October 17th, 2024 - 11:37pmThe slip cases on these editions, are they sturdy or flimsy? Does it essentially change a paperback into a hard back?
Snowman
October 18th, 2024 - 12:02amIf it’s like the “Into the Vortex” Magazine that came out a Few Weeks ago, there Quite Sturdy. (like a Hardback Cover). It reminds me of some of the DVD/ Blu-ray Slip Covers.

October 17th, 2024 - 5:00pmTo be fair, that’s the same for every reference work on an ongoing series. There will always be something new, and some of it will even retcon past events.

October 18th, 2024 - 11:39amRory .you are right the amount of times i got a “new ” james bond book then a another film come out,, from 1989 to 1995 all the doctor who reference books were up to date so i suppose its a good thing they do need updating every now and then

October 17th, 2024 - 1:31pmDoes this mean that DWM won’t be continuing the Doctor Who Chronicles range? This will be the 3rd bookazines since the last edition of the Chronicles was released, feels like we aren’t getting any more of that range, which would be a shame.

October 17th, 2024 - 1:52pmI’d be gutted if they stop the Chronicles. Best title they published

October 17th, 2024 - 4:05pmAgree about the Chronicles, that series had a lot more potential and shame if its stopped. This Dalek one looks good though, in fact any Bookazine that comes out is of high quality.

October 19th, 2024 - 5:52pmIt seems they stopped publishing the Chronicles with the 1971 volume… I’m sure I read confirmation of that somewhere. They did start to limp on a bit towards the end and there was only so long they could carry on before they’d filled in all the years and called them ‘landmarks’!

October 20th, 2024 - 1:09amThat’s a real shame if they’ve discontinued the Chronicles range although I’d kind of assumed given there’s only been the one in the past year. They only did, what, 9 issues and I felt there was a lot more to cover. I feel increasingly with DWM that it’s the specials which are the real thing (this year’s Print The Legend and Missing Episodes in particular) while the actual regular magazine is really struggling. Endless articles on stuff like the Proms, lots of poorly written articles on fandom, feels like they’re desperately trying and struggling to find a notional readership that isn’t there.

October 20th, 2024 - 11:45amShame but considering they’d already done the history of classic era with the complete history partwork a few years previous which also coveted upto 12ths exit. They could carry on or re-release the previous range ad partworjs are always recycled over the years. Worked in whs and amount of times I saw build a body, rocks, real insects come through.
If they wanted they could do season bookazines instead of singular years

October 17th, 2024 - 1:27pmi like these bookazine s but it is a bit soon after the last one at £20 a pop

October 17th, 2024 - 10:00amWondering why Panini don’t just publish these as actual books. £19.99 is more then the graphic novel books which have proper binding.
Neil
October 17th, 2024 - 2:37pmIndeed. These could easily be done as hardbacks like the annuals, or the old DWM yearbooks.
