I picked this up today and the cover looks even better in person

The “previews” part of this mag are not really preview he mainly just talks about the writers and now and the some proper info on the episode and sadly there are no new series images

It seems we will get a 12th doctor comic next month in the bumper issue witch includes 100 pages and a double sided poster with proper preveiws on the next 4 episodes

Be great to have the new Doctor in poster form on my Bedroom wall.

Maybe DWM should do a life size 12th Doctor poster, you know, like how Doctor Who Adventures did where you joined two poster together cos both halfs made up one big poster.

I remember DWA did it with the Tardis’s Police Box exterior years ago with the 9th/10th Doctor version.

Speaking of Daleks, some say that in The Day Of The Doctor, the real reason why the Dalek ships attacking Gallifrey were destroyed had nothing to do with transporting Gallifrey and the resulting crossfire, but was instesd because Capaldi directed that glare and those eyes at every Dalek ship simultaneously, causing them to instantly explode
Those eyes are powerful weapons – there is no doubting that, or the power of Capaldi

Cassius X – No no no no no, his giving the evil stare of Malcolm Tucker !!.

With that look, he can make anyone wet themselves . . . . even the bad guys of the universe !!.

Watch out Davros, he’ll make you wet your old pair of Doctor Who pant’s with the 4th Doctor printed on them.

Oh yeah, didn’t you know, Davros loves the 4th Doctor so much he somehow manages to wear little boys pant’s with him on them πŸ˜€

    Just got my subscription copy.

As I’m sure anybody who thought it through could guess, the preview is just Steven Moffat giving very vague information on the writers of each episode, one word per writer, has a go at himself for not being good since the first series of Press Gang then instructs fans if they really wanted to know everything about the episodes they should look it up on the internet (doesn’t take much to guess what that was referencing…)

The amount of discussion about Capaldi’s ring is ridiculous in my opinion – it’s like people debating the meaning of his socks!
If it has any significance besides being part of his costume (and Capaldi’s real wedding band) then we’ll see when the show airs, but I really doubt it has much significance at all

of cause where going to have descusinons about the doctors ring where whovinas for goodness sake I remember when it was revealed the silence would be whering turtle necks loads of people started talking about that

and anyway rings have had a past in doctor who

the first and 7th doctor had a signet ring
      the masters ring

      July 22nd, 2014 - 8:03pm

well we are doctor who fans and we spot and talk about everything

and any ways rings have had a significant past in doctor who before

the first and 7th doctor had a signet ring
and the master had a ring

    • The Other

      July 24th, 2014 - 12:42am

TBH the 1st and 7th Doctor’s rings were just part of their costume, as I expect this will be
The Master’s ring was the only ring of true significance, and that was a one-off

It really depends what age you are. DWA is much better than DWM for younger readers and DWM is better for the more matured readers. They’re both as good as each other when you think about it like that.

    • The Surgeon

DWM. Definitely. I think I had three ‘surprise gifts’ of plastic Sontaran miniatures before I gave up. My first issue of DWM was about Let’s Kill Hitler and even back when I was however young I was then I knew how much better DWM was.

    • The Surgeon

      July 22nd, 2014 - 4:17pm

      July 22nd, 2014 - 5:16pm

I like both of them, whoever claims that they don’t get one of the magazines because of the uninteresting features are using Rule 1 from the ‘Time Lord Secrets’ guide.

I may have rants occasionally about how much DWA are bugging me because of their features, but like many- that may be because I am an older reader than the CHILDREN who DWA is intended for, but that doesn’t mean that I will stop buying it- just because its intended for children doesn’t mean older readers still can’t enjoy it.

    July 21st, 2014 - 10:42pm

    • DOCTOR WHO ONE

      July 22nd, 2014 - 9:23am

No, the 1st Doctor wore a different ring with a blue gem on it, this one is totally new, and if it is true that it’s actually Capaldi’s wedding ring, then I assume the bit on the front of it has been attached to his ring when playing the Doctor.

    • The Twelfth Doctor

      July 22nd, 2014 - 9:25am

If the Doctor is now 2000 years old, I think he’d now be using an updated piece of technology. I mean, no one can go 10 years without a new phone, never mind 2000.
