The question is do we wait in the hope the prices drop further come the 29th March or do we just buy buy buy.

Knowing you lot I’m tempted towards the latter. 😀

Some crazy-good bargains here! Although I’m hoping they’ll reduce ‘The Doctor Brown Strap Watch’ a little more, because I’m selfish!

Cheers for the heads up, Booboo

That’s a real shame to see the site close down, but I guess if it just wasn’t making enough money, then it’s for the best

Managed to pick up a Doctor Who t-shirt, mug and Trivial Pursuit game for €15

They must really be struggling to sell stuff, if they have that low prices. They must be making a loss on some items.

A good portion of my collection I got from BBC Shop, such a shame but these bargains are not to be missed!

I can see their dilemma with DVD vs digital, and they have probably made the right decision but I will miss the low prices and offers. Still need about 30 stories to finish my classic DVD collection but its not like BBC Shop were the only place selling classic DVD’s.

Some excellent prices, picked up the special edition dvd’s on offer, seems rude not to even though i have the original dvd’s, plus some Target reprints and a Sherlock 5″ figure. Oh and the WhoOlogy book.

Really sad to see the shop close. I’ve been a regular purchaser for a few years now.

So gutted!! . Love the BBC shop. Luckily only have 1 classic dvd to buy as it was the only one not available on the bbcshop website when I ordered my last few the other week. Will be shopping later for a few extra bargains. Can’t say no to a Who Sale!

really sad to see the decline of the show, first no figures now we can see the classic dvds are going(the bbc shop closing are the first step for the eventually end of the range) next i can see the cancelation of the show itself in the next 3 or so years…

which will go first then booboo, the black and whites?

    • booboo

      March 7th, 2016 - 5:18pm

i think the longer they have been out on DVD the less likely they are to reprint them after all some have been around for years and the used market will always be flooded with them

    • A Duck

      March 7th, 2016 - 5:18pm

What classic do you think are gonna go? And why?

    • booboo

      March 7th, 2016 - 5:20pm

I dont know but they have been around for years, people are going more and more digital there would always come a time when repressing a new batch would of stories that had been around for years would not be viable

    • A Duck

      March 7th, 2016 - 5:28pm

But does everyone want to go digital? I prefer having a physical collection on a shelf cause it looks like ive actually accomplished something. Im sure other fans are the same right?

    • The Yeti Next Door

      March 7th, 2016 - 5:31pm

same here duck but for joe bloggs who doesnt have the room or care, digital is better – there will always be a physical media market and one would hope big finish stay physical due to the certain variety of fan we all are.

just realised it is for the new horrible BBC Store. Will never buy from because I don’t want digital copies of classic who. What a year it has been so far the worst year of my life no doctor who, no Sherlock, no BBC shop, no new doctor who figures and it has just been the worst year yet

    • booboo

      March 7th, 2016 - 5:47pm

all they are saying is the want to concentrate on their digital store there are numerous other markets to still buy Doctor Who items from

They cant keep repressing new copies of DVD’s that have been round for years in a shrinking market either

They did however seem to be the only place for some items like Xmas decs so we will have the see what happens there

Kirt Alder are about the most unhelpful supplier i have even tries to get info from it has to be said

Kurt Adler I have never had a response from. Considering the items Exclusive to BBC Store US, I’m now getting concerned over the fact that Christmas Decorations available there; may now not appear here? (ie) Orange Dalek, Gingerbread Tardis & Adipose Glass figurines.

So DVDs are going? Nooooo 🙁 So many stories I need! Well, we have HMV but when they run out….. Grrr I’m so mad! I hope they start to offer DVDs at a higher price than the downloads on BBC store. Many fans will probably stop watching, especially in other countries due to them relying on DVDs…. This is really upsetting 🙁 Never again will I be able to walk to my local ASDA and find complete series boxsets 🙁

This is a complete shock to me! Never in a million years would I expect BBC Shop to close. I thought it was doing plenty of good business, but apparently not. BBC Shop has always been my #1 favourite online store, with a multitude of order in the past few years. Will be sorely missed.
