BBC Shop Now Closed

As part of the BBC’s wider strategic investment to make more programmes available to audiences, as well as develop it’s creative partnerships with programme makers to help them increase digital revenue, BBC Worldwide have decided to close BBCShop.comin the UK on Tuesday 29th March 2016.

As more and more consumers move to digital viewing we will be focusing our efforts on BBC Store, the new BBC Worldwide digital service.

    Just got my order today. All arrived but the two titan comics I ordered were kind of folded to fit the box. And the titan figures I got were 10th doctor in spacesuit and Amy pond. Very happy with both of them.

    This was just rubbish. The only item of 6 I received was the TARDIS teapot and that arrived smashed in half. Goodbye bbc shop maybe it was time after to go after all. When you tell me my items are released for delivery and then tell me you don’t have them in stock means something was very wrong.

    Finally got an email informing me which items were out of stock and that the refund is in progress.
    Every single item I ordered was out of stock, so in the end it was a COMPLETE waste of time for me.
    They were all DVDs so I’m not too surprised to be honest, still sucks though.

    Open a dispute via PayPal if this is how you have paid for items ; they will respond quicker this way to you as opposed to query messages sent via Email.

    I would like to comnent on the cobfusion regarding stock and tge basket. Putting an item in your basket does NOT reserve it. However, if you are able to check out with the item then you may have a chance of getting it.

    This is getting odd. Sonic remote turned up this morning although the payment is still pending as an authorisation. No dispatch email and still showing as incomplete on the website. Money for the two DVDs only came out at midnight. Still two lots of money (£95 in total) sat there as an authorisation for the DVDs they can’t supply. I really hope they don’t end up charging me twice for the remote.

      No, adding something to your basket doesn’t reserve it for you. If it’s sold out, then they’re all gone

      Because you added it to your basket in the first place. I don’t know what it’ll tell you when you try to order it, but I promise you, if stock has gone, it’s gone.

      If the product is either listed as out of stock, or the product page has disappeared from the website entirely, then you have absolutely zero chance of receiving it. Putting an item in your basket does not reserve it. That’s not how baskets work. If the product you placed an order with is out of stock, you’ll receive a cancellation email in the near future.

      Personally I don’t think I’m even going to try any more orders, unless the replica clothing goes down to a ridiculously low price. Doubt they’ve got anything left at all anyway.

    They’ve now sent me a cancellation for the Dr Foster dvd. That’s all 5 dvd’s i ordered on Monday afternoon now cancelled.

    I’m not entirely convinced they dealt with the orders on a first come first served basis.

      No where do they guarantee a “first come first served” basis ordered some stuff on the day this deal came on, my brother ordered some dvds the day after and only his have arrived..

    Finally got my dispatch email regarding my order of 7 items made on Monday afternoon, this morning. All items are marked as dispatched, despite half of the items having disappeared from the site earlier this week. So as long as everything actually arrives, I’m happy. Don’t think it’s worth ordering anything else from the BBC Shop now though. Doesn’t seem they have anything left at all.

      Thankfully my order arrived today, exactly as it should be. It’s such a shame to lose BBC Shop. At least my final order had plenty to keep me entertained for a long, long time.

    Guys I’ve just had two dispatch emails for items I already got a cancellation email.

    So there is still hope you may get your items.

    ordered the 10th and 12th doctor character t shirts last Monday. got a dispatch email for them on Wednesday. parcel arrives from bbc shop today containing call the midwife series 5 dvd which I no longer had on order from them. no sign of any t shirts.

    Just a heads up to anyone that still needs DVDs; Amazon appear to be running a 2 for £10 on all of the single DVD releases which I have looked for on there. It equates to the same price as the 3 for £15 which the BBC Shop previously ran. You will have to order two lots (£20 worth) to qualify for free delivery but it seems worth it to get the DVDs at £5 a piece.

    Made an order Monday in the early afternoon, still no dispatch email. And worryingly, half of the products I ordered are no longer on the website. I really hope that people who ordered the same items after me aren’t receiving them, despite me placing my order first.

    Just got my dispatched email!

    Ordered on Monday. Tom Baker scarf and BBC hoodie. All on their way!
    Looks to be the problem was the DVDs, but glad all my orders are accepted. Odd time to send a dispatched email, looks to be a round the clock job to get orders sorted!

      What does that exactly mean? That is the situation with my Series 8 DVD Standard Edition. I also bought a 12th Doctor character t-shirt in the same order which has been despatched. I know that they were ‘unable to fufill all the items’ in my order so I’m guessing that it’s the dvd.

    Just got that dreaded email that not all of my items will be coming, refund incoming, not sure what yet but I’m guessing one of the Blu-Rays I ordered.

    Not happy. They took my money on Monday. It’s stuck pending. They took it AGAIN today. I’ve now got £10 paid and another £43 pending. I phoned them and they said that both the £53 and £42 which are pending will be cancelled and returned to my account. But why take it again today if it was already pending from Monday? I’m now waiting on £45 to go back into my account.

      one of the problems with the banking system which needs sorting and many people are unaware of

      They hold the original order amount in “no mans land” but if an item is out of stock when shipped they take the new amount of the order whilst leaving the original amount unclaimed for x amount of days off you balance until it goes back on

      I get this problem all the time with some well know on-line supermarkets

      they seem to be able to instantly take money off you balance but then take days to put it back on

      What’s annoyed me is that they’ve not just charged me today for the items they have sent me; they have also taken the money for the items they can’t supply and put that in ‘no mans land’ too. So I’ve now got £95 sat in limbo which they’ve told me will all go back into my account… at some point. Luckily I’ve got enough in my savings to move it out into my account to cover what they took; if I didn’t then I wouldn’t be able to afford my bills this week. :l

      to be honest i didn’t know BBC shop did that, thought money was only taken when despatched

      Seems to be this grey area of money in no mans land which technically they haven’t taken (claimed as the banks put it) but it comes of your balance

      At the monent my balance if £46 down because of one item out of stock on a food order, last time that happened took 10 days to go back on

      This isn’t a BBC shop problem though and i think it needs addressing ( i believe Colin Baker tweeted about some time ago with a problem he had with a food order )

    All the emails am receiving is so confusing firstly they say your order is cancelled then I get a dispatch email, however all together I ordered 15 items and 1 has been dispatched.

      Only those which are listed as dispatched have been sent. I’m in the same boat, only two of my Dvds have been sent, all the others are cancelled. I spoke to them about the money situation and asked them about the sonic remote o ordered at the same time and they said that one should be fine. It better be after all this trouble.

    I haven’t received any emails since Monday, which by the sound of things I guess is a good thing. I just hope whatever does come is sent in one package, I placed my order through a mail-forwarding service, which could become quite expensive if all my items are split up

    I’m literally thinking of suing! 2 weeks ago I ordered my series 9 part 2 DVD. Payment taken.. Still no delivery… Right ok I’m getting worried… Today I get an email “We apologise for the inconvenience but your items are now out of stock” this includes EVERYTHING I ordered this week last week and the week before! Get it together BBC!

      They don’t take payment until despatch unless you paid paypal which is a universal problem with them not to do with BBCshop

      no matter how unfair this may all seem the terms and conditions you agreed to when ordering wont allow you to sue
