The mag arrived today, it’s great, lots of new info and articles on people not normally interviewed.

Their selling of the season 24 box set had me very tempted but i think i’ll wait for the standard release as i prefer the less cumbersome packaging.

It’s weird at the moment with DWM as you wouldn’t think there was a series still in production? Most of the covers and content is looking back at classic series. It’s almost like being back in the Wilderness Years with the mag

I stopped reading when it was mostly new stuff, enjoying more classic.

The current show runners don’t like the magazine that much.

      So no exclusives.

So the editors have to fill the pages with something.

If you get chance there is an recent two part interview on You Tube with the DWM team. They carefully swerve this one IMO by saying that the access given by the RTD/Moffatt production teams were exceptional and not the real norm for licensed magazines and what we have now is still better than other similar magazines. Also they mention that Chibnall likes to play his cards close to his chest and also that he doesn’t think that there is much new to say.

Personally I love that there are virtually no spoilers now. I’d rather not know in advance.

@Kevin225 do you know the time stamp when that comment comes up? I think I’ve found the interview but would love to find those comments.

I get the impression they’re struggling with a lack of access, support and exclusives as well. Maybe it’s just that we were spoiled in the RTD/Moffat eras. I understand people saying they like knowing nothing, and you’ve got to respect it if that’s the way Chris wants to play it, but it would be nice to have some in-depth coverage after the episodes! Retrospective interviews, thought processes behind the stories etc. But we get so little of that now!

Back in the day interest was kept up without giving anything away, anyone remember who spy and all those fake websites

@Haza14 – I can’t remember the exact timing, but it was in the second part during the Q&A, I recall. There is a mention of the interviews in Page 7 of the latest issues.

Still no comic strip? Does anyone else think they’ve just finally decided to quietly drop it seeing as it was supposedly the most expensive part of the mag? Be nice if they reduced the price seeing as the page count has vastly decreased.

I so miss the comic strip, the heart of the mag for me. Shame on the Panini bean counters 🙁

The comic strip is an odd one that divides opinion. You enjoy it yet i think it’s a waste of space and never read it.

I’d never actually noticed that it wasn’t there.

Does anyone actually get their subscribers copy delivered early anymore? I know i haven’t all year.

Me too though the last few comic strips have been very sub-standard.

I think we need to be mindful that it is what it is at the moment. Would people rather no magazine at all? I don’t think that a price decrease is happening without a smaller magazine. Do people want that too? Quality magazines that still survive are only going to get more and more expensive as they become increasingly niche IMO.

If I weren’t subscribing, I probably would too. It all looks very bland to me and seeing as even the Fact of Fiction is a classic story this month, it seems the closest thing to new series content is the competition prizes.
