so unhappy.

This is disgraceful. It makes Ian Levine’s Ai ‘masterpieces’ look half competent.
How can you charge £58 for this mess? Just switch these disgusting filters off.
There’s even Ai on the title sequence – that was shot on FILM! They really are mocking their customers with this. Seriously.

10 discs – TEN! wow!
So many new versions of old stories, the originals, old features plus so many new ones! This set I am very excited for – one whole decade of who on the collection shelf now! I wonder if there any last minute additions like extended awakening announced just before release. They really went all out on this one, largest set so far! Guess it is good to prepare for those 60s seasons a few of which will definitely get into the double figures.
I have just watched this season with my partner and I said as soon as we finish I bet they’ll announce this as coming out, finished twin dilemma the other day and would you look at that!?

December 4th, 2025 - 2:51pmMark one more Blu-Ray Season I needed off my list. I needed the Resurrection Of The Daleks season. I think this just leaves the Death To The Daleks season and the Key To Time that I need for The Pirate Planet. And whatever they decide to do in the future for the other 1st and 2nd Doctor seasons besides Hartnell Season 2 because of the sheer amount of missing episodes.

So much to look forward to on this. Without a doubt my favourite 5th doctor series.

December 4th, 2025 - 4:37pm102 Days to wait for release is pretty average for most Collection sets. Longest time to wait for a set was Season 24 from January to June, 158 Days in total. By comparison, Season 21 won’t be long to wait for.

Generally we get the announcement and the set goes up for pre-order without a release date; a couple months later they confirm the date; a couple months after that it’s released. iirc his is the first time we’ve had the date confirmed alongside the announcement since before the pandemic

December 4th, 2025 - 2:20pmThey seem to have gone all out on this one, updated effects on every story except Planet of Fire and The Caves of Androzani, perhaps updated effects on the entirety of Season 16 isn’t completely out of the question.
Could just be the YouTube upload or maybe I’m being paranoid after Season 13 but the trailer footage looked weirdly smooth. Season 21 is when they started using lower quality videotape so less detail is to be expected but Seasons 22-26 don’t look like this.
I don’t think this will be a pre-order for me, I’ll wait for reviews first.

Fronitos doesn’t have any film sequences and from memory warriors only has a couple of 16 mm shots which weren’t kept. Seeing as I found it most noticeable on the film sequences they don’t already have resurrection is the one to keep an eye on

Having Tales of the TARDIS: Earthshock in its entirety instead of just the bookends does feel like overkill. I personally would’ve been happy with less features for a lower price, but then again, this might just become the new price regardless of the amount of discs.

Especially now looking back at season 20 on h web that is the price I said which is now gone up so much since that came out

December 4th, 2025 - 6:36pmIt’s many years later for the characters though: they comment on their appearances as they’ve aged, plus how the sonic screw driver “never used” to work (past tense). So here, the 5th Doc has simply acquired a supposedly more souped-up one since his first set of travels with Tegan.
When do we expect the Big Finish follow-up when they explore the story of the Daleks having invaded Trion?
Also, I think Pete McTighe is going to be the next showrunner.

Look forward to look who’s boating with Peter, Janet and the lovely Sarah. This a bit of sad season for me as it was the last season I enjoyed on original transmission. Let’s hope this the first of the goodies we can look forward to in 2026
