Doctor Who Tegan Jovanka and Destroyed Dalek Vortex Set
Available to order from www.character-online.com
Character Options releases first Doctor Who exclusive of 2026
The first Doctor Who exclusive figure set of 2026 has been confirmed by Character Options as a ‘Vortex Edition’ of the Tegan Jovanka & Destroyed Dalek. The set will go on sale today, Monday 26th January, available solely through www.character-online.com.
About the Set
This limited-edition “Vortex” set comes with two figures, and two accessories. Both figures feature the now customary higher specification decoration for which this Vortex range is becoming renowned for. The Tegan Figure is intricate in its styling and stands 13.7cm tall, with multiple articulation points consisting of ankles, knees, hips, waist, shoulders, elbows and neck. She comes in the outfit seen in 1984’s iconic story ‘Resurrection Of The Daleks’.

Her accessories consist of a Dalek Trooper gun, as used by Commander Lytton’s Dalek squad, as well as a Movellan virus canister. Also included is a destroyed ‘Resurrection’ style Dalek, with a blasted and scorched casing, Internal life support tank, splattered with bright green Dalek ‘Gloop’ and showing mutant Dalek creature within.

About the episode – Resurrection of the Daleks (1984)
Tegan Jovanka, an Australian air steward from Brisbane, accidentally entered the TARDIS thinking it was a real police box. And so began an amazing journey through time and space, where she encountered many species from distant planets, and faced darker corners of her own psyche.
Introduced during the Fourth Doctor’s era alongside Adric, Tegan soon found herself travelling with the newly regenerated Fifth Doctor, who repeatedly tried to get her home. Tegan repeatedly proved herself a hero, confronting evil, and helping others whenever she could. Her strength and honesty defined her time as a companion, qualities that would later see her return to aid future Doctors when the universe once again needed her.

Al Dewar, Creative Director, Character Options, said: “The one that got away… almost! This set started life many moons ago in a wholly different form and it has been across my desk at least four times in as many years. Once it was possible, it continued to be revised many times over, before finally becoming a completely new figure from top to toe. The team knocked it out the park on this one and we’re very proud to bring the one and only Tegan Jovanka to the figure range.”
This new set is on sale now through www.character-online.co.uk and costs £44.99. Each online exclusive release has unique features not to be seen on retail versions and with a limited amount available, this set is certainly one not to be missed!

January 26th, 2026 - 6:27pmIncredible, I’ve never clicked purchase so quickly.
Been wanting 5th Doctor companions for ages so it’s great to tick one off the list. Also, never got the destroyed Dalek when done for Remembrance and really wanted that too, so a slightly different version for Resurrection instead makes this a perfect combo pack for me.
Only my second Vortex purchase (along with the 3rd Doctor and screwdriver). Got my mum a set as well and it’s only her second Vortex set (along with 14th and Meep). Fair to say that makes this the best set overall from the range for us so far!

January 26th, 2026 - 6:01pmShowing as SOLD OUT already? In fact all Doctor WHO items are showing as SOLD OUT.
A Glitch in the system perhaps?
Ian
January 26th, 2026 - 6:10pmTried Mobile App & Success – just in case anyone else is having the same problem….
Snowman
January 26th, 2026 - 4:10pmAbout bloody time. It’s literally been Years and Years that I’ve seen comments on this site inparticular, asking when is CO going to make some different never before made Companions, especially The Fifth Doctor Companions such as Tegan, Nyssa and Adric.
Kevin
January 26th, 2026 - 3:05pmDid this actually sell out already? Or is it just not available to customers in the U.S.?
booboo
January 26th, 2026 - 3:26pmJust US i think there might be a listing at some stage
Andy
January 26th, 2026 - 2:17pmThis looks fantastic but I can’t recall there ever been a scene in the Resurrection Of The Daleks the Tegan outfit and the accessories are correct but I can’t remember the destroyed Dalek in the story it must have been off screen. It just looks like a copy of the Remembrance Of The Daleks Imperial Destroyed Dalek from about 10 years ago only difference is that it’s green slime. Yeah and the good news is that Character has re-introduced the Pay Pal option. Happy Days.
War Chief.
January 26th, 2026 - 2:23pmAndy, there were more destroyed daleks in Resurrection than there are fleas on a porcupine….
Even the Doctor blew up a couple….
Scotel
January 26th, 2026 - 4:38pmThe Dalek is a modification of the original destroyed Imperial Dalek mould, so not a simple repaint but very similar. Tegan on the other hand is completely new from the ground up.

