Interesting !! How long has this been on the eaglemoss site

I normally check every few days (usually access the star trek star ships via the dr who pages) and never noticed this… its not been announced with very much ceremony. Looks like its still got that odd looking gun stick…..

nothing, always amazes me these things go up for order and they dont want to tell you anything about it

I’m surprised the BBC have licensed two such similar products especially in such a niche market.

there is only so much money to go round and it far to stretched as it is.

  • DalekFan

The magazine, while part of the Doctor Who Figurine Collection, is a completely standalone issue.

The figurine is based on a new sculpt.

I like the idea of advertising to subscribers first. That seems very fair. But how long should Eaglemoss wait for replies? Time is money. The logistics of waiting (and I agree that it seems like good manners) make me think the price would go up.

Why is everyone saying that it’s overpriced? It’s in the same price range as many statues the same size and even smaller. I happen to like it. I ordered it. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.. I happen to think it’s worth the money. I have a lot of Doctor Who statutes that I have paid just as much or even more for. To me, this makes another great addition to my Dalek collection.

Because it’s ultimately part of the collection, comes with a magazine, etc. so it will annoy some completionists.

    • Cyberman Bill

      August 4th, 2016 - 6:08pm

Yes but that doesn’t tell me why people think it’s over priced. It’s the same price as the 4th Doctor statue I have which is smaller and several others. People may be upset but to say it’s overpriced… I just think maybe it’s out of people’s price range. I’m a completist so I will get it.

I don’t see this as remotely part of the collection, just a high end new line

    • Jordan Scott

      August 5th, 2016 - 12:38am

The thing is, pretty much every piece of collectors’ merchandise is over priced, some of them are really good but companies know that they can charge what ever they like and people will still buy them! Eaglemoss just make small figurines for magazines and I know for a fact that this will just be an enlarged version of what they’ve already done (perhaps with a slightly improved paint job as it’s larger and easier to paint). The Weta Dalek statue was only £15 more than this when it was first released and that was well worth it’s money, probably the most detailed Dalek model ever – but Eaglemoss aren’t exactly Weta… And to me it does seem to be part of the collection considering that it’s a Doctor Who Figurine that comes with a magazine which will probably have the same design as the smaller scale collection!

Do we really need a larger scale version of this? Eagle Moss would be better off supplying Fans with a full set of Companions. If this figure is anything to go by its just a larger scale version of what is already out seems pointless.

    • booboo

      August 2nd, 2016 - 10:56pm

separate range, character made 5″ Daleks as well as 12″ and 18″ Daleks dont see why Eaglemoss cant do the same if they think there is a market

this doesn’t effect anything as far as the figurine collection goes

    • AngryDrashig

      August 3rd, 2016 - 12:55pm

Full set of companions. No thanks they have trouble getting the Doctors likeness right let alone companions. The day they start is the day my subscription ends. There’s a mass of untouched classic monsters and aliens to do before they start on a mass of figures which wont look anything like. There are still to many new who aliens.

True and I am sure it will have quite a bit of weight to it as well.

I agree, When pictures get released on the internet of people that have bought it that will be the best time to see how good and accurate it is, and then see if I want it considering the amount of money it costs.

Not sure about this, like the idea of the statute, seems a bit strange it comes with a magazine, at $124.99, that with be expensive to get all the collection, depending how often they come out and how many there is. Also although eaglemoss have got alot better with the detailing, they can be a bit hit and miss, hopefully as these are more expensive they won’t be off with the paint and the mouldings.

I think they should offer it to subscribers before everyone else – even though I wont be buying, its just good manners.
In my opinion they should try doing something different with Daleks. I’m bored of the same bronze Daleks. I loved that union jack Dalek, something more like that, for example with the Olympics coming up, an Olympic themed Dalek. That way a lot of people who don’t buy Daleks might if its got a relevant theme.

Well, the US price of $125 would roughly translate to around £90-ish. Of course, Eaglemoss’s RRP may not be a ‘straight’ price conversion from the US price, it could be more or less than the level equivalent.

    • booboo

      July 30th, 2016 - 8:48am

the figurines are much more expensive in the states, about £11, so I’m hoping this will be a bit cheaper
