BIG Chief Studios Ltd. announced a licensing deal with BBC Worldwide to produce a range of high-end collector 1:6 scale figures and 1:4 scale mixed media statues, based on the flagship TV series Doctor Who. The agreement includes rights for both the current series starring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and the classic series’, from the very first Doctor William Hartnell, through to David Tennant.
Initial product offerings will include highly detailed 1:6 scale versions of the Doctor (Matt Smith) and his companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan). Both figures will be fully articulated for maximum poseability and will feature authentic hand-painted character portraits, finely tailored costuming, signature accessories and themed display bases. To complete the first wave, other popular characters including Rory Williams and River Song will be released.

September 24th, 2011 - 9:45amthe most i would pay for this is £100 but i hope its more like £30 or £50 cause they would sell so many more aswell
C@A
September 24th, 2011 - 10:46amYes, but they would also make a loss in profit as this is an extremely detailed COLLECTOR’S item. But if it’s £100-£150 it’s a decent price.

August 14th, 2011 - 11:56pmtrust me you will care when this thing comes round at £200!
Mels
August 15th, 2011 - 3:11amYes, possibly even a bit better than Hot Toys IMO.
I think they will be as collectible too, so if you’re thinking about one, I wouldn’t hedge for too long about it.
Mind you, we haven’t been told how many of these will be made yet.
The 11th Doctor is a must for me, I’d also adore a 9th Doctor, since we didn’t really get much of Eccleston besides a few 5″ figures.
I could be persuaded for another Tennant too. 😛
Funnily enough, I really want to see one of these of the 1st Doctor.

August 15th, 2011 - 12:06pmThey’ve confirmed there are more than four coming out before the end of the year.

August 14th, 2011 - 4:57pmHey booboo a little bit of topic but are the doctor who plush toys out and if so do you have any or are you planning on getting one or all?
McGann The Doctor.
August 13th, 2011 - 2:00pmIt’s going to be way too expensive for me, sadly 🙁 but it sure is great !
The accessories are many, what IS that lash-up device ? :????:
Anonymous
August 13th, 2011 - 2:08pmThey are not saying what it is, so it’s likely not appeared yet although some people have suggested things about it (some possible, some definetly wrong).

OodSigma
August 14th, 2011 - 3:08pmThe lash up device is the Drs phone from A Christmas Carol.

August 13th, 2011 - 11:51amDO YOU HAVE TO BUT THE OTHER ACCESSORIES SEPARATELY OR DO THEY ALL COME IN THE BOX

August 13th, 2011 - 10:23amwhat was the lash up device what did it do?

August 13th, 2011 - 11:41amits the phone from a christmas caroal
Anonymous
August 13th, 2011 - 12:08pmThey haven’t said what it is, but they were able to say what the others were so it is probablly from a future episode.
doctor 2011
August 13th, 2011 - 1:13pmit is the phone im telling u its on day of the moon when the doctor breaks into nasa
Anonymous
August 13th, 2011 - 1:29pmIf it had already appeared in the show then why did theynot say what it was? It was be that but if it was surely there would be a better term to use than “lash up device”.
thedoctor903
August 13th, 2011 - 1:56pmHere is a link to prove that it is from the christmas carol episode

August 13th, 2011 - 2:08pmi know what u mean anonymous
Anonymous
August 13th, 2011 - 2:14pmIt certainly looks similar but it’s not very clear if it is. Looking at the concept art for A Christmas Carol there is something called the “lashup” there but nothing resembling it appeared in the show but the design may have changed.
anthony
August 13th, 2011 - 9:19amare these going to be 5 inch figs cos i realy wanna get these acccesories nano gun should of come with the stetson doctor figure with closed sonic
booboo
August 13th, 2011 - 9:28amno they are 1:6 scale so if something is 6 foot in real life then it would be 1 foot tall
Boodleoo
August 13th, 2011 - 10:46amYeah but the doctor wasn’t wearing the stetson when he shot used the nano gun. but it comes with swappable head so you can always swap. But booboo will you be able to swap outfits for different episodes
Anonymous
August 13th, 2011 - 11:17amI think it’s more likely they will release different figures for different costumes just to charge you the money for the figures again. Beingat a 1:6 scale the Doctor figure should be around 11 2/3″ tall (as Matt Smith is 5′ 10”) as an example.
anthony
August 13th, 2011 - 9:17pmblimey so will they be like wax work simular how much
Anonymous
August 13th, 2011 - 10:06pmDon’t know about price, some people are giving very high prices. It will be expensive, however I don’t think it’s going to be as extreme as some are making it out to be.
Beep
August 14th, 2011 - 4:23pmso what do you think the price will be anonymous?
Anonymous
August 14th, 2011 - 11:01pmAbout £50-£60. It needs to be expensive but at such a price that you can afford to buy several at the same time if you are fortunate to have that amount of money.
Josh (doctorwhocollector01)
August 13th, 2011 - 9:01amHey booboo are you getting these no matter how much they are like what you doing u just getting the doctor what price is the limit for you?
booboo
August 13th, 2011 - 9:27amdepends on price, personally i would be more interested in classic Doctors
the castalan
August 12th, 2011 - 5:35pmbooboo, are they metal or just plastic
Liam Loves Doctor Who
August 14th, 2011 - 7:19pmI think this figure is extraordinarily similar to Hot Toys, toys. What with the amount of accessories and the amount of hands he has. The likeness to Matt Smith and the size… If it is anything like these.. It would most definitely cost around about £140 or $200! Check out hot toys and take a look at most of their prices
Josh (doctorwhocollector01)
August 12th, 2011 - 3:06pmbooboo will these be expensive can you give a rough guess on how much they will be?
Anonymous
August 12th, 2011 - 3:15pmIt will cot a bit, it probablly won’t be as expensive as some people are making it out to be though because there are several figures coming out at the same time.
Possibly £40?
Beep
August 12th, 2011 - 8:03pmdefinitly over the £80 mark
Anonymous
August 12th, 2011 - 8:08pmThe thing with that is though, if this is over £80 then how could they possibly release several at the same time. It’s fair enough saying it’s for the collector’s market but the fact that they have already confirmed the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River and said there will be other figures on top of them in the first wave means that if it was say £100 then that is £500 minimum.
Josh (doctorwhocollector01)
August 12th, 2011 - 9:36pmomg if its 80 or anything over 80 then hell no thats not worth it when i could just get the the cb ones i might get one for x mas but just the doctor and im still not even sure
booboo
August 12th, 2011 - 10:56pmI’m sure these are going to be around a £100
Anonymous
August 12th, 2011 - 11:08pmBut how much will the overall wave cost, I understand that they will be expensive but £100 seems a bit steep for these taking into account a large amount of them are coming out at the one time, if it was more spread out then possibly but are they really expecting someone to spend £500 minimum on their figures, even the most diehard of collectors must be worried about the costs of these if they go that high.
boo
August 12th, 2011 - 2:25pmthey made it really good
anthony
August 12th, 2011 - 11:42amare they out and what are they are they new improved 12 inch ones i never got them but could someone discribe to me please
Anonymous
August 12th, 2011 - 2:13pmIt’s an incredibly highly detailed figure in a 1:6 scale so it will probablly be slightly under 12” (unless they get the heights wrong).
