Missyrules, Does that include the Signature Series Tom Baker Aswell? I Vaguely remember seeing that Figure go up for Sale Aswell but I haven’t heard anything since.

The only info I can find snowman is October for all three but whether they actually come out then is open for debate.

The Who Shop website has listed the new electroplated 5th, 8th and Master Sonics with pictures.

I’ve got an 8th Doctor sonic from years ago, on my sofa now….
      It still buzzes, etc…
What’s the difference between that and this new one…..?

    • booboo

      April 9th, 2026 - 5:33pm

electroplated, but i thought the lazer sonic was dependant on sales of the first 2, also basic info and images with a long pre-order date unusual for CO.

    • War Chief.

      April 9th, 2026 - 5:52pm

The 5th and 8th sonics are structurally (so grown up…!) very similar, so not sure I’d bother with either of those….
The Master’s laser screwdriver though very much another matter….!

      April 10th, 2026 - 12:51am

Are these the next Character exclusives?

    • Scotel

      April 10th, 2026 - 8:47am

They’re up for pre-order through a non-Character retailer, I think we can safely rule these out as being Character exclusives.

We know some sort of announcement is due soon. It’s possible these will be part of it (or all of ir).

    • booboo

      April 10th, 2026 - 8:49am

They are general release, I expect FP etc will have them at some stage.

    • War Chief.

      April 10th, 2026 - 10:17am

If I see a 5th Dr sonic in FP (rather than go through the hassle of ordering one online) then I might very well be tempted…!
On the Character Options front, I hope this doesn’t mean we don’t get any new figures before October….!

    • daz

      April 10th, 2026 - 4:10pm

I think this means they won’t be bundling the sonics with future vortex figures which is a good thing.

    • The Outcast

      April 11th, 2026 - 10:45am

Those Who Shop Sonics are mass retail items, so should be available at places like Forbidden Planet eventually. They’re not taking up online exclusive slots either, so don’t worry about that – we should be getting around half-a-dozen more Character excl figure sets.

    • War Chief.

      April 11th, 2026 - 11:24am

Well, this is now April and we’ve had nothing yet….unless you count Tegan, and she was meant to be last year….
All we know of is 3 sonic screwdrivers, to be released very late this year….and not even new ones…!

    • The Outcast

      April 11th, 2026 - 3:01pm

It’s possible the annoying orange’s war might have delayed things, but we’re certainly getting more figure set exclusives this year, and a B&M wave.

Just have to wait a while for this stuff to come out, because it doesn’t sound like we’re going to see it soon – probably another backloaded year like last year.

    • War Chief.

      April 11th, 2026 - 3:12pm

I’ve done a random calculation that it will probably be another 20 years before they release all the Dr Who figures, playsets, sonics etc I want…
And I’m already over 50….I don’t know how much more time I’ve got……!

    • Bookcollector

      April 11th, 2026 - 5:42pm

I’ve gone the other way with merchandise now. I’m over 50 and I’ve decided less is more, I buy very little who these days.

    • War Chief.

      April 11th, 2026 - 6:19pm

Drwhofan, you may indeed get to see a Yeti figure, Vervoid, Valeyard, Ambassador, 5th Dr Tardis console, 2nd Dr sonic screwdriver…..in about 2046….!

    • Drwhofan12

      April 11th, 2026 - 6:38pm

War chief. Could he 10. You never know

    • Bookcollector

      April 11th, 2026 - 6:51pm

Ha! Bless the folly of youth. “I have ages…” how many of us on here have had this thought – what 2026 means 30 years since Paul mcgann became the doctor… and one for next year… what 40 years since sylvester McCoy’s debut… how? It’s only three years until one of my favourite movies turns 50, Alien will reach that in 2029. I was 9 when it was released and 11 when I saw it and fell in love with it. So yes, at 18 you do indeed have “ages” but my friend time really does fly!

    • War Chief.

      April 11th, 2026 - 7:17pm

I fell in love with Alien and Alien 3……slightly less so with Aliens…..
I had the novel of Alien for 3 years, read many times, before it FINALLY came on tv….and blew my mind….
Watched it again two evenings ago….I’m watching John Hurt movies….

    • Bookcollector

      April 11th, 2026 - 7:20pm

That’s interesting war chief as I find the same, love alien, enjoyed the theatrical alien 3 and love the special edition of alien 3 but I do find aliens overrated. I still like it but I prefer other movies in the series.

    • War Chief.

      April 11th, 2026 - 7:47pm

With Aliens, I cycled 5 miles to a cinema, watched it, then cycled 5 miles home again…..
      I lived out in the countryside….no buses….
That was in my heyday…..when I was 18…..!

    • Bookcollector

      April 11th, 2026 - 8:23pm

I was 16 when aliens came out forty years ago (see, time flying again) oh and I still have my copies of the movie novelisations.

    • Rex F

      April 11th, 2026 - 9:06pm

And today you can see Aliens with James Cameron’s AI special sauce, which now looks restrained compared to what’s on the recent DW Collection sets. (Not something I ever thought I’d say!)

    • Alanoffthefence

      April 11th, 2026 - 9:11pm

Very much a fan of the Alien series, there are some good books out there as well as the excellent Audible full cast versions of some of them, Out of the Shadows, River of Pain,Sea of Sorrow are all well worth a listen as well as an alternative Alien 3, that features Hicks and Bishop (both actors reprise their roles) and that at one time was due to be the actual screenplay.

