Doctor Who 5.5″ Action Figure Missy UK Packaging Exclusive
These exclusive and limited edition action figures are highly detailed and features 18 points of articulation, interchangeable head (with hat) and iconic accessories including Missy’s umbrella and “Missy Device”.
Available to order now Exclusively in the UK from www.character-online.com
Character Options has unveiled details of a brand new Limited Edition Doctor Who 5.5” scale action figure. Images of the Missy figure, first in a new range of scale Doctor Who Collector Series toys were revealed by Alasdair Dewar, Product Development Director, today via video on the Character Options’ website.
Missy, played by Michelle Gomez, is a villainous Time Lady who recently revealed herself as the Doctor’s arch enemy, the Master! Missy has been firmly established as a new fan favourite character, and as a collector’s figure, she is truly a must have.
The Missy Figure will be available in two variants; a purple outfitted version with hat from the series finale episodes; and alternatively in her ‘Heaven’ outfit, hatless with black jacket and manic grin.
The Missy figures each have 18 points of articulation and are highly detailed and decorated. Each figure head can also be swapped so that both heads can be incorporated with either outfit, and they both come with accessories.
The bespoke UK Collector Series packs are perfect for display and for the first time are re-sealable, so that the figures can be enjoyed in or out of packaging without losing their collectability.
Only 4,000 units of each of the two figures are available in exclusive UK packaging at www.character-online.co.uk for a price of £19.99 each (excluding P&P). Delivery will be made to customers by early November.
Al Dewar states: “Character Options has been designing, manufacturing and marketing Doctor Who toys since 2005, so as true fans of the brand we wanted to tell collectors the latest news in the most direct, if informal way, which is why I made the announcement in person on the website.
Missy is the first of a potential new line of highly sought after 5.5-inch action figures so we expect interest to be high and we are all very excited to share this with fans and collectors alike.
“Working with Michelle Gomez was great fun and she was the best subject we ever 3D scanned, patiently holding her facial expressions including her trademark Missy “sneer” for long periods of time. We know that many collectors have been eagerly waiting to see if Missy would at some point be included within our figure range, and at last, here she is.”

December 7th, 2015 - 4:51pmProbably soon as they are exclusive

Does this mean that only 4,000 are in the special UK packaging or is there only 4,000 made? I live in the US so I would really like to know because it’s crazy expensive to get in the US right now..
booboo
September 25th, 2015 - 12:40pm4000 of each in UK packaging, undisclosed figure of the purple one in the USA

September 25th, 2015 - 9:31amQuestion for anyone who has ordered, has the money been taken already ? Or will it be on dispatch?
booboo
September 25th, 2015 - 9:33ammoney seems to be taken straight away, i dont think Character were ever geared up to “pre orders” to be honest
Its either “in stock” or “email me when in stock”
mick
September 25th, 2015 - 3:52pmthey have told me for future pre- order figures that they may do they are trying to put something in place so it doesn’t charge you straight away.
Timelord3
September 25th, 2015 - 9:25amIs this gonna suffer the height issues of the 12 figure did? I.e. Way out of scale?
shatner
September 25th, 2015 - 2:14pmif you stand all the doctors together it is not to tall at all same height as 3rd and 4th doctor
DS
September 25th, 2015 - 3:27pmYes, he is taller than he could have been.
We know from his previous doctor who appearance how he stands shorter than David Tennant and that height has been previously adjusted for other doctors such as the 7th and War Doctor but I don’t really mind.
It could be a problem if he was taller than all the doctors in any future productions though.

September 25th, 2015 - 5:13amI really hope that Pop-Cultcha manages to get some of these along with both variants of the twelfth doctor!
Mad-Man With A Box
September 25th, 2015 - 6:08amSo do I, Australia seems to get shafted quite a lot these days. It’s all the UK (fair enough) and the US (not so fair, considering Australia has a quite a large fanbase too).
TARDISGuy
September 25th, 2015 - 6:17amSo strange/disappointing that we got the Time of the Doctor and War Doctor sets but not the Impossible Set. I was looking forward to getting the B&M 4th Doctor pack and the new 12th Doctors but no, I’ll have to pay a fortune for them on ebay.
booboo
September 25th, 2015 - 7:17amsomething has clearly changed with the distribution as Australia used to get a lot of things and first
I always thought demand was good there so I’m not sure why its being by past now
taking that aside its the global shipping costs that’s the killer
Jdog
September 25th, 2015 - 7:29amCharacter’s Twitter replied to someone with the same question saying that it would only be sold off their website and nowhere else like PopCultcha.
Strangely, there was only one place I knew that actually did stock a few of The Impossible Set which is where I bought it from, but nowhere else in AUS did. No point telling where as they would be all gone now.