January 26th, 2026 - 2:02pmThis actually looks amazing especially i only brought the master one aswell on top so far 🙂
David Minter
January 26th, 2026 - 1:33pmThe Dalek is a preexisting mold, correct? I believe it was previously released about 10 years ago in white and gold Remembrance Of The Daleks colors. Although the inclusion of an “amoeboid” Dalek creature inside this mold might be different. I can’t recall the specifics of the Remembrance version. If it had the same dead creature inside it, then it would have been inaccurate as the white and gold Daleks had more “humanoid” creatures inside them, with a bionic claw attached to them.
I do like the inclusion of the Dalek Trooper gun. It was one of my favorite prop weapons from Classic Who.
This Dalek mold could be reused. 🙂 For an Evil Of The Daleks themed set. Just repaint it to match the destroyed Emperor’s Guard Dalek seen with its top blasted off and the creature oozing inside it. Maybe pair it with an undamaged Emperor’s Guard repaint. Or, maybe, hoping against hope, a set with both of those and a new mold of the Emperor Dalek itself.
War Chief
January 26th, 2026 - 1:56pmIt is the Remembrance broken Dalek from 2012, just with a respray….
Looks like they’ve just dyed the dalek green, and taken away the ‘claw’…..
Dalek Steve
January 26th, 2026 - 2:18pmJust looked at my Remembrance version the Dalek creature is their in a brownish colour but it also has a claw arm rising up out of the goo.
Is this the delayed one from last year ? and they did say they were going to tell us when the others would be due ?
Oh yeah and I’ve brought it
Dalek Steve
January 26th, 2026 - 2:22pmIgnore my comment about delayed 2025 and the new ones hadn’t scrolled all the way down the page !
Clay
January 26th, 2026 - 3:56pmIt’s not quite the same as the Remembrance destroyed Dalek – it has a different shoulder section, as the Imperial Daleks don’t have mesh between the slats or rivets on them. The mutant piece looks to be the same though (without the claw obviously)
War Chief
January 26th, 2026 - 1:11pmIf they were going to release a Tegan figure in that outfit, couldn’t they have done a set with her and a Tractator…..?
That would have knocked me off my chair…..!
Excavating Machine optional……..
But seriously, Resurrection is one of my favourite stories, so i love this one…..!
Dave
January 26th, 2026 - 3:33pmThe scale isn’t perfect but these figures do look decent next to an Eaglemoss Tractator
Ian
January 26th, 2026 - 12:59pmGuess this means we will never get Tegan in her air steward outfit. Nice set but not worth £45
Nath
January 26th, 2026 - 1:19pmHaha maybe not to you but when this sells out it will only jump super high like the 14 and meep the beep so it’s probably the cheapest you’ll ever get it for
Amypondfan
January 26th, 2026 - 1:21pmBy the time you factor in production costs, marketing, distribution etc, what exactly do you expect to pay? These things cost money to make, a lot more money than they did 15 years ago, costs have spiralled for manufacturing. And with the best will in the world these sets are definitely in the niche market making costs higher. They are cheap compared to other collections. Most figures come in at around £25-30 for a single figure or more. You can’t expect these for nothing or they will simply stop making them.
Jamie
January 26th, 2026 - 12:06pmAmazing!
Bandersnatural
January 26th, 2026 - 12:06pmShame the postage to get one of these sent to Brisbane is so steep 🙁
Great set, though. Will be very happy to add the only Aussie companion (so far) to my collection, once I sort out my budget.
Sav
January 26th, 2026 - 12:43pmDon’t forget Kylie. Sort of companion for the episode.
Bandersnatural
January 26th, 2026 - 12:48pmGood point!
Troughton’s Trousers
January 26th, 2026 - 12:05pmNot the best likeness for Janet, but it’s better than nothing! An instant order for me.
