These four new lines are the first of many new releases to be announced this year.

Revived from limited edition lines, these incredibly popular classic collection sets have been refreshed from their original releases with new and exciting features for fans to enjoy.

The Third Doctor & TARDIS from ‘The Monster of Peladon’ (£19.99), will make a welcome return as a 2020 version of the very popular 2018 B&M Third Doctor and TARDIS Set (the time monster).

This set features an exclusive figure of The Third Doctor in a splendid dark bottle green jacket with grey lapels, combined with a dark bow tie, a lime coloured shirt with dark edging and dark grey/brown trousers. The light blue TARDIS comes with standard opening doors and signage, a black phone door and the newer low-profile base. Perfect for all Doctor Who fans and collectors, the set comes beautifully presented in Classic Style Doctor Who heritage packaging with diorama insert card.

They had plenty of the Pertwee Tardis, and a few of the two packs in the large B&M in Maybury, Edinburgh. Close to the Gyle shopping centre.

Getting to them during the lockdown is going to be the real challenge, so not encouraging people to break the rules – also many of the customers seemed to be treating social distancing as something that happened to other people. A terrifying experience. So if you do venture out, for legitimate reasons, then please take care.

its around and on Galifrey Base now and a few Facebook pages, still amazed at some comments about people expecting brand new body sculpts in these B&M sets though.

any “new” figures are going to have some big compromises somewhere otherwise they just won’t happen at all.

I’ve not been able to find the images, but how exciting. Will be nice to have Romana, finally, even if it’s not my preferred incarnation. Still, perhaps Romana 1 will come with Romana 2, so we get both of them in the one set. I can dream…

I couldn’t view that persons Twitter so not able to see the figure. Looking forward to it though.

There’s a good chance that the next Tom release next year for Bluray will be Season 16 just to space out his companions too (in my opinion).

its not on the twitter account now which seems to have been the original source, and the tweet that said it was 100% genuine has gone, there some very odd things going on here so we will stay well clear of it.

I really hope these new sets don’t arrive whilst any lockdown is in place (unless the sell them online that is ).

I’m hoping we get in the next wave either the 8th tardis, 2nd tardis or the 4th Doctor’s / first 5th Doctor’s tardis from Logopolis / Castrovalva as we haven’t got those yet and it’d be really nice to have them in the collection. Anybody know if any of them might be created?

I would also love to see an 8th Doctor’sTARDIS! Also a 1st Doctor’s set. I’ve never seen the 1st Doctor included in any of the B&M sets over the years. Does anyone know if there is a reason for this?
My ultimate wish would be for a War Doctor & TARDIS set I think. I wonder if they will get into the modern design TARDISes in B&M sets though. And if they do how will they differentiate between the 9th and 10th Doctor’s TARDISes??

Could have a spray painted bad wolf 9th doctor tardis,
If they do a 10th doctor with interior card, make it red like in turn left and put bad wolf signage on it,
It would be nice to see an 11th with series 7b tardis interior card with black t shape windows and white bottom corners and a clara memorial tardis for 12.

Great ideas! I would be happy if any of those come to fruition. Particularly a Bad Wolf TARDIS.
I hope they will go for putting interior cards in the modern TARDISes. New unique scenes inside will be a major selling point and a great touch. Even if it raises the price a bit I’d go for it.
I’ve been hoping they will do a translucent TARDIS at some point. For either the 10th or 11th Doctor would be fun, though it means having the interior card would be more difficult. They didn’t do one for the 3.75″ scale Caliburn House Set ‘Dematerialising’ TARDIS back in 2013.

I would really hope for a 6th Doctor + Tardis from Mindwarp – purple planet/sky background in the box and we have never seen a red tie 6th Doctor figure. I am guessing it wouldn’t be hard to achieve and use the same box as the 5th, maybe darker!

Simiarly to above, I would love a early 5th Box or 8th Doctor one

I’ve still not been able to get one of these from a B&M store. And now we’re in lock down and our minds are on other things it doesn’t seem so important anymore.
I have gone to eBay to get a few though, and am pleased to have them arrived. Actually seeing them in person I am stuck by the varying degrees of weathering on the TARDISes. One of mine has a very heavy wash on the walls, particularly noticeable on the windows and signs. I never mind seeing lots of weathering on figures though and it reflects the worn look of the TARDIS I remember from back then too.
Also, one of mine has the common feature of bowing on the side columns, with the column being so curved the hinge edge of the door is almost visible.
Great looking set though, love the look of the TARDIS and Pertwee was my Doctor from the ’70’s

So there opening a new store, so I get there at 8:00 and because it’s new there not opening until 9:00 so the area manager goes and has look for me and there not in stock, the stores are classified in a b c and he told me there’s more chance of a bigger store getting the figures in without sounding too obvious, hope this helps.

None in Tolworth/Surbiton- in the stockroom there they think they’re definitely not getting these and they’re only getting the three packs (as this range is only being directed to the bigger stores).
None in Pump Lane/Middlesex- they say they don’t normally get new lines, they’re more of a hub for older/excess stock.
None in Hayes- they hadn’t even been told about these, but they checked literally everywhere for me and then they checked the stock at the central distribution warehouse (Liverpool, maybe?) and there are still 5000 units of both types of set located there.

I believe any store can get these if they request them, back to the same problem of being a very small line in the scheme of things.

    • Simon

      March 6th, 2020 - 7:42pm

I thought that too but I guess you can’t alway believe that. My local store is pretty small and so far I’ve managed to get all the sets since 2018 when they opened. The people I spoke to in store made it seem like when the stock comes to their DC it’s distributed to stores in quantities more based on sales and numbers rather than whether the stores specifically request the stock. Only time will tell but I would imagine the majority of stores would get some. Some more than others though. Hopefully I’ll do like I did last time and grab a few they have and get them to people that can’t find them! No eBay extortion. Just postage!

Thanks Booboo and Simon. Always useful to try to figure out how things work. I think, like with some customers in this chase, a member of staff hears one thing, not necessarily from the top of the chain responsible for orders, and passes that on to another and eventually we have some telling us one thing and some another (which is absolutely not their fault). Always confusion with these lines, which makes me feel for the staff as well as us rushing from store to store. Was nice though, to literally see on their device, that those order numbers are better than the last Dalek 2 packs, I think, and certainly the previous 3rd Doctor sell out. An order in line with the quantities of the 3 pack sets stands a much better chance of making it’s way to us without disappointment.

Just had a lovely conversation with a couple of staff in store in Buckinghamshire. They got their store scan devices and checked the product code and the description. They’re on their list as having ordered for the stores but it says that the stock hasn’t been logged at their distribution centre which usually means it’s late. She says it’s more than likely going to be the between the 11th and 13th before they get them but couldn’t say with any certainty because even the last load of DW stuff was late and took 2 weeks more to reach them. I’ll keep checking from Monday.

Thank very much for the update, very useful. I don’t know if things will pan out the same in the west country stores but may be similar.
I’ve just been into my local store and asked if the sets were in and gave the product codes. The assistant went to what I assume was the manager’s office and came back saying they weren’t in and didn’t know when they would be, and they hadn’t been invoiced for any.
