April 10th, 2026 - 11:12amWhat 30 years? This is the Doctor we never had, ignored by the new series producers. A missed opportunity.
More then 2 alphabets
April 11th, 2026 - 10:39pmBut has consistently played the doctor for 25 years at big finish………………I will wait for the “big finish doesnt count” nonsense

April 12th, 2026 - 7:06pmIgnored? He’s been brought back twice
James
April 13th, 2026 - 11:52amIgnored? No he did have a 5 minute minisode for the 50th Anniversary (Night of the Doctor) and a brief cameo with 4 other Classic Doctors in BBC Anniversary in 2022 (Power of the Doctor).
I do wish though they did a mini series (8 eps). Along with a 5 Doc mini series too

April 14th, 2026 - 5:47pmBear in mind these recent ‘XX Years of the Y Doctor’ Specials have taken the approach of heavily leaning into much more than the TV episodes of that Doctor – for example, the 50 Years of the 4th Doctor was built around a very detailed timeline that summarised all his Biig Finish, comic strip and original novels adventures (showing where the TV stories fitted into tha flow) and IIRC last year’s 20 Years of the 9th Doctor edition did much the same. So this really will likely have a full 30 years of the 8th Doctor’s unfolding storyline to focus on.

April 27th, 2026 - 9:51amI can’t see that as anything other than an egg in his hand in this pic now lol.
War Chief.
April 7th, 2026 - 3:52pmI really liked the Paul McGann Tardis console room….
Certainly a bit different….!
And he was perfect as the Doctor….

April 7th, 2026 - 4:15pmI really enjoy the movie. Yes, it’s not perfect but it’s fun and the makers hearts were in the right place.

April 7th, 2026 - 12:54pm30 years… Gods I’m old
War Chief
April 7th, 2026 - 1:22pmIndeed….i was in my mid 20s……the only thing Dr Who wise to look forward to up till then, was a New Adventures novel every 2 months….
And some of those were better then others….
I wouldn’t even have a sonic screwdriver for another 10 years….
War Chief
April 7th, 2026 - 1:24pmOh, i forgot the video releases…..they were very exciting…..!
Bookcollector
April 7th, 2026 - 3:03pmSimilar age. Target books were the joy in the 70’s and 80’s vhs and virgin books in the 90’s then mcgann! Exciting times… briefly… then we got new who which I loved until the last three years. Still, we have the animations and new old episodes!

April 7th, 2026 - 10:32amMust be around 700 specials a year now
bryan
April 7th, 2026 - 10:42amI think your mixing up specials and Bookazines(gosh I hate that word) . Special are 3 a year, and come with the DWM Subscription bif you do 13+3 sub. Or are usually cheaper than the Bookazines, which can be £12 to £20 quid each. Think year dates like 1970 or 1984 bookazines. Where-as the Yearbook 2026 is a special Edition.
6 a year unless there’s something big like a 65th birthday to celebrate.
Pity this wasn’t 1996 and Beyond .He’s Back and He’s still here.
Peter
April 7th, 2026 - 11:07amHow awful, eh WhoRu – more good material for us to read. Sucks being a fan of this show…
I didn’t expect this special TBF: DWM did a really good edition looking at the TV 10 years ago (which had an interview with Richard Tipple).
Bellal
April 8th, 2026 - 1:26amYeah very true Peter.
Treasure my 20th anniversary Movie edition from 2016. Happy times and contanied some fascinatining content. A better cover for me than this one!
On anthother note, I feel classic who content has sort of been milked to death at this point (excluding 30th anniversary 4k and epsiodes found, oh what a brilliant year for us).
Would absilutely love a bookazine for 2017 for example covering Capaldi. In all honesty, even though i love it, i feel i’m never going to learn anything new about the production of say 80s who
Peter
April 8th, 2026 - 10:00amI feel the same as yourself Bellal – at the stage (31 years now of being a die hard fan, since I was 10 going on 11 years old) where I feel there’s little new I can learn about most eras of the show*. I do think this special won’t dethrone the 2016 DWM look at the TVM, but willing to be proved wrong.
It was incredible seeing the two newly returned missing episodes – so many little details on screen that couldn’t be gleamed from soundtracks and scripts.
