So fantastic to see that these sets at least are appearing in places that didn’t see the last releases.
Hopefully a sign of better things to come

So B&M have reduced the Summer Wave 3 Figure sets, but not the HOTD #1, #2 or War Games Tardis sets, and even MORE strangely, one of the 4 Stores in Ipswich (the original one), still has several of each of the Big Finish Dalek sets, and they’re still being sold at full price too…
Y-e-a-h, B&M has certainly made some “strange” decisions during the second half of 2020 haven’t they…
Still at least the Coal Hill School and Witch’s Familiar sets are getting out where they should!
Personally I’m still eagerly waiting to see what the next Online Exclusive set will be…

no doubt its all down the quantity left on the system + time on sale, for me it means the October 3 figure sets have just not shifted enough but then we all know why.

      December 15th, 2020 - 3:06am

Did the September/November sets ever even reach that store? I was not aware of them till recently. I only see the full price July sets.
Copdock has a couple of Big Finish ones left (something like that. Can’t remember).
I managed to nab the last two Ace/Dalek sets at Ransomes & they have a load of 12th Doctor/Dalek sets!
      I need Dalek history #3 & #4

It’s SO frustrating! Why can’t they distribute evenly and/or do mail order?!

In my opinion instead of reducing price they should redistribute them to the areas that haven’t even got them still!

I agree, its just something B&M dont do, i just hope the distribution problems haven’t tagged them a poor sellers, non of the earlier sets have been reduced so far so its clear this is an issue.

      December 12th, 2020 - 5:38pm

I agree it would be such a shame for us to see this negatively impacting on future sets when the reality is that they do sell well but B&M has made a huge mistake. I hope Character recognise this. I emailed them to let them know the situation and I hope others have as well.

You would hope that Character would ask questions of B&M as all previous three figure sets have sold well, so the anomaly should be enough to make them dig deep and find out why.

The response I had from Character was very generic ‘we have no control over distribution’. Okay I get that, but how much money they make and how successful their line is hinges on B&M doing what they should be doing – distribution. In this scenario they have not distributed adequately.

Such a shame Character don’t have any of these sets because if they offered them for sale online they would instantly see that they sell well. Half the Who fans in the country would snap them up!

It did slightly frustrate me that I took the time to tell Character about this and they just didn’t seem to get the issue or acknowledge that I had tried to let them know/help them. Well, it’s their business I guess…

Reporting the presence of Witch’s Familiar sets at the Ipswich Bury Road Store (I counted at least 4 after I picked mine up), plus there are still several Coal Hill School sets in stock.
There were also Coal Hill School sets in the Ipswich Carr Street Store as of yesterday.

It looks like Gogs1 on Amazon has dropped the prices of ALL of the box sets, other than the new Witch’s Familiar and Coal Hill sets to only $24.99 American! And, yes, ALL of them, including the Dalek set (although they only have the second Dalek History set – Did they ever get the 3rd and 4th sets?), the TARDIS sets and both waves of the 3-figure sets. Amazon is showing their regular price at only $29.99, so the price seems to have dropped to that regular price now. The individual figures are $12.99. Witch’s Familiar and Coal Hill are $39.99.

Also, all of them — besides those two sets, which won’t be stocked (or restocked?) until January 15th — are showing as available now, and would be delivered to me in 1-3 days with Amazon Prime, and nearly all of them in 1-2 days. So, it looks like Amazon now has these well distributed to their warehouses around the country.

It took a while, but it looks like Gogs1 and Amazon have their acts together.

Gogs1 did get in Daleks Sets 3 and 4. I got mine through them as WhoNA never stocked Set #4. And, I agree. I posted somewhere else that they seemed to learn some lessons from their first go around. I had no problems this time getting stock from them.

I’ve also ordered the Witch’s Familiar and Coal Hill School sets from them.

Hopefully they can sort out this distribution for the next releases so this doesn’t happen again.
As someone who lives in the east of the UK I know I would’ve brought all the sets at retail price as well as many others!

    December 7th, 2020 - 8:05pm

I checked in my local B&M today and the 13th Doctor set (the first one) is still £19.99. So it seems to be just the second (October) companions of 13th Doctors set that has been reduced.
Logic would think it would be the older one that would be reduced…

I’ve had absolutely rubbish luck this time around, the B&M in Arnold, Nottingham only has the second release of the 4th Doctor Companions set and the History of the Daleks #4 set, but they do keep selling out (From what I have seen). The Bulwell one in Nottingham literally only has the Friends and Foe of 13. I really do not want to buy off the scalpers as they are charging the price of 1 set for a single figure.