September 24th, 2015 - 11:51pmCharacter, you cheeky little company! Say something nice… So wish the purple dress one had the black figure head, that head looks so much more perfect!!
When The Doctor Was Me
September 24th, 2015 - 11:35pmI have ordered the purple varient this morning. I much prefer the colour amd costume. I also prefer the hatted head so works good for me. I must say it would have been nice for 2 heads in each set, but i’m not to fussed. In the top pic the side view of the hatted head looks great. The grin not so much. But the grin face looks very good in the faded packaging picture. Roll on the delivery! Just need a 12th doctor to go with her.
anon
September 24th, 2015 - 11:27pmDue to so many people being greedy and ordering more than 2 (purple and black), im probably going to lose out on this, and i am not goin to look on ebay, as a new car would probably cost less.
I am only after the purple version but i really am not going to hold my breath 🙁
DoctorSong2016
September 24th, 2015 - 11:34pmI agree that’s quite greedy, it’s fine if people get one of each but more than or of each is greedy and unnecessary, I want both but I can’t order until Tuesday I hope they are still there
Ollie
September 25th, 2015 - 6:07amIt’s not greedy at all – it’s an investment for my collection personally. Once I’d collected all the 5in figures boxed, I started buying them loose to display in big glass cabinets. They look fantastic on display and hold their value really well. If you’re going to buy an extra two to put on eBay and make a quick buck, then yeah I’d complain but not if you’re a genuine collector. I bought three (and three Capaldis the other day) and I’m already wishing I bought four now…
booboo
September 25th, 2015 - 7:09am4000 of each is a lot to sell as a on-line exclusive to one retailer
To a certain extent the success of these may rely on core collectors buying multiples with some buying 4 to have all possible variants on display
its not greedy its what collectors do
Antonio Zambonini
September 25th, 2015 - 12:36pmI think tbh it should be like the war dr only 1 limited per customer as that was really unfair even more when it was sold out in seconds
the ergon
September 25th, 2015 - 12:44pmIf there are only so many units available, is it taken into account from previous sales how many are made? Is this the trend for future 5 inch products?
whovian
September 25th, 2015 - 3:06pmI dont care what anyone says, to order more than the released variants is plain unfair to other fans who want just one.
There should be a limit!
booboo
September 25th, 2015 - 3:09pmif they did you can probably kick goodbye to the range right now
Nothing unfair about it and collectors generally order very quickly when the item is put up
Ollie
September 25th, 2015 - 6:33pmWhovian, if you want one, order one. That’s what collectors do. Do your research online…You’ll only be annoyed when they’re sold out and going for silly money on eBay. Whether I buy one or four, I’m still a collector with an enthusiasm for the figures. Greed and fairness for other fans shouldn’t come into it. The more people who buy them, more likely Character are to make more.

September 24th, 2015 - 10:54pmAre they individually numbered?
prototype dalek
December 7th, 2015 - 4:52pmno, just overall number that was publically given
Jamie
September 24th, 2015 - 10:44pmEver since the 5 inch range became much more sporadic I have seen lots of people saying they would be happy to pay a higher price to get the characters they wanted in 5 inch scale. Well now its time to put your money where your mouth is everyone! Character Options are doing this for us, we cannot let this fail! 😀
Luke
September 24th, 2015 - 10:47pmI agree

September 25th, 2015 - 9:40amI agree
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
September 24th, 2015 - 10:37pmI ordered the black… just for the face