So nice to have a painless transaction these days, rather than the nightmare we used to have. Well done Character!
Doctorbendisco
January 26th, 2026 - 12:02pmJust ordered mine finally a tegan figure.
MJS
January 26th, 2026 - 11:15amWell, THAT was an instant purchase!
Nath
January 26th, 2026 - 10:47amRoll on the the others they said they would reveal them all at the same time. Is this still happening also can’t wait to get this set thanks for another classic companion wonder who will be next
vladnag
January 26th, 2026 - 11:46amI think this is the final release from last year’s wave which has been delayed.
The next wave they’ve said will be announced all at once and contain a Build-A-Fig, but all of this could have changed!
daz
January 26th, 2026 - 12:32pmNath. This is the final release of 2025 as it was delayed.
The 2026 range is planned to be revealed in one go as per what Al said on the figure podcast he’s on.
Not clear if it is a build a figure range but rumoured.
Scotel
January 26th, 2026 - 12:48pmHe’s said it’s possible it will all be revealed in one go (and that’s definitely his preferred option) but it will all be down to what marketing want to do at the time, nothing is set in stone. Definitely said nothing about a build a figure.
Nath
January 26th, 2026 - 1:22pmI know this was the final figure from. Last year so I was talking about this years wave wondered what they meant by the start of the year
The Outcast
January 26th, 2026 - 1:25pmScotel is right, a big reveal of the next lot of sets is definitely the preference, but not set in stone, and certainly nothing was said of a Build-A-Figure!
John
January 26th, 2026 - 10:46amCouple of tiny gripes – Tegan likeness isn’t great and the bumper scuffing irritates me BUT woweeeeee what a set!!!
Just fantastic, its the set I wish had existed when I watched Resurrection as a 7 year old.
I’m so happy, I’ve ordered 2.
Another superb set almost equalling he Ainley one – what next for the rest of the year I wonder.
Master
January 26th, 2026 - 11:14amIve been wanting 5th doctor companions in 5 inch scale for years. Ok, Tegans likeness isnt perfect but this is a must have for me.
Hopes for adric, nyssa, turlough and kamelion in future.
John
January 26th, 2026 - 11:28amMaster, couldn’t agree more. Though we’ve had Kamelion technically!!!!
Amypondfan
January 26th, 2026 - 11:55amI agree about the likeness but the bumper scuffing is because the dalek has been blown up!
Doctor dolby
January 26th, 2026 - 10:36amFantastic I have ordered my
War Chief.
January 26th, 2026 - 10:36amOh my God….I take it all back…
Character Options, I love you…..!
Would have preferred a Commander Lytton himself….or any Dalek Trooper…..or one of those homicidal policemen…
But these are mere quibbles…..
vladnag
January 26th, 2026 - 11:50amHonestly a 3 pack similar to the Death to the Daleks release with 2x Dalek Troopers and Commander Lytton would be an amazing piece to go along with this
Kev
January 26th, 2026 - 1:27pmWhat death to theDaleks release?
bryan
January 26th, 2026 - 10:36amFantastic. Best thing to cheer up a dull Monday.
Tegan looks superb, but that’s what we expect from this series. The spare Gun will be in the 5th Doctors hands and pointing at Davros as soon as the pack is open.
Loving the paint app to the Dalek.
Master
January 26th, 2026 - 2:48pmI was thinking the same about the dalek gun but i think i sold my molloy davros years back so he wont be pointing it at anything. Unless he points it at Tegan. After his expression at the end of timeflight, it seemed he wasnt that keen on having her back aboard anyway.
Master
January 26th, 2026 - 2:51pmSorry i meant to say Arc of infinity.
Rob
January 26th, 2026 - 10:32amJust in time for the season 21 collection and also the Capitol event by DWAS which Janet is attending
