A question one of you Whovians might be able to answer. Did Ian Marter used to have a perm, or was his hair always curly and he had it straightened for is Harry Sullivan role?

I think it is fairly obvious that he had curly hair as Harry and off screen too. I’m sure it was natural.

I am the trustee of a deceased person’s trust. They had a very large number of Dr. Who memorabilia, including figurines, magazines about the figurines, books, comics, etc…

Would anyone have any advice on where to sell these items? I could just throw them in with the estate sale, but I fear that is not a very good market for these items. He was very fond of them and I would much rather have them go to someone who would appreciate them. I am at a complete loss of what to do with them. Any advise would be appreciated.

Sell them on eBay, that would be the best way for the most people to see them and who would be interested in them and appreciate them

If you would rather sell them as a job lot, rather than list individual items on Ebay, some auction houses have themed auctions. If you could get the collection in on a sci fi themed auction, that may be better than a general auction.

USA company so not sure on UK availability

      This is the company https://www.scifihobby.com/

      this is what was said

Yes, we have just signed a long-term, worldwide deal with the BBC to make the official Doctor Who trading cards. Very exciting, as this is one of the true great science fiction franchises in history. Jodie Whittaker is on board to sign cards, and the first series of cards will likely focus on the most recent episodes in which she has starred as the 13th Doctor. More news to come as we get further along, but our plans surely include other card sets that will eventually cover the entire history of the franchise dating back to the very beginning. Very exciting!!!

    • Anonymous

      June 7th, 2021 - 2:32pm

Glad someone’s making physical cards again instead of just digital. They always look good in an original binder to display.

    • Random browser

      June 8th, 2021 - 12:54pm

Feeling optimistic about this news. I bought several sets of other SF cards from them (Rittenhouse Archives) years ago. Very, very high quality – perhaps too many chase cards though – and made available through UK trading card retailers as well as direct from them (if you’re happy to pay import tax).

They’ve done a lot of SF (and many other popular series) over the years. Have a look at their list of previous sets. They know what they’re doing and what their collectors want.

Will be keeping an eye on their website for further news.

I never expected to see Sensorites from Character Options, not since 2013 anyway. And if that Dalek set is set 7, I wonder what 5 and 6 are

    • James17

      June 7th, 2021 - 9:49am

The numbering of 7 for Day of the Daleks is because Day was the 7th Dalek story. They’re not releasing the stories in order as both Troughton sets would seem very similar and that’s not what they want, so Power and Day are being released together (sets 5 and 7) then later on Evil and Planet (sets 6 and 8) will be released. I’m glad they’re keeping the numbers like this as when they’re all released, if Day was set 6 and evil was set 7, having them seem not in order on a shelf would be very irritating!

Well, they could rerelease some of the older ones. At a wild guess Delgado and the horse box, but I would imagine that any online exclusive vehicle would be Bessie, followed by the Whomobile followed by a UNIT Land Rovers. My hopes anyway.

    • The Outcast

      May 24th, 2021 - 3:54am

I don’t think we’re going to get any new tool TARDISes, considering we didn’t get a new model for 13’s TARDIS, which makes it unlikely we’ll get a horse box for the Master, or any other vehicle.

Maybe we will get reissues of the Master’s TARDISes, that could be really cool, and lead to a couple of neat variants of the Master.

    • TimelordTim

      May 24th, 2021 - 9:44pm

I agree The Outcast, a perfect opportunity to give the Master some due attention, especially an Ainley release that is more accessible. Master variants with Clock, Computer, Column and Melkur must all be feasible.

Day Dalek Gold, I would love to see a Bessie but I think vehicles are beyond what CO would do now, even as online exclusives, but we can hope for a surprise!