September 24th, 2015 - 11:04pmI prefer the more neutral face of the purple one.
The Rise Of Skaro
September 24th, 2015 - 10:29pm‘Missy is the first of a potential new line of highly sought after 5.5-inch action figures’
The Rise Of Skaro
September 24th, 2015 - 10:30pmSounds like the start of a new series of 5inch to me?
booboo
September 24th, 2015 - 10:38pmyes but i don’t think we will see the wave of figures we used to get
the ergon
September 25th, 2015 - 12:55pmThis is 5:5, not 5 inch. Its a whole new range and it doesn,t matter if these are sporadically released or exclusive, because lets face it some of the 5 inch stuff they couldn,t clear from the retail shelves. As long as their listening to the fans and being selective what gets released, all the better. A lot of people aren,t happy with the new star wars range citing them being inarticulate, but with more accessories. It seems you can,t please everyone all the time.
the paternoster gang
September 24th, 2015 - 10:23pmBooboo do you think the packaging will be numbered (eg out of 4000)?
DannyTheNerd
September 25th, 2015 - 9:23amProbably. I hope so anyway
Cyberlord
September 24th, 2015 - 10:16pmRe-watching series 8, I realised I would quite like a Danny figure,
along with Kate L-S and Osgood.
The Rise Of Skaro
September 24th, 2015 - 10:11pmDoes this mean that character are finally getting back to the 5inch Line & are gonna do a full series of figures? 😀
booboo
September 24th, 2015 - 10:15pmno, and they never left the 5″ just few and far between
with no big retailer interest and huge investment costs this is really the only route they can take now
The Rise Of Skaro
September 24th, 2015 - 10:27pmSo are we not getting a full line of 5inch then?, cause these 1 off exclusives are too pricey, I liked the old days where you could get a figure for £10
booboo
September 24th, 2015 - 10:39pmback then there was a much wider market and retailer base
its just not there anymore
Jamie
September 24th, 2015 - 10:41pmIts funny you say that because everyone used to complain 9.99 was to much and that they wanted to go back to the days of 6.99…..
Cyberman Bill
September 24th, 2015 - 11:51pmNo…. These are special… The main line is still the 3.75″. Money wise it doesn’t make sense to go back. As its been said already…. People were saying they would pay extra money to have the 5″ figures back….. Well, here is a 5″ figure, put your money where your mouth is people
The Rise Of Skaro
September 25th, 2015 - 12:03amWoah, you people get too in depth, just saying I miss the old times, geez
The Rise Of Skaro
September 25th, 2015 - 12:09amI personally think £10 is a decent price, its not too pricey & not too low. I’m not a kid, but if younger kids wanted to start collecting 5inch doctor who figures, they probably wont have the money, if it £20 + P&P a figure
cyberdoctor42
September 24th, 2015 - 10:06pmI just think it would be appropriate to point out that this morning in English i gave a persuasive speech on why character should change the scale of figures back to five inch. My teacher had no idea what the speech was about but gave me an A just for how persuasive my enthusiasm was.

September 24th, 2015 - 9:59pmORDERED!!
DoctorSong2016
September 24th, 2015 - 9:56pmthe thing wrong with both of these figures is the hatted head shows like zero emotion like the 12th doctor figure so she looks plain and the grinning face looks like a Buffy Gentleman in a dress and wig
Floppy Who
September 24th, 2015 - 10:08pmAh, the Gentleman…! I’d forgotten about them..!
DoctorSong2016
September 24th, 2015 - 9:51pmthe hat looks really good on the black body, im definitely getting both, Curator can wait till Christmas and I should still have enough money for the doctor and clara but for nowmy priorities are
. Missy (both)
.Twelfth Doctor (purple shirt)
. Clara
. Curator set

September 24th, 2015 - 9:16pmI’ve ordered the purple dress one but the more I look at it the more I love the black dress version with that fantastic mad grin.
I think I’ll have to get both after all.
Wally
September 24th, 2015 - 8:38pmI want to get a good collection going, what are the figures in scale with Missy?
cyberdoctor42
September 24th, 2015 - 10:00pmAll the five inch ones, so all the classic and 10th doctor ones and almost all the eleventh and a few 12th doctor figures. Quite a good selection, my personal favourite figures being the revenge of the cybermen three pack which is on sale in forbidden planet i think. Great set. Also b&m sell a couple of really cheap three packs if you live in the uk.
Wally
September 24th, 2015 - 10:29pmWould this not be bigger because it’s 5.5 inches?
The Rise Of Skaro
September 24th, 2015 - 10:33pmAll the humanoid figures are 5.5inch

September 24th, 2015 - 11:16pmThe Bronze Daleks are five inches so that’s what everything is scaled relative to (those Daleks were 5′ 4″ in reality for comparison).

September 25th, 2015 - 7:17amIf you measure you’re other 5″ figures you’ll find they’re 5.5″. I stumbled across that one day

September 24th, 2015 - 8:13pmJust ordered 3 and got free postage! Win! Two purple and one in black – the purple one is going on display. Ordering them was a no-brainer for me at £20 each – they could be going for stupid money on eBay within the next few months like the War Doctor was before the FPI re-stocks…

September 24th, 2015 - 8:34pmI agree

September 24th, 2015 - 7:45pmWell this will probably be sold out by the time I order it