    • War Chief.

      April 11th, 2026 - 9:31pm

I read the novelisations of all three Alien books before seeing the films…..and, I know Alan Dean Foster was a good writer and he did his best, but for me he didn’t convey the….magic that John Hurt, Ian Holm, Charles Dance, Brian Glover and Ralph Brown put into their characters…..
NB 1992 was a great shock to me when two of my favourite literary characters were killed off….Ripley in Alien 3 and then Arthur Dent in Mostly Harmless….!

    • Bookcollector

      April 11th, 2026 - 9:41pm

To be fair to foster he was using early scripts for alien without seeing any footage just concept designs so for instance the chestburster in the book is based on an early design which looks like a chicken! He does a good job on the books but not being able to see what was being shot less him down but the books are still good. Also I’ve read all of the alien and predator original fiction and there are some great books.

He talks about the history of Character and the Doctor Who brand. If you’re looking for information on future figures this isn’t it but he does discuss the change in the markets over the past twenty years and goes in depth into why the 3.75″ range failed (with a few images of prototypes from that range which I’ll leave for people to find themselves).

    • War Chief.

      April 2nd, 2026 - 11:11pm

My heart sank when the 3.75 range was introduced….they would have clashed with all my 5 inch Dr Who figures, so I didn’t buy any…
I was doubly disappointed, as I really liked Peter Capaldi’s first season….

      I don’t think so either.
Scrap value for the actual brass used depending on it’s quality is only about £8.00 so even allowing for production costs and import fees etc they’re making some profit if they sell all of them. Can’t see ebay scalpers being attracted to this either!

Yes, I was wondering what had happened with that….On the one hand, it would be nice to know what’s coming, but on the proverbial other hand, it might be torture to know that a fantastic Dr Who figure, playset or sonic would be released…..in November…..!

We haven’t actually had the announcement yet so we’ve got no idea if we’re getting the full lineup or it’s being drip fed again. No timings were given and no guarantees were given.

We won’t know until the first press release hits, don’t jump the gun on it.

    • daz

      March 31st, 2026 - 12:37pm

It would have been nice but in terms of surprises we’d know everything in advance so there would be less buzz on CO socials etc…

If it is modern/nuWho alternating with classic as rumours online suggest it will be a good year for all fans hopefully.

    • pb

      April 1st, 2026 - 3:05pm

Has it been confirmed that he hasn’t revealed the entire line at once because he hasn’t been allowed? First I’ve heard of this. If it’s true then it seems like someone higher up than him has more sense on the matter. Revealing all the releases for the entire year would kill the hype for the Online Exclusives stone dead. I’ve never understood the logic of ‘we want to control the leaks…. by leaking it ourselves.’ Like when the BBC made a big news story about John Simm returning in Series 10 simply because it had got out there. Despite it already being leaked, I and many other people would not have known had the BBC not revealed it…. They just damage themselves in an effort to maintain some fake notion of ‘control’.

    • Scotel

      April 1st, 2026 - 4:01pm

      @pb

No, nothing of the sort has happened. Actually from what I gather he recently shared a teaser of their upcoming sonic range so it seems the big announcement is coming. Other toy ranges announce their releases well in advance and don’t have any issues, there’s no reason why Doctor Who would be any different.

I don’t want to come across as rude to anyone but it has to be said (and this goes for all merchandise ranges, not just the figures: the same thing keeps happening with the animations and collection sets too): just because something has not been announced by whatever deadline you have set in your head does not mean something isn’t happening. Until we either have the announcement in hand or until we actually hear from Al that it’s not happening could we please stop jumping the gun and assuming what’s happening one way or the other? The figures are coming, we’ll find out what form the announcement takes when the announcement happens. It has not happened yet, so we don’t know what form it will take. Patience is a virtue.

I thought so, just wanted to make it clear I wasn’t intending to add fuel to the fire and always push these people to provide sources for their statements, which they rarely do unfortunately. I’m quite out of the loop so always take things with a pinch of salt until people verify such claims. 🙂 Agree with you completely, they shouldn’t say such stuff as fact when it’s not, it just adds confusion and makes it frustrating.

In fairness the Tegan set was delayed and we were told at the time this would have no impact on the 2026 releases which were still on schedule at that time so the Tegan figure’s timing shouldn’t have any relation to what’s happening this year.

Al Dewar was on a podcast that came out yesterday and while they were mentioned in passing (they are expecting people will “have questions” when they get announced) the big “news” of the conversation was about international distribution: namely that he had been pushing for stock to be set aside for Australia in the same way that stock had been set aside for the US last year. Australia is one of their biggest markets but gets hurt by the high shipping costs. That’s no guarantee of anything because it will be up to Character’s management and actually finding a distributor but hopefully that will help collectors down under going forward.

They added the Dalek to the Tegan set because they were concerned about value for money and the Third Doctor and sonic screwdriver did not perform well. I think it’s safe to say it won’t just be a Fifteenth Doctor variant.

    • daz

      March 30th, 2026 - 10:27pm

Yes, but if it is a 15 variant with something it has to be something really good for it to sell considering 15 and ruby hasn’t sold out yet either.
